Unfortunately elbow pain is a big problem and if you are already experiencing it, it will not go away, it will only get worse. I remember having elbow pains aswell but I did manage to play with consistent preparation before training/matches. Those tapes will restrict alot of your movement so they are not really ideal. I had a special elbow support that I used when I had light pains and it helped a lot. Also before training and matches I would take 5-10 minutes to stretch the arm really well and moving the elbow while pressing and massaging the area that would hurt while also applying some pain gel. You also need to pay attention to the weight of your racquet and the string type and tension. This is a key factor to the elbow pains
@ehrenamtlicherehrenmann41522 жыл бұрын
Lots of pros experience elbow pain with a recent example being Tsitsipas. He changed his Strings and Tension to a more comforting one so maybe that could be something to change without changing the way one playes.
@cj_ssfsm2 жыл бұрын
No gluten.. Little amounts of dairy and meat. Stretching the elbow with weights. Like coach Dabul on KZbin shows... Yoga helps and lighter racquets. Lower string tension. Move to a co-poly or synthetic, multi for the crosses. Natural gut if you have the money..

I have elbow pain too I play tennis a lot I’m a 9.5 UTR big forehand and nice serve, what helped me relieve the pain was straightening out my arm when I hit a forehand and hitting the ball more in front. I tend to notice everytime I feel stress and pain on my elbow is when I hit the ball a little late and with a bent elbow. The bent elbow caused a lot of stress built up everytime I hit the ball especially when making contact with the ball late. Recap: 1.) hitting out in front (rather to the side of me) 2.) hitting it with a more straighter lengthen arm to not put stress on the elbow. There’s videos on KZbin for techniques to hit with tennis elbow, hope that helps. Great video 👍

Don't be explosive, work on agility, wider leg position, wider step, save half a step on an exchange and you'll save many steps, many calories... also on the horizontal move try not to cross your legs when you move. As for the elbow - check your tendons in your hand, a racquet with a thin frame can cause a lot of stress on them, which can then distribute upwards. Keep up the good work. You'll get there. Great content.

Happy Easter and good recovery to you! PS: I second Andrei below about racquet and string/tension choice. You're not going to hit less frequently or less hard any time soon so you should test out less punishing gear options; not sure how this interacts with your sponsorships, for rec players it's easy to switch to a large sweetspot light swing yonex, you may not have that option but you would be wise to find something easier than your current setup.
@Cameron-ue7lu2 жыл бұрын
Well done, Felix. Your high ranked games really are battle hardening you and keeping your bank account healthier :) Couple of spots, in my humble opinion: High rank players are super accurate servers sending the ball wide, down the T, and so it may help you to stand another metre back on receive to buy time. Also, you could think about slowing the game down when the player rushes you, mixing up the pace of your game, and also sending the ball slow and high from deep especially on back hand to give you a chance to reset. Also, how about going a little higher on the top spin, perhaps trying out 6 feet above the net Nadal style to create more pace and reduce errors. Again, hats off, great progress.
@Cameron-ue7lu2 жыл бұрын
Also, btw, the more relaxed you become in your game, the less issues you'll have with your arm. This was a revelation to me. Perhaps try and focus on extending your arm through the stroke Federer style. If its bent on contact you will suffer from tendon/joint issues in the area your physio was addressing. Maybe you've got one of those grip straighteners to build the muscles in that region too.

@tennisbrothers2 жыл бұрын
Yes you are of course right. - I think I did not clarified this in the video - The pain I had was caused by some strain in my arm. The physio checked me and said that it's not a injury that needs me to stop playing - so playing will not make it worse. It was just a thing where I need to play a bit less and I'm good again. We all agree that if it would be a injury that would cause more harm in playing - then I would stop. Sorry for not being clearer in the video ;-)
