*The reason is mostly because foreigners are known to be more responsible when it comes to finances and family. However, not all foreigners are there for "good intentions". So just be wary. But in a general thought, from what i've learned there.. they want a life partner that wants to be with them and to care for them. Family is a big factor to Filipinas so if you take them to another country.. they will eventually miss their home, family and friends. I would rather stay in Phili then go back home. Somebody said sometime ago that a relationship doesn't really start until after the first serious argument. From that point on an HONEST relationship has a chance to develope. It broke my heart when I first raised my voice to my filipina wife. She was deeply hurt, but I could no longer stand a few things about her. I finally let her know. We have been married for 24 years. Plenty of trials have come and gone. I tell all that plan to have a relationship with anyone...give more than you take. Not even that much more. 51% from each person results on 102%. The 2% is the magical part! Also, do not expect people to give what they are either UNWILLING or UNABLE to give. Finding out what those things are PRIOR to a commitment of marriage (mirage) is highly recommended.

I hope everything works out for you both if Chrissy doesn't plan to move with you to the US. To be honest it's better that she makes that decision without any pressure because things can change quickly if she was feeling stressed from being away from home and her family. Another factor obviously is how much you trust eachother. Really wish you both the best. All relationships come with the occasional stressful and rocky moments. It's just a matter of how you ride the waves

That's the challenge for you, Tim. Many filipinos are family oriented, so much that they don't want to live too far from their parents/family. That is the culture here, we make sure that we can look out and take care of our parents as much as possible and being so far away ruins it. If you manage to convince Chrissy to live with you in the US or somewhere away from The Philippines then it's good for you, but I'm seeing her reactions that she's like in no mood leaving the country (i mean moving to other country, but she seems excited to experience life in the US). Maybe when you successfully convince her, you can reassure her that you can visit Leyte at least twice a year, maybe 2 weeks per visit, a consolation for Chrissy. That is a very tough challenge and you must bring out your utmost patience, because what we wouldn't do for love?

Hmm...My 1st cousin married a Phili Gal 12 yrs ago. Last summer, I had a good 4 hour+ talk with her about marrying a Canadian and the situations and clashing-differing-habits that come with it, moving to Canada. It took her (Kat) 10 years to get over, get used to, the shock of the change of N.American culture vs. the more laid back, "small town" hospitable, social situation Philippines lives out. Even with a large Philippine community in British Columbia, that was still difficult overcoming being the feeling of being "removed" from what Kat left. What saved their marriage was fitting Kat into Ed's business, where she brought value to make Ed's business more competetive; not being idle stopped making her miss her homeland because she gets the chance to pull her weight. The similarities between Chrissy and Tim and Kat and cousin Ed are "size"...hahaha. Kat @ 100 and Ed @ 265.

One of my good friends is from the Philippines 🇵🇭 she met her English husband online like you both.. he visited her when he could.. she is younger than him too.. anyway long story short... she ended up having a beautiful child and living here in the uk 🇬🇧 she loves him a lot and works her ass off for her family.. she goes back yearly without her husband 😂 to her home town with her daughter.. she misses her family sooo much but has adjusted to life here in the uk so well. Once everything’s good with her passport maybe just bring her to USA 🇺🇸 for a month or so... let her live and see how it is for her.. when you really love each other there are no boundaries and things do work out in the end.. there will always be cultural differences but you learn to work around that.. Hey Tim. You might try applying a K1 visa for Crissy here in the States. Once your petition is approved and US Embassy in the Philippines issue her a visa to travel to the US, she has 90 days to experience life in America. And if she doesn’t like it, she can depart back to the Philippines. And if you really love her, then you can then move to the Philippines and build a bungalow with solar panel (with all that sunlight) by the beach.

Sadly you can. If the girl ends up in the West she will start to have the same attitudes of the feminist cows in the West after only a few short months. I'm from Canada and the Filipinas that live and work in Canada are totally different from the girls in the Philippines. The only thing that's alike is their looks. Best is to keep the province girl in the province. That's what I'm doing . My Filipina is from Bohol and she works in Manila and she has her own house in Bohol. A week after she started work in Manila she has already been hit on relentlessly by foreigner PUAs. It would be even worse in the West and she could cop an attitude if it continues.

My wife has been in Canada for 20 years, and although she is very modern and in many ways, independent, she is still a sweet visayas girl. Certainly not like western women, in fact, she frequently criticizes the way the women act here and that includes Filipinos,....I just got lucky!....cheers🍷

Sometimes in third world countries the mistake that you made was not having a bribe. I know some people might say we shouldn’t encourage bribery by participating but it is the reality in many countries. Many decades ago we used to bring the immigration officers “gifts” when we went to get documents at government offices. Those “gifts” guaranteed your documents would be done the first time around. Today it’s not as prevalent but it still exists.
