MY FIRST 5 WEEKS OF UNIVERSITY!

In this video I talk all about my first 5 weeks studying at Kingston University as a midwifery student, and I discuss lectures, modules, skills days, and other bits and bobs that we have had to do so far!

This is so interesting, thank you for sharing! I start in September so I really appreciate the info about the course structure/workload, even though I’m going to a different university so I’m sure mine will be a bit different!

Good luck for September! I'm sure you will do great! The workload fluctuated throughout the year for us so sometimes you'll find yourself not doing much for the day, and another time you could be writing for like 12hrs a day😂as I'm coming up to the end of my first year now, I'll be making a video over the next few weeks to give a breakdown of my year academically and with placement too, which might be helpful for you to see so you get an idea of what your first year may be like? Heya, love your videos! With the shoes are they optional, I’ve seen mixed reviews on them?

Thanks hun! 😊 Do you mean the types of shoes you can wear for placement? If so, different trusts do have different policies, but it's definitely the safest option for going with shoes like mine, as it's normally shoes that have laces or aren't made out of as hygienic materials which are risky depending on trusts. The clarks unloops are great as they are wipeable, they cover the whole foot, and they're sooooooooo comfy!! Hope this helps xx

Hi, I am starting my midwifery degree next month and I have posted on student room a few times to try and meet other student midwifes. How and where did you get to meet others from your cohort? thanks for the videos, they are very helpful x

Hi, my university set up a Facebook freshers page where every new student in sep 2020 could get onto, and on that page we asked who the other student midwives were and not long after we started a WhatsApp group and gathered everyone off the Facebook group that were student midwives😊hope this helps! Just a quick question, did you have any sort of entrance exam before starting the course? x

I had to do an English and Maths test before I was allowed my interview for University of West London, but I really can't remember if I had to do the same for Kingston or not! x
