Dioscorea discolor grows little tubers under the soil that can eventually be separated to make new plants. In my experience they'll die back and go through a dormancy period during winter and that's when i remove the tubers and store them in a paper bag(soilless) until spring/summer. Such a fun plant to grow!

Hi Kaylee, your beautiful Dioscorea discolor is yelling for a trellis! Then the leaves will get bigger and it grows a lot faster as it already is doing now. Had this plant years before, but I prefer Dioscoreas with their caudex growing above the ground, so I eventually gave it away. That days literally no one was interested in D.discolor (but me), I bought a huge pot full of tubers for 15 €. Now the prices for this plant are insane! The leaves die over winter and grow back in spring. It grows new tubers out of the old from the last year, which dies after it has done it's job to start the new growing. Comparable to a potato.

I just bought a P. Fuzzy the other day... Looked into it and this is a noid. It's a new species found in Ecuador... Allegedly. I am glad I found a cool plant before people decide to make it $100+. I am starting to go that route instead of going for the trendy expensive ones. Got a Green Monstera Stan. that way and now finally people are talking about it. Although, they talk about the variegated ones. Meanwhile, the green form seems to be much harder to find and cheaper! So hot little tip... Or whatever this comment is. 😂

my fuzzy petiole looks like yours. I really like this plant to be honest. it' pretty fuss-free but the colours are nice. I think the story was that they were were imported form Ecuador (?) as a shipment of verrucosum to the Netherlands but they weren't verrucosum and thus they were sold as "fuzzy petiole". I bought mine from a shop in Germany that gets most of it's aroids from Dutch growers.

My Philodendron Quelelii also gets a peachy underside to it's leaves and similar pillowyness on the tops, but does not have the hairy or fuzzy petioles.
