It would be good to hear your thoughts on what worked well, what didn't, areas to improve on, etc. It's hard going into a competitive situation without being 100% healthy. You need your big first serve, and especially on a surface like grass, that kind of weapon can make a difference.

This is my first video of yours that I've come across and I'm looking forward to following your journey! Considering this was your first hit on grass at all this year, that result is probably to be expected. From the looks of it, your opponent was simply on fire, he was slugging that ball and painting lines! Weirdly, (and from only having seen this video) I think you have a game style that could suit grass! You have a pretty big serve, you had the ability to win points easily with the serve-forehand combo, you knew you had to be aggressive and come forward and you played some amazing volleys! You also clearly have good tennis IQ. I think if you improved your slice backhand you'd have some more success, I thought there was a few times there where you could have come in off the slice because he often just tried to get the ball back off that shot, but you stayed back and he was dominant from the back of the court. Anyway! Best of luck, I have subscribed and I look forward to following!

College-level player here. If i could do it all again, i would copy Cam Norrie's strokes on both sides. Racket goes to side immediately and wrist take back gives you the small C. Short takeback means less late hits, thus less trauma on the body and better ROS. Also shorter backswing means hitting higher % in front and better leverage. Maybe a little less power than a full swing but it sure worked for Cam, a good college player in Texas, then 5 years later, top-10 in World. Just my 2 cents.

Welcome back, any advice on tennis elbow? How long does it take to recover, if you play while still experiencing pain from it?
@LukeHuber2 жыл бұрын
It won't recover if you continue to use it, depending on the severity it can take a few months to completely heal, but there are some braces and exercises/stretches that can help you considerably. I would advise resting it for a few weeks while stretching it and stuff and then using a braces to play for awhile. I just got over it myself and it was super annoying. I would also say to look up some videos on KZbin cause there's some really helpful out there.
@jonathanchen10262 жыл бұрын
@@LukeHuber so you think after a few weeks or so it’ll be playable? I tried one of the braces before, didn’t feel like it did much. Can’t even backhand slice with the way the elbow/forearm feels 😭
@LukeHuber2 жыл бұрын
@@jonathanchen1026 yeah, if you look it up on KZbin you can find the exact way it effects your elbow, but basically it's just from incorrect stress, once it happens you really just have to rest it. I played with it for a few weeks but then broke my arm and took a 2 months break from tennis, it was getting worse while I kept playing but after that couple of months of rest it was mostly gone. I used a brace and it helped quite a bit but it can't completely solve the issue. Also, using a softer string and/or softer tension can help relieve the stress on your arm, and it's worth having your coach look at your swing carefully because it can be an incorrect swing that is putting the pressure on it. For me, I had to fix my swing and change strings before it completely went away.

Hi Felix, her is a tip when serving please throw the ball in front of you and not behind you and you also have to learn to pull an your legs and to jump off just look at the serve technic from isner. I say that because you first serve currently looks like a slow second serve what has something to do with your ball throw if you throw the ball in front of you you can go so much much more threw the ball and your also having a better court position than because you are standing than inside the court, if you go threw like this what i explained

Felix - I played a lot of State tournaments before the age of 21 and almost all my matches had long BH to BH rallies. I felt if a guy beats me with his BH, he deserves it but I do not want him hitting tons of FHs. The more BHs the opponent hit, the more likely I will win the match. If he runs around his BH, that means my BH is not angled or penetrating enough (my fault). Again, I do not see your BH to BH rallies? My advice is simple: Watch Ymer (ATP #99) matches. He loves to hit BH to BH medium pace all day long - letting the other guy go for the winner. You spend so much time training. Perhaps you just need to copy the strategy of a top-100 player. Best wishes!
