Much like my previous Unova playthrough of Pokémon Black , this is the first time I have ever played the second half of gen 5 games. I was a big fan of black, so I was looking forward to this one too, till you guys made me pick bugs! Just kidding, there are so many great bugs in this generation!

Gen 5 AI can be slightly random if it doesn't sense a kill. It has a tendency to prioritize speed control as well.

YES!!! Unova is my favorite region, and it made me love the bug type with its designs. Volcarona, Galvantula, Scolipede and Escavalier are some of my favorite mons overall. Glad to see you took our suggestion and I hope you had fun with the run!

Yeah gen 5 bugs are pretty great. Shuckle and heracross are still my favorite bugs, but escavalier and Vilcarona are pretty awesome. Joktic too.

Dude it was so cool to watch you play this with only bug type and it made me realize gen 5 (in my opinion) gave the best bug types surprisingly, like they also gave us a bug type legendary. Can't believe I only realized this now

Gen 5 bugs are pretty great. I honestly feel like bugs were given the short of the the stick consistently until around gen 4, when they finally stated getting some real big moves.

Great video Gen 5 has best bug types Sucks that Leavanny and Scolipede died like that Pinsir isn't bad but never had any good STAB moves in early games while at least Heracross could use his Fighting typing Glad to see it shine in this video

It may be that Ghetsis is one of those "random AI" trainers that cannot be predicted. That's all I can think of as to why he did what he did. Either way all you really needed was a snippy snapper and a shuckie to beat everything anyways!

The AI generally uses random moves against you, but they're constantly doing damage calculations against you. If they have an attack that is guaranteed to knock you out, they'll just use that instead.

I agree, but at least against eelektross, a flamethrower would easily have killed, acrobatics not even with a crit. It’s just really threw me off

You were full health, even with perfect dvs, since it has no evs right, you can live flame thrower at level 53. Eelektross isn't that strong and you have so much bulk. A tiny bit of invest, I don't know how you trained but maybe a lot of hp from the rustling grass pokemon, and with that or just a bit of spdef and you can live quite often. Edit: yeah wow you must have 252 hp evs, or more than 20 dvs in hp.

If you were planning on getting Pinsir in the lostlorn Forest, why not try to get either it or herracross(0.75 Pinsir on white and 0.25 chance herracross) with both having moxie on the hidden grotto there since in the info page it will say hidden grotto and not lostlorn Forest. Though to make it work you need to hunt for vespiquen in lostlorn in shaking grass so by dupes clause it removes any chance of getting combees in the hidden grotto there.

@@NuzlockeJoe basically either herracross or Pinsir with moxie, though there are some things that need to happen. In lostlorn Forest you need to repel manipulate encounters on rustling grass to get vespiquen, leavanny is also possible to be obtained by rustling grass but by dupes clause you are guaranteed a vespiquen. So in the upper part of the forest there is a hidden grotto you can either get combee(if you already got the vespiquen on lostlorn Forest this encounter is invalid due to dupes clause), leavanny (dupes clause eliminates from encounter), then 1% chance for either Pinsir or herracross with moxie(0.75 Pinsir chance 0.25 herracross chance on white2 but rates are reversed on black 2).

Pokemon obtained in hidden grottoes have their hidden abilities, example Pinsir and herracross gets moxie, there is a hidden grotto in the endgame area where you could get sheer force bagon that when it becomes a salamence it becomes moxie. There are a lot of guides just a Google away.

Always loved bug types like Heracross and stuff normally when he’s available in that game I pick him up. He was a main staple of my Soul Silver team and put out much work. I never really was drawn to Pinsir either but it’s shiny is pretty awesome. Pinsir gives off that vibe like Heracross does that it should’ve been a fighting type too

Yeah heracross is certainly one of my favorite bugs (I really like shuckle to for no real reason lol) and this run taught me that Pinsir is slightly worse bug than heracross. Unless you’re talking about a heracross with guts. That guy is a beast!

are you sure? with stab, venoshock is 97.5 base power vs strenghts 80. scoliopede is more a physical attacker sure, but the stat dif is enough compared to the moves power?

Off the top of my head, Skorupi has 45 attack, 90 defense, 65 speed, 35 special attack(?) And like what 50 spdef? Hp should be 65 or smth, not sure That's pretty bad but not actually unusable, if you need a bulky fighting resist. Also eviolite I get that the others are better but still, y'know I love my little bug Edit: alright hp is way worse it's 40, attack is better with 50, spdef is better 55, special is lower 30, speed and def were correct alright good enough

You really need to work on your pronunciation of Pokemon and character names, a couple slip ups here and there isn't a huge deal, but its genuinely painful to listen to when you mispronounce the vast majority of names and Pokemon
