The kids are in school… just not public school. My opinion is homeschool is an important priority so I’d rather work evenings or weekends and still homeschool. Also once you have a couple kids, they don’t get that much more expensive with each additional one. As long as you’re still using hand me downs and not buying new baby gear each time. They’ll start to get expensive closer to teen age again but at that point these folks can have their debt cleared and teenagers can get jobs for the things they want, not necessarily need.

They did have more than enough income so how did they ever get so upside down? Time to stop spending and live on 50% of their income and send the rest to debt reduction. The good news is unless you live in a high-income tax and high property-tax location, your taxes will be very low.

That mission trip is sunk money. The trip itself takes earned money out of the house because he is not working. That mission trip should be given to someone else in the church. Don't send good money after bad money. Jesus will understand.

She justifies it by saying the trip has already been paid for; I guarantee there will be spending on the trip that has not been paid or accounted for up to this point.
