I was in Tokyo late July to early August remember the sunshine city shopping center, there was some school idols performing when visited. It is so nice to see some footage from there again, I really miss Tokyo and their endless places to go shopping for everything, especially nerdy stuff.

So I went in a ramen place like that with my friend. Some how we completely missed the order machine. We just sat down. Then this older Japanese gave us the English menu. Lol Then we didn't know how to pay. This lady was very nice though. My friend and I were very jetlagged.

Thank you for the tips! I'm also pretty basic, and when I visited over Golden Week I didn't have much of a plan and mostly wandered around Akihabara, Ikebukuro, and Shinjuku/Harajuku. I totally hit multiple Animates as well as the Ikebukuro Pokemon Store, but I GOTTA check out that Ramen next time!

Hey, Reina, I know you probably wouldn't be able to, but if you can, on October 21st, my local anime group should be having a Shokugeki Night, as in, we'll watch the new episode of Shokugeki no Soma, and then have a cooking contest, and I was wondering if you'd like to be a judge! It's in Houston, TX, though, so there's that, but hotels are cheap down here, lol.
@xmikun7 жыл бұрын
Reina! You forgot NAKANO BROADWAY! it´s an amazing spot for many japanese sub cultures (cosplay, anime, music, weird fashion, military things, visual kei, etc) also you find good quality cheap things (second hand products). *PLUS* In the basement is the famous 8 layer ice cream cone from Daily Chico.

Next time you go back to Japan, consider a trip to Yokosuka and enjoy ramen at Honmokuya (honestly don’t know if it’s a chain, so you may get lucky elsewhere). While I normally wouldn’t recommend ANYONE go to Yokosuka on holiday, Honmokuya is REALLY good!

Reina I have been trying to get this question answered all over for a long time: DO JAPANESE GAMES WORK ON US CONSOLES? I know they will be in Japanese but will they play and work on US consoles? I am so excited for the Japan videos!!
@emilykerr62767 жыл бұрын
winterbells1 I'm not sure which console you're referring to, but this website: www.gaijingamers.com/showthread.php?t=7357 says which Japanese PS4 games have English support (like subtitles and stuff like that) and since the PS4 isn't region locked basically all games from all countries should work on it.
@reinascully7 жыл бұрын
ahhhh it depends on the console, game, etc! But I would be careful, a lot of stuff is region locked... I remember having to buy a weird little spring to insert into an old ass playstation so it could read and play foreign games... but that was like a hundred years ago.
@BradRileyAus7 жыл бұрын
Reina Scully you just levelled up AGAIN in my estimation.. :)
@khaldrakon7 жыл бұрын
Depends on the console. Newer games that are on blu-ray (XB1, PS3, PS4) are region free for the most part and can be played on any region console, while older games on DVD (XBOX, 360, PS1, PS2) have regions like NTSC, PAL, and NTSC-J, and you would need a console from that region to play them. For Nintendo, the Switch, Game Boy, and DS are region free, while everything from the NES to the Wii-U is region locked, along with the 3DS. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regional_lockout
@KrisGainsforth7 жыл бұрын
Nintendo Switch is region-free, per Big N.

You should go to Lock Up in Shibuya, it is really cool! All of the meals have funny torture names, eg: french fries = oil bath, etc... At random times the "monsters" or inmates escape and scare everyone before being tazed and apprehended by sexy policewomen!

Since you stayed at Tokyo and travelled from Narita, what would you say the best way to get from the airport to the city is? My bf and I are going in a week and we still aren't sure 😔
@jenkrovyu33817 жыл бұрын
Rhianna Appleby Bus hands down -reasonably clear, has room for your luggage and it takes about the same amount of time as the train. there's a Narita express buss that takes you to Tokyo station or you can book a bus to take you to your hotel. I prefer taking the bus, personally, and it's honestly a bit of a hassle to deal with the train if you have luggage with you :/

Is Tokyo the only place you can get a place to stay when visiting Japan? Like is it better to get a hotel in Tokyo or is it better to get a place outside and just take a train when you want to check the place out?
@mx20007 жыл бұрын
In Tokyo for sure. Consider that Tokyo is huge, so staying outside the city really means a 1+ hour train ride, which will be very crowded (since you are going with the flow of the salaryman) and pretty expensive. Check out airbnb if you find the hotels expensive.
@TheKroganMaster7 жыл бұрын
I see, i knew it was going to take time....didn't know if it was going to be expensive or not. Thanks for letting me know, also alright ill check out Airbnb prices aswell.
