I love that you always put the name of a plant on the screen. My hearing isn't so good, and captions aren't always accurate. So this really helps... not that I'm plant stalking so that I can buy all the same plants...

Hello from a Polish girl living in Texas!! I am a new houseplant mom (literally got my first babies two weeks ago) and I’ve been binge watching all of your videos. I just can’t get enough of your content!!! So easy to digest and informative!! Thank you

I think the big pallidiflorum leaf is going to be fine! It would be showing signs already I think, if it were going to fall/die. I have mine taped together, for real!!!
@ashleyjohnston43692 ай бұрын
I’ve done this too! I’ve put tape over a couple breaks in the past, and I had the taped leaves for ages.

Hi Claire, just started watching and wanted to let you know, when I have broken or torn leaves I put a piece of masking tape on the back of the leaf (cut nicely in shape so it’s not too ugly) and in the case of the torn middle rib I would do it in the front, too. If you like, you can colour it green with acrylic paint to camouflage it. I have had really great success with that and saved quite a few leaves this way. Also, it protects it from getting any worse. Good luck, love your videos and your vibe!❤

I've done this with paper stitches, and it worked a treat.

Begonias are just extremely easy. They kind of grow in everything. Mine are in Vulkatec. I own two different sorts and cut back regularly, cause I have a huge Corallina begonia and 3 babies. Another one I brought to the office. The Rex I bought in a discounter lost all leaves after I repotted it from soil to my mineral substrat. It needed some time but now has 10 beautiful red/black leaves and it has already flowered.

Wow, Claire, my pallidiflorum’s largest leaf is 8cm, so a long journey ahead of me 😃 yours is so gorgeous ❤

The Bearded Plantaholic has incredible begonia displays. I've just started getting into begonias, as well. I'm using an orchid bark (fine), perlite, potting soil, and fluval stratum mix in self watering pots. So far it's going well 🤞🤞🤞 I look forward to keeping up with yours 😊

Just catching up on videos of yours as I have been away for the last 3 weeks in Mexico! I found so many amazing plants there but sadly I wasn't allowed to bring them home on the plane. I would love a palidiflorum like yours. I think the leaf will be fine. I have do that before too and plants have been fine. Great video as always!

Hi Claire! Just wanted to let you know that those plastic moss poles typically have a thin protective film on one side and I don't recall you removing it in the last video. I'm sure it doesn't really matter for the plant but wanted to give ya a heads up! Love your videos as always and I hope you enjoyed your vacation :)

First off im excited to see your Pallidiflorum care video. I just got a very very small seedling in the mail and would love all of the ins wnd outs on how to keep that kid happy 💚 Secondly your Sarawak is stunning 😍😍😍 the Sarawak is one of my favorites... Probably my most favorite houseplant in my collection 💚💚

Hi Claire ! Love your videos! I never had a love for plants until last year. I would kill everything but then last year I started with the same Mexican oregano and I loved it soooo much that I started buying more and more plants. I’m at 15 😂😂😂😂😂🥰🥰🥰🥰✨

The alocasia leaf will size up quite a bit. Leaves of my alocasia zebrina and black stem always come out half the size of their final result if you know what I mean. And probably it is a bit annoyed about being repotted. These are such divas 🙄 Also I learned from Memo that you have to really keep up with watering when a new leaf is formed.

My alocasia polly has recently done the same thing with a super big gorgeous leaf followed by a little tiny one! The big one was the first growth in about a year and was quickly followed by the small one, fingers crossed we get some lovely big leaves to compliment the adorable tiny ones again soon 🤞🏻

Hi Claire!! Your Pali is gorgeous!! I think the leaf will be fine. I feel for you. A very similar thing happened to me and my large Vittarifolium. I snapped its largest ever leaf while trying to support it. I ended up making it into a reel on my TT because I had to document the despair! It was so sad. lol. I feel like yours will be ok! The APT will take off! I bought mine when he was about that same size. A year later and it’s a bush!! It was a little slow to start but when it got settled it just took off! Beautiful plants!! 🌱 Sending love from FL!

Begonias have similar care as aroids, so you can easily keep one if you are good with the other. Cane begonias like yours, and rhizomatous begonias, will have slightly different needs. I prefer the latter because they just seem tougher.

My Begonia Sinbad was what made me want more Begonia too! I had a Maculata for a couple years and never felt like I wanted more but then I got my Sinbad and suddenly couldn't stop buying new Begonias 😂

Claire, you might be struggling with the Regale because you can't give it the humidity it needs. They like super high humidity to grow properly. They can under very specific circumstances live at slightly above 60% (this is very much dependent on the specific plant and how it copes) but to really make them happy they want >80%. And they like a lot of water since they grow so close to rivers. I can recommend you a shop (since I don't want to advertise a shop without your permission) that has great information that is based on their own experiences and research papers on the Regale if you want. And I only specifically recommend this shop because they talked about the Regale and were honest enough not to recommend it as a houseplant.

Can chopping plants down to small nubs create weakness and so in turn pests attack as they do tend to be drawn to weak plants (?) The two Begonias I had died due to the terrible heat we had this summer Lots of them here in our Box stores" and they are lovely but I wont be replacing Pallidiflorum is on my wish list ! Love your videos especially the long ones!

I think for the dragons breath its normal, as its scientific name ist heterophylla, which means "different leaves", so I think the leaves differ in form and size, hence the name.
