For those who wondering why the train has to stop kupishana. It's a single line. We started the project with no money at all. Western countries had refused to support us and Chinesse loans would be a finger up where the sun don't shine. So the Late Magufuli literally buldozed the project and decided "Tutajenga hivyo hivyo kwa pesa zetu." Which we thought we did not have, but akabana mafisadi na wapika dili. So we started meagre but here we are 7 years later. Those that had refused to fund now want to, wameona yanawezekana. The line will run for 1,800km to Tabora, Mwanza, Kigoma and to Musongati in Burundi and Rusumo in Rwanda. The lesson here is clear. "Wewe anza, watakuja tu."

Sisi ni dugu moja hizi mambo za leading leading tuzichukulie ni za wote watu wa East Africa. Tukumbuke the Wazunguz ndo wali tu divide...so in this case we should say East Africa is now leading kwa infrastructure. These are my Thoughts!! You never know labda siku moja utaskia the fastest electric train from North Kenya o Southern parts of Tanzania...the western white people hawapendi kabisa tufanye hizi maendeleo. Wata bribe our leaders itakaa tena steam train the slowest ever.watasema tutaharibu natural resources.

Seems like a fool's comment. Development is not measured with train or stadium alone or roads alone. Development is first human development ( Human Development Index) and infrastructural development ( both horizontal and vertical ). When all these are put together, Kenya becomes the most developed nation in East Africa, followed by Ethiopia and Tanzania. Development cannot be determined by watching a single or many video clips. It is determined by research by economists. The research is then compiled into a published report.

Hi guys, i would like to appreciate all your credit to our infrastructure, however please stop comparing Tanzania and Kenya infrastructure hence these two sister countries trying their best to make sure their citizens live better especially Kenyan so please stop undermining your country efforts as to where it is right now.

@@peterm9404 Which highway? Only Thika road which is similar to 25km Ubungo Kibaha highway....and chinese expressway. (Which Tanzania cannot allow such projects that benefit the few but rather prefferred mass transit BRT system)..Nothing special in highways of kenya. Tanzania now is finishing connecting Katavi-kigoma road and the whole country will be connected with advanced highways...Remember Tanzania is twice kenya in size....Ask kenyan drivers who use Tanzanian roads will tell you which roads are better

I wonder who built this beautiful railway? Where tourists do their laundry? For how much? Thx

I took this train from Dodoma to Dar es salaam. It is impressive, but the only annoying thing is security checks, it is like at the airport before boarding an aeroplane. This process doesn't exist in Europe. In Europe you can show up at the train station even 5 minutes before departure which is impossible in Tanzania. In Brussels, they also have barriers and ticket scanning, but no x-ray machines.

Tanzania is not a copy cut country, Europe is not a standard for everything. Security check is important for safety purpose. Sema hii maswala ya ID na passport kwakwel huwa sielewi.

Europe is not missing out on security checks. Trains in Europe can be going every 3 minutes within the big cities. The overhead for security checking such amounts of people would be insane. Even without security checks, there is not a worth mentioning amount of terrorist attacks within trains (you could also place your bomb somewhere on the track if you really wanted to). I recall an incident where someone was stabbed inside a train or something but that could also happen on the street. Mind you, terrorism and crime exists in Europe as well. Besides all that, how many people die on the roads per day? Trains are the safest mode of transportation there is and the more people use it, the less people die in cars instead. So we should keep barriers to using trains as low as possible if we care about the life of people.
