She believed she could - So she did! Congratulations to my daughter Mary. People may forget what she said, people may forget what she did. But people will never forget how she made them feel. I am so proud of her. Thank you to everyone who has supported and encouraged her along the trail. I am one lucky Mum. x

Tinker Bell...Of all the compliments I could give you about your grit, perseverance, dedication to actually walk the entire trail, and your unquenchable positive attitude, there is one that to me is so very special and it is this: From start to finish you have kept your videos "clean"...never any vulgar, profane, or offensive language, never any glorification of consuming alcoholic beverages, and never any disrespect to the One who is the source of the amazing wilderness through which you trekked. Well done, thru-hiker. Thank you for being an ideal role model for the youth of land, who unfortunately have far too few like you to influence them. Even though you have left and gone home, your inspiration and influence in the lives of countless young people will forever remain here. Congratulations!!!

You said it! You are 100% correct. Nothing vulgar. No attacks on the Creator(Jesus). Just wonderful observations, kindness, and honesty, even when the trail was extremely difficult. She is a blessing. And I enjoyed every minute of her vids.

What has Mary taught us? You don't have to act or look tough to be tough. There is immense power in positive thinking. A vegan diet will provide enough calories and nutrition to complete a though hike. One thing I will miss about Mary's videos: Hearing words like porridge and sachet that we don't usually hear in the States. Thanks so much for sharing your incredible journey.

I too have watched you from the beginning. I recently retired and was in a rut watching KZbin videos at the breakfast table. Somehow I stumbled onto your very first video and was hooked. The way you share your story every day is amazing. I was never bored nor did I fast forward. In the beginning I couldn't wait for the next "Good morning!", but nearing the end of your journey I was slowing down on viewing your videos. I did not want your PCT to end either. Thank you for sharing this season of your life with us. As a special note to you Mary, you planted a seed in me that became a dream, and inspired me to live it. Since July this year, I section hiked on the Appalachian Trail twice, the John Muir (section) and part of the PCT just recently from Campo to Lake Morena before the weather turned very cold. At nearly 65 years old and never backpacked before, thank you for getting me off the couch. Yes we lived the PCT through you but you have sprinkled your "pixie dust" on the world through the internet. God bless you and your family and many fruitful adventures to you.

Mary, your successful completion of the PCT was extraordinary. In a year where probably 80+ percent gave up or skipped the Sierras, you persevered. When you had a bad self-arrest experience, you went on when many would have quit or skipped the rest of the Sierras. When you broke two ribs, you went on when almost anyone else would have quite. You did all this with style, with intelligent actions and with a good spirit. It has been a privilege to have followed your journey, and I look forward to anything you you choose to share in the future. Well done, Mary! Well done!

I have watched people on there thru hikes on all trails for the past 4 yrs from there start to finish and there has not been a single one that has made my more emotional lol. From your signature “Good Morning” To the amount of joy and happiness you show that being in nature can bring to your soul. And now seeing the emotion flow as you wind it up really shows the strength and effort it takes to complete something so amazing. Congratulations Mary.

Myself not even knowing there was a PCT, I received one of and maybe even your first video which popped up as a recommended view this spring. I remember commenting to that video something like; "beautiful scenery, beautiful food and a beautiful voice". 189 days later and it was all the same, a true testimony to genuineness of which was on full display on that bridge, the completion point of a journey that will never be replicated. Congratulations on your "that's it", just two little words with 6,500,000 steps behind them.

Your journey hasn't ended... just this singular chapter of it. It will be interesting to see what the future chapters behold regardless if hiking poles or a backpack if needed. Thanks for sharing of this video chapter as it is greatly appreciated. [note: I did the PCT 35 years ago and technology, communications and equipment have dramatically changed but the trail itself still tells the same story to those who traverse it and embrace its challenge and that is truly a good thing.]

I have learned not to doubt the strength and determination of other people -- especially women. Time after time, I have seen people rise to the occasion, reach down for strength they weren't sure they had, and show true grit and grace. You personify this, Mary. Your journey has been truly inspiring and uplifting. Many of us will never get to all of the places you've shown us. But we can aspire to greet every day with purpose, good sense and fortitude. And maybe we'll sometimes have your cheerfulness. Thanks for all of the videos, and thanks for your example. What a magnificent thing you've done! You are truly awe-inspiring.

Hi Mary, Great job. I watched almost all of your videos. Since I am turning 70 so hiking the PCT brought back a lot of memories. I did the the Oregon to Canada section in 1970 at the age of 16 when it was called the Cascade Crest Trail. Since then I have climbed many mountains all over the world. You should consider doing the Colorado Trail, 480 miles. A few months ago I finished the Pennine Way, England C2C and the Southern Upland Way in one year. Remember put your best foot forward. Tinkerbell, thank you for sharing everything with us. Your journey has meant so much to me. I admit that in the beginning, I didn't think you would make it. You are so sweet and sweet people are not tough. Oh, but you are truly a rare gem. You have taught me not to judge, not to give up and to keep a positive attitude. Thank you for the lessons. Now I will share my favorite Dumbledore quote, " It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities." ATB

Ah Mary, you brought tears to my eyes on this one. I have watch every single one of your days on the PCT. I am also sad it is ending but happy you can go home and get some rest and be with your loved ones. About 4 years ago I was reading a friends post from her hike on the PCT and I mentioned to her that I was living the adventure of hiking the PCT through her because I would never be able to do it myself. I'm old (63), overweight and I also have chronic pain for as long as I can remember. She told me I can do this too and she would be willing to hike with me if I really wanted to do it. I decided to take her up on that and we hiked that summer around the Mt Adams in Washington State. The next year I hiked solo from White pass to Chinook Pass. I'm planning on Goat Rocks this summer. I'm just doing a section at a time, but I still feel great satisfaction of accomplishment. This summer I can retire so I will have more time to hike even more. I have seen the determination and perseverance in you in this hike. You are a amazing woman! I'm sure you can do anything you want in life and you are also an inspiration to others like myself. -Rock-

Thank you so very much for your kind and lovely words Chris. That is such great news to hear you are hiking and soon get to do more. Your friend sounds very supportive. I'm sorry to hear you also suffer with chronic pain, it certainly helped me hiking more as not only did I feel better for being out in the fresh air, but I used to think 'I have pain anyway so I may as well be out doing something nice'

Mary - What a awesome journey you shared with us over these several months. You are a class act with your choices of nature, lakes, animals and the weather. I appreciated your positive upbeat attitude and your sweet accent with an uplifting words. I looked forward at the end of each day to see where you had been. I have only hiked various sections of the PCT during the Calif summers with a diversion last summer to Mt. Whitney in Jul19. You are very brave to trek thru all weather conditions and spent a lot of time spent in solitude. Congrats on a well deserved accomplishment! I'm sure a lot of us viewers felt those tears at the end too. There needs to be more quality KZbinrs like you!

Wow! What an incredible achievement. We all knew you would make it to the end Tinkerbell. Despite her damndest with some foul weather at times, Mother Nature sent her little critters out to keep an eye out for you. With your positive never-say-die attitude to the trail, & life in general it seems, & loved ones’ support, there was no way you were going to quit. Glad you didn’t listen to those naysayers. I’m extremely grateful, as I’m sure my fellow watchers of yours’ are too, to have had the honour & privilege of following you along the trail. I know it wasn’t easy. You are truly an inspiration to everyone, with an uplifting spirit of heart. A warm glow you radiate to the world; its nature & people. Cherish these memories; I know you will. “Good morning” will never be the same again. P.S. Since around day 80 or so, I’ve found myself whistling/humming one of the accompanying tunes you have had on your vlogs; at work or out walking. Don’t know its name, but I seem to whistle it when I’m happy, just chilled or just enjoying the moment as you were. An example of some of the small ways you have permeated your viewers’ lives, not just the inspirational ones. P.P.S. I’d read any book you’d write. Thank you.

Dear Mary, this was the most beautiful and emotional end of a thruhike I've seen - and I've seen a lot. Congratulations!!!! I've started to watch your videos while you're training for the PCT and when you finally started your journey but somehow got lost on the way to watch your videos simply through life. I will definitly take the time to watch them all because I missed so many of them. With your absolutly amazing happy attitude, gratitude and determination you deserverd to make this wish come true for you. If there would be more people like you on this earth - this would be a much better place - but in fact it's a greater place because of you. You shared your thoughts, feelings and the whole adventure with us and put so much effort and heart in it to take us with you - thank you so much for that. I had to cry.....because of joy that you finished this dream and of sadness because you finished it. Keep this mindset, your happiness, gratitude and heartwarming friendliness with you and there will be people who buy your book for sure. You're an inspiration and example how people can achieve their dreams with a great attitude, an eye for all this beauty in our world and the gratitude for all the little things in life we take for guaranted. I've learned so much from you, am thankful that I found your channel and looking forward to see all the things you planned. Again congratulations, a virtual hug and greetings from Germany.

Congratulations Mary and I will truly miss watching your daily travel on the PCT. It was the highlight of my day.... your positive and uplifting attitude has changed how I look at things....Thank You! You should feel very proud of yourself for there are not many people in this world that can say they have walked the entire PCT. I even doubt that many individuals on the PCT 2600 miler list really walked the entire trail, but you have documented every mile which is proof you truly accomplished this goal. Also, I just wanted to throw this Trail Magic out there.... If it works with our schedule my wife and I could give Derek a ride from the San Diego Airport to Campo if he still plans to hike the PCT next year. We live just an hour north of San Diego Airport.Happy Trails

Mary, you have been my bedtime companion for the past several weeks as I watched your PCT journey from beginning to end. What an incredible adventure and what an amazing achievement that you will, no doubt, remember and talk about for the rest of your life. It is quite remarkable that you managed to film almost every single day over such a long period and even more remarkable how cheerful, bright and bubbly you were throughout. It's hard to believe that you turned 40 on the trail and I hope that your childlike sense of wonderment and excitement and the finding of joy in the simplest of things is still with you when you turn 60. I will definitely buy the book when it comes out but meanwhile I shall start watching the rest of your videos with added interest.

Mary, what an emotional end to an amazing journey. My fiancé and I have watched your trek every day since you first arrived in America so many months ago. We looked forward to escaping our own daily trials and tribulations by sitting with our dinner, flipping on KZbin, and following your progress. We were awed as you boldly went where so many hikers failed to go this season, we felt your highs and lows, we laughed when you laughed (which was often), we admired your spirit and stamina, and in the end, we cried when you cried. Congratulations from Jeff and Barb in Rochester, Washington. Not sure what lies ahead for you, but we look forward to re-living your monumentous achievement through your future writings and staying in touch via your KZbin channel, which we dearly hope you continue to keep alive. I remember back to when I first watched your day 1 video of training for the PCT and thinking there is something special about this young lady, and sure enough I was right. Your journey from the border of California/Mexico to Canada has been an incredible thing to follow. I wrote you once about your bubbly personality and how special that is and how you were able to keep that day after day, month after month, is a testimony to who you are as a person. I agree with an earlier post that I too will miss your "good morning" greeting on each video. But having watched this final video, like so many others, brought me to tears as if I was ending the journey myself and was feeling what you were feeling. Mary you are an inspiration and I'm sure the people you met along the way were touched by your tenderness and kindness, and will never forget you. I would have loved to meet you around the Oregon/California border, I live near there, but that didn't work out. Thank you for your videos, and thank you for giving us a more in depth look into who Mary Mansfield is. God bless.

How appropriate to wake to a beautiful day with the tree's singing to you! I will miss your hike and PCT adventures Mary and so appreciate you sharing with us! You have been that bit of sunshine this office worker needed in her day to remember that kindness, cheerfulness and optimism is possible no matter what you are experiencing. I work in a court and cheerfulness is not something that is abundant here, such is the work. It must be produced from within and maintained consciously. Often I would return to my office after my lunch a better person because I have chilled and relaxed watching your video. Am looking forward to watching your vlogs and possible hikes in the future! Congratulations PCT thru hiker!

Well Mary, it certainly has been fun. It went by so fast. Good things usually do. I can’t begin to tell you how much I have enjoyed this adventure. You certainly have raised the bar here, so well done. I want to thank you for the effort of tirelessly taking me with you. It was hard I am sure. I love the way you brought the viewer with you on all aspects of the trail. Meals, camp life, zero’s, trials and tribulations. The photography was amazing. I think the thing I will remember most is your relationship with the trail, the scenery, what the trail gave and what it took but most of all the animals. I think that wind at the end and the squirrel were saying good bye. Come back any time, we are here. Best!

Congratulations to a monumental achievement! Now knowing a bit of your back ground with pain and other adversities makes the completion of your PCT hike even more glorious...with smartness, high spirit and always with a beautiful smile on your face you went head on against everything mother nature threw at you...showing emotions and relief and even sadness when the end is so eminently close is another sign of your commitment and determination...this video made my eyes tear up to...I´m so happy for you, now that you have finished the trail and are back in the UK with Derek and your family and friends...All the best to both you and Derek, and hopefully we will se more of your adventures in the future...Love from Sweden

Just finished watching all your thru-hike videos. An exceptional accomplishment unusually well documented. There may be others on the trail who are stronger than you, but I don't think anyone can top your steady determination. I'm glad you didn't die. I thought your decision to skip ahead to Washington State was entirely practical. While you were struggling through the snow in southern Oregon, I kept wondering what trail conditions were like at the same time in the North Cascades. I especially liked the final Forest Gump quote at the end of your last video. Congratulations on a job well done.

Your honest and open feelings as you experienced the trail and how you expressed those feelings was delightful, through you I have also experienced the trail. How fortunate you are to get a daily message and inspiration from your mom. Thank you for sharing your perseverance to start and finish this journey...although it doesn't really get finished, it just evolves. I start my hike of the PCT in 2021 at age 67. It's been inspirational following along on your trip. But more than the perseverance and resilience you showed, or the fact that you completed every last mile of the PCT, most impressive was the style and grace (yes, grace... a few stumbles are expected, the grace comes into play in your response) and kind heart you demonstrated through the entire journey.

I can't believe you have gone through years of pain and were able to accomplish one of the most difficult hikes. Thank you for opening up and sharing your personal life experience. It gives me hope and inspiration to persevere. Maybe keep that comment as a reminder of what you've done and maybe the person, who made that ignorant comment, will learn a good life lesson that true winners are those who have the strongest and the most beautiful spirit. Go little feet vegans! This is the most heart piercing touching video because your opened your heart to us, complete strangers, who you will never meet in person. I tried to comment on most of your videos but It was hard to comment when my mum passed away two months ago and I just watched and smashed that like button. I hope your will make an audio book. I would love to listen to your voice while riding my bike, it would be so inspirational. Love that last PCT breakfast and packing the tent scene, it is so emotional. Who hasn't cried at the end of the PCT? It hurts too much to say goodbye to something so amazing but life journey never ends. The mountains are calling and I must go🥰🔥💕🙌👣
