Great Trip Report! ive wanted to try the EY A35K product for some time now so it's good to see what it's like. As for the crew that seems to be an crew variable situtation. Ive flown with Emirates and Etihad 5+ times each Short Haul and Ultra Long Haul but they allowed me to film, never questioned me or anything, matter of fact on Emirates they let me walk into the Biz cabin for a better view of the engines and gave me cards signed by the crew upon landing. This rule seems to either be REALLY enforced or not at all lol.

i guess a better option is to contact the airline before traveling asking permission to shoot videos inside the plane. They might give you official permission to do so and there will be no one stopping you then.

Fun fact: Etihad and Emirates sometimes DO use the UAE privacy law as a justification to prevent people from filming, and that's TRUE. Qatar sometimes uses that excuse too - same with Korean carriers except LCC. I bet you must have dealt with an UAE or a Middle Eastern crew who is indeed notorious for such an enforcement. Your best bet is to contact them via Twitter and 9 times out of 10 they'll say OK. Nice vid as always!

Well based on my lesson learned, the best way is to send to their media relations team of the airlines and hope to get a good response but some airlines do not have that email and I think reaching out to their social media will not reach to the cabin crew assigned for your flight. It's a shame that Middle Eastern airlines tend to offer the best service in the world according to the general public where millions of passengers from around the world use every single day has some grey areas when it comes to passenger experience

@Travelstar98 : For me, use their Customer Service links. Based on my experience they'll have 3 answers: A. Ask crew B. Forward email to media relations C. Yes/no answer Middle Eastern carriers do have the tendency to do this and that is why I avoided them and stick to Asian carriers for my DFW returns. And yes, as you said, they won't usually tell the crew, and I'm not sure about the Middle Easterns - but with American Airlines and JAL, if you do provide proof that you have contacted the related departments, you're good. I know - I've experienced that once on JAL. That being said, perhaps because most Middle Eastern carriers' work ethic are based out of fear motivation, I'd say your crews instigated things by overreacting.

I dont like someone record me without permission but you didnt record any passenger so I think they over reacted and forget about sam chui he is fake he flies for free even though he says no but he is liar Chinese very disgusting person I heard from many cabin crews that she abuse the crew but speaking of Etihad they are over rated nothing special do they offered snack or hot towel?

Well it happened when I didn't take picture/video of poeple and the crew tried to become like "law enforcement" even though most of them are not from the UAE, weird! No hot towel and snacks given on this flight but on longer flights they do have a refreshment snack in addition to the hot meal

@@Travelstar98 I understand I saw that you didnt record anyone I am just saying I dont like when people record when I eat or sleep but if you record yourself and your food that's totally fine Qatar its the same!
