But women need to be submissive to men... And men should love and respect women. Women Can't be the dominant in the relationship like many Filipina try to do. It is not natural and even against what is written in the bible Ephesians 5:22-35: 22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands. 25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.

New to this channel, but like the solid content. Things are often different between he culture, with regard to being "wild in the bedroom." My provincial wife does get tired up, and lots more. She would have been happy with "the basics" as others have said, but she has embraced her kinkier side, thanks to my desires, and our intimacy is wonderful. As to dominant or submissive (outside of the bedroom) I don't think of myself as "dominant", but as leading and assertive. I certainly respect my wife's opinion and encourage her to voice it. As for retirement there, I have too many health issues that require regular maintenance to live over there long-term. I can understand why it is an option for some.

I have always found it very strange that many Western men describe wanting to find a "Traditional" province girl, and very often in the next sentence mention expecting a wife to be submissive. I can only speak from my own experiences with my wife and other Flipinas I have met, but submissive isn't a quality I would use to describe them, traditional, yes, at least in the sense that many Western men interpret it. While a Filipina may have the man take the lead in public, behind the scenes it is a full partnership. I liked the word, Rob and Chrissy used, "Copilot." Jerry, it sounds like you were lucky enough to have something similar with your wife. It reads like you have many wonderful memories with your wife to cherish.

Hi Rob & Chrissey, have enjoyed your experiance in CdeO to date. One thing I must however mention regarding a relationship is God forbid should anything happen that leaves Chrissey on her own. My own wife of 40 plus years continued her career as a graduate of Xavier University up until I retired in 2008 and we moved to the Philippines. As a result of her working she was able to contribute to the pension chest although I always had good jobs and salaries myself. Consequently she on retiral has the UK state pension and a pension from her employer in her own right. As my wife used to remind me whats the point of an education if you don'r use it. She said her brain would turn to Tinola through lack of use. There is 11 years between my Asawa and myself and during my 40 plus years of association between myself and the Philippines I can honestly say I have seen it done it and wear the Tee Shirt and I would not change a bit except have come to the Philippines a little earlier in my life lol !!!. Best wishes to you both.

My concern as well, including food borne illness due to poor regulation/sanitation if you eat out frequently. Many Expat vloggers talk about it taking a few months to "adjust" to the food. My feeling is, they're really adjusting to the bugs in the food, i.e., viruses/parasites/bacteria, etc. Not fun, especially if you're not in the best of heath to begin with.

At 0:10, what a beautiful lady, what a beautiful view... I'm wondering, is an American citizen still not allowed to own property in the PH ? Just like most Asian countries, non citizens are not allowed to own land or homes... Also, do cell phones from the United States work in the Philippines ? or would I need to buy one there...

No land ownership, some international plans work but expensive, better to buy sim here

About cooking and chubby Filipinos: My in-laws asked if I knew how to cook. I assured them I could. They said good because Lyn can't! After over 12 years now she has become a very good cook, although she did ask me to cook once for a big Filipino party. I did the pork ribs, lasagna, etc. Turned out it was my birthday party including my family from out of state! Lyn and our 100% Filipino son eat 3X what I eat! She is still about 5'7" and 110 pounds and hardly varies an ounce. The puny little boy that came over with his mom is almost 6 feet now and built like a rock! BTW, Lyn is from Davao and her brother is fairly tall and fit and looks like he could have been cast in Dances With Wolves. Lord I wish I had their hair!

The only downside I've found with Asian women is jealousy. Currently I have a Chinese girlfriend in Shanghai, whom I'm about to marry. We have a fabulous relationship and get on extraordinarily well, with one exception.....jealousy. She doesn't seem to understand that i have a lot of friends and colleagues, many of whom just happen to be female. I'm hoping that as time passes she'll become more relaxed and less jealous of female friends and colleagues whom I've known for many years, before I met my girlfriend.

One thing to understand about Filipinas... they are partly Latina. This was a Spanish colony for a long time. They aren't submissive, trust me!!! But, at least with my wife, she is a GREAT co-pilot. My original intention was to live in the Philippines with my wife. But, things happened in the US that forced me to come back here, and I gave my wife a choice. She didn't want to live a long time without me while I took care of things in the US, so she came here with me. We've been married almost 6 years, after being together 2 1/2 years in the Philippines. My wife and I have had a lot of similar expectations and found similar realities.
@Steven-t9s8 ай бұрын
They were there a long time before the Spanish came but that would be an interesting subject to delve into the history of the indigenous Filipino.

@@FlyMeToThePhilippines My wife adjusted well. The biggest problem for me was that she didn't want to be a homemaker, she wanted to work and make her own money. She's very smart, but she had to work to support her family in the Philippines even though she's the youngest of 6, because she's the smartest. She started a business for her family that is still their income today. Anyway, in the US, Amazon will hire anyone. She got hired easily, now she's a manager (5 years later). She loves it here. Like me, she's more of a loner and doesn't like to go out a lot or party or anything. Neither of us drinks or smokes. She has a group of friends, mostly Filipino, that she occasionally hangs out with. To be honest, not much really changed between living in the Philippines and living in the US. We have to drive more, so she got her driver's license. We both work, spend a lot of time together when we are off, and travel a lot. Like I said, we spent quite a bit of time living together in the Philippines, so we knew each other. Nothing much really changed, except we both work now and we have less time together. So we enjoy our time together more here in the US.

@@Steven-t9s My wife's last name was Canatoy. Her family had Spanish descent for certain. Most of her friends also have Spanish names. Not all, obviously, have Latina in them. But enough. And she 100% has the attitude, hahaha. We lived in Baguio for over a year, and I think, in that area, they are less likely to have Spanish descent.

@@Murph_. They all have Spanish names and lots of towns and cities in the Philippines are named after Spanish places but they don't speak Spanish.

Whatever flaws the US has, good customer service is not one of them. We have the best customer service in the world. If Chrissy buys a dress in any store in the US and decides she wants to return it and get her money back within 30 days, they will always take it back and not ask any questions. Any Americans living abroad have to accept how spoiled we are here and it's not going to be like that anywhere else.

It seems to me Filipinas want a man who "leads" but not in a tyrant/slave dynamic, but rather, a Captain/First Officer relationship. Here in the States, women will say they want a man to lead, but then wrestle him for Captaincy, which destroys the relationship. Just my .02.
