I am the only vegan in my family. So every time when I cook one of your recepies they love it! My goal is to incorporate less and less meat, fish and dairy. It is not up to me to tell my husband and sons to go vegan...but to give them options. It is because of you, that I am vegan for almost 8 months and I thank you for that ! Keep doing what you are doing! Love from Germany 😉

Hey Nadine A! I cook for my family vegan things as well, but they really like meat 😕
@catherinebennett19864 жыл бұрын
I agree you need to give people options you can't demand that people become vegan they have to come to it in their own time . Well done I have just passed the year mark.
@nadinea42594 жыл бұрын
Hi, I can imagine that it is difficult when your family loves meat. I am lucky, that my husband and children prefer vegetables rather than meat. What I do, is substitute real meat whith the vegan version...like Gaze’s lasagne ( so good), or greek meatballs , I’ve done them with vegan minced meat. A chicken salad with vegan chicken, burger with beyond meat, etc...And when they want to eat a steak, I prefer bying them organic and paying a little bit more. But what really worked with my family was, that I cooked them « normal » things, and for me vegan meals....and almost every times they asked me why I didn’t do it for them as well. So I cook a lot more vegan for us all, and every friday I ask them what they want to eat on the week-end, so everybody can have something they like. Maybe you can do the same .... Just baby steps...😉
@nadinea42594 жыл бұрын
Hi, congratulations on your one year mark! The first couple of weeks I’ve tried to convert my husband to go vegan, and I couldn’t understand why he refused it...so sometimes we argued about that. But after that, I remembered what Gaz has said in one of his videos, is to let the cooking speaking rather than arguing. And it works! And I have to say that I can’t believe that I am eating vegan for 8 months now. 😉

@French blue8 You're not wrong at all, really, but you don't need to lay it on so heavy just coz this guy isn't vegan (so it seems anyway 😅). This is one of the many problems with the vegan movement. Instead of using education and the same compassion we show towards the animals and earth, a lot go straight in for the hard sell... Which for anyone who has been a teenager knows if you say one thing with force and negative conatations, the likely result is that the person it's directed at will do the opposite. I didnt have a non-stick pan so this made quite a mess in my stainless pan but i still managed to rescued the balls and cooked them 20min in the oven instead of 10 to make them crispy. I also replaced the buckwheat with gluten flour to make them extra chewy. Texture was fantastic!

Firstly...Yes! Yes! Yes to cooking with your dad!!! These dishes are really exciting, so thank you very much for these easy, no-fuss recipes. I'm not a vegan, but I don't eat any meat or animal products for the same reason...animals are precious! Over the years I've tried tofu and seitan but really disliked them, and I'm not that keen on Quorn, so I stopped looking for meat replacements a long time ago. Now I use mushrooms, lentils, chickpeas, beans, plus soaked bulgar wheat, semolina or coarse cornmeal, black olives and diced fresh veggies to make my favourite burgers, pies, curry's, 'sausage' rolls and roasts etc. My friend and family love them. However, this tempeh looks and sounds very, very tempting so I'm definitely going to give it a try!!! Stay safe and well everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
