I so disagree with anyone who says that you're 'glorifying' your studies - if anything, you're just extremely passionate about them, and it's something to admire, not judge :)

The only reason, it seems to me at least, that people may feel you are 'glorifying' your life is because you're genuinely having a gloriously good time, and maybe you are perhaps a touch surprised yourself just how well you fit with your choices of study, and their happy collision with your hobbies and passionate interests. You Go girl!

This sounds so cool! I felt the same when I studied Germanistik a few years ago. It's just so nice to be able to spend your days gaining knowledge about a topic your passionate about.

Hello Maria, I wanted to ask how do you deal with studying full time and not working? I ask because I am in a similar situation (started uni again) but I find that I am struggling with working and studying and was wondering what an alternative to that would be.

Thank you so much these videos. What you share and the way you share played a part in my decision in January to start a Masters in Literature and Creative Writing program. I've been out of school for a loooooooooooong time. And as you say, the framework and guidance these programs provides changes everything. It's taking a passionate hobby and giving me hope and a map that might make it my vocation. Many of us watching your videos know what you know: that one way to live better and more deeply and to flourish and to help others flourish is to be steeped in good literature. So, congratulations on your courageous decision to enroll and to make these videos, congratulations on your first semester, THANK YOU for your inspiration and I very much look forward to your future videos.

I don't think it happened before that I had tears in my eyes reading a comment. Wow. I'm so glad you've taken this step and thank you for sharing all of this with me. It means the world. At the end of Part 1 in "Swanns Way" (in my edition around p.180-190) he talks about wanting to be a writer and what it means to capture the hidden meaning of things in writing... and how exhausting it can be. An how beautiful. Anyways, after reading your comment yesterday I had to read that part again. All the best to you!
