I really enjoy watching your videos, you probably create with the widest array of jewelry techniques than any other person I’ve seen. You’re very inspirational. I wanted to try some micro macrame and I ended up buying large spools of nylon threads that were 0.15mm instead of 1.5mm and I was just stuck with them. I’ve been using them for kumihimo and threading other beads. But I’ve also been cutting a bunch of threads and making tassels, and taking different amounts and twisting them so when I release tension they wrap around each other creating a nice rope that looks elegant and works great for necklaces. But I’ve also tried to double that way to create macrame with, but I just can’t keep them to stay knotted. I did buy some waxed cotton and waxed polyester that should arrive anytime so I can make some of these intricate designs. But since you are using nylon I’m going to find your tutorials and double mine up to 0.30mm and I will keep trying until I get it. I love the sheen of the thread and the smaller looking the more elegant I think it looks. Thank you so much for all the inspiration and congratulations again for being recognized by a beading provider and the opportunity they gave you. 😊

You have just saved me a fortune ! Thanks. I couldn't find full rattail reels on Amazon, but on Ebay I got 92 metre reels for £6:99, buy 3 get 1 free 1, postage free. Now I don't know what quality they will be, buteven just for starting out and practicing designs it is a great deal compared to usual price I have seen of 3 metres for £1.

CSLdesigns Thank you so much these are the EXACT questions I just asked on your rose bracelet video!! I am new at this and beading, am clueless except the fact that I want to do them both! I am in several online groups and I have told them about you on You Tube but not surprising there were quite a few that knew about you, some didn't but said they were going to check your channel out! Surprisingly Amazon is where I started looking and in the process of buying these cords. Thank you again!

Hi , I spent a few hours watching and trying to keep up in learning knots . I bought a Macrame piece from Mizze and have been guessing about it's materials . I don't think I could make a piece like theirs but mine is a Evil Eye Protection which I know is something that's not what people think it is but what I like is a thin grey cord with some red in places . If you see one with 5 good reviews mine might be in that bracelet with a half inch 925 Silver Amulet and it's not a bright or loud piece for a man . I think the red is Kabbalah but the grey I think is a waxed cotton it's waterproof i think but I don't know a lot about Macrame but I enjoyed practicing some of your knot . I think if I attempted something it would be low key but with some nice silver accents and any tips you might have would go a long way . I'm good with my hands and I have grand children so some for the young at heart is not out of the question . But my guessing on my new bracelet , I know the red is probably wool but I thought the rest was waxed cotton with a small diameter like maybe .5mm or 1mm , I don't know but maybe if you have seen what I bought could probably all the details with a glance . Today I was trying to keep up with you with some bamboo string from Wal Mart and dosen't list the thickness . The clasp on mine looks like a tiny grate that cord fibers were pushed through and melted and acts as a button with a loop of string . This Mizze is the only piece of anything I have , it was 45 American but I don't wear a watch or rings or ear rings just this small bracelet and it has peaked my interest in looking into what it would take to maybe sometime make something , I'm disabled so I don't get out much , was married 27 years and now by myself , I need a hobby or something . i'm sorry about this small Novel I have written but any info or tip I would be very grateful , my name is Peer , thank for your time if ylou made it this far

Thanks so much for the tutorials. Your work is amazing, and your videos are my go-to videos for info and technique. I saw in a blog somewhere about the thickness of the "tex" cord making a difference when it comes to beaded kumihimo. That the cord should take up roughly 2/3 of the bead diameter to ensure a tighter result. I know you tend to use 8/0 seed beads which would make sense with a .8mm cord. I've been using 6/0 seed beads which have maybe a 1.2mm diameter. When I used the a smaller cord the result seemed a little "squishy", if that even makes sense. I understand that as long as the cord goes through bead then you can usually use it, it's just that I don't want really bulky bead ends and I want it to look it's best. Any thoughts as to the cord thickness vs bead size? Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

Amazon says that they do not when or if that satin cord will be back in stock. Do you have another supplier you could recommend? I'm having a terrible time finding 1mm satin cord that will work with my chosen beads.

Thank you so much for your tutorial. I am just starting in micro macrame and this has been very helpful. I have noticed that the length of cord needed for a project is affected by the thickness and type of the cord you use. Is there some sort of formula or rule of thumb for knowing the difference? Do you happen to have any tutorials about beads, specifically how to know what size the holes are in the beads, I have wasted a bit of money on beads that I can not use right now.
@susanmarielucas26286 жыл бұрын
Hi, Anna, I hope that you do not mind me answering you. Pearls and gemstones have very, very small holes, sometimes as small as 0.5mm or less. This is because in the industry they are sold by weight and they don't want to drill away profits! "Euro" or European beads have a very large hole, usually about 5mm, they are the ones you see strung on braided serpentine silver wire: the Pandora style bracelets use these. Most everything else comes somewhere in between. A reputable supplier will specify both the diameter of the bead *and* it's hole size. Three good U.S. online suppliers are beadaholique.com, firemountaingems.com and artbeads.com. I also use pandahall.com in China; they also have a UK site. doreenbeeds.com are in China as well and they offer free shipping worldwide. Buy yourself an inexpensive bead reamer to enlarge the hole a bit, however this does not work on all beads (take care while reaming glass beads as they may break). Seed beads are a different kettle of fish as they are sized differently [i.e.; 15/0 (teensy) to 6/0 (big)]. Fire Mountain Gems has an extremely useful resource called their EncycloBEADia® Resource - here's the link to it: www.firemountaingems.com/resources/encyclobeadia?navsrc=left_EncycloBEADia . Happy beading!

Hi, I love your videos but I tried going to the Amazon website and its showing that its a UK shop. I am in the US and tried messaging them but apparently its another account which I dont have. Do you know if they ship to the US or know of one that is with the US? Thanks
@j.p93937 жыл бұрын
Hey Jennifer. Each country has their own Amazon link. The US one is simply: amazon . com. The link that she posted has the .4,mm Slon thread with 70M in length for 2.99GBP, which is usually about 1.8% more than USD. Therfore, you would have to almost double that price to get the USD. Also, from the UK website, it says that she charges VAT. We do not pay VAT in the US. Therefore, the price is about the same on our Amazon site. I put in the following in the search bar: S-Lon Bead cord Black ..4mm. It is $7 and $2 shipping in the US. You can search for the other cords by doing the same thing but changing name, color, etc.
