Great idea with the instant A frame, l'll give that a try. Here's a tip for you, when you finish your taught line hitch instead of feeding the workin end all the way through just feed a bight through & it becomes quick release. Cheers 🇨🇦

Use gorilla tape on both sides of your tarp at all tie-out points, also, use military trouser blousers at each tie out point, as "shock absorbers" vs the wind, or your tarp will soon be torn by the endless flapping in the wind. Lay enough brush on the tarp to stop the flapping., remove all sharp corners on the brush, which will abrade the tarp.

Love being under a tarp when camping ( all be it in a hammock ) so much better than being cut off from the outside by the walls of a tent. Me it's a loop and a twig ai one end of the ridge line and a truckers hitch at the other.

I prefer the truckers hitch on the ridge line but the prusik and taut line hitch are standard procedure. Love the method for the sticks

thanks for the demonstration, Wooly! Also - why not using shock-cord to fix the tarp? (and c'mon - throw the stick when Bruno asks so nicely!!)

Not sure , just something I've never done, there's probably a reason lost in time somewhere

I never use toggles and prussics. But you don't need a toggle. Just add another knot to your prussic. Then feed the line through the tarp from the top and then go back to the prussic and put the knot behind the other knot to secure. It works like a jungleknot so to say....

Hi, I'm new to bushcraft and a recent subscriber. Really enjoy your channel! Do you have any information, such as the length and diameter, about the rope you are using for the ridge line and prussicks. I'm not sure what I need, or how much of it!
