after playing 6 hours I must say this game is fking awesome! its even better and more fun than I expected jesus I think this will click with many people eventhough I want the classic rts experience to prevail, I believe this simpler version of an rts will actually keep players engaged

@@chrisnance6872 I doubt that the people you are getting into battle aces will enjoy playing classic rts after that.. Its usually the other way around, because you can easily do less but its difficult to do more. Imagine you grinded battle aces and then you gotta start learning build orders, building placements and all that stuff. Its similar to brood war vs sc2. Those who started playing sc2 hardly get into brood war. Those who played brood war before can get into sc2 without feeling overwhelmed, because it is easier to play.

why is this labeled as RTS? Seems more like RTT (real time tactics). There's not much in the way of basebuilding or resource gathering, its all kind of automated

RTT games you start a level with a fixed army (ie 10 zerglings 20 hydras and a defiler with no ability to make units or research). In this game you build stuff/tech up so it is RTS

I have to say, I don't really understand the point of the negative comments people have saying this won't be a gateway game into more hardcore RTS for players. So what if it isn't? Players who don't use it as a gateway probably would not have played a hardcore RTS anyway... What is wrong with those players finding a place to belong? It isn't like the only reason for the game to exist is to convert all players to eventual SC2 pros. EDIT : For context I come from sportscar racing, and I see the same bias in that sport where people 'dont understand' why any of the lower level series exist if not to feed the pro series. As it turns out plenty of people who race have no aspiration or desire to commit to being a hardcore pro. There is nothing at all wrong with staying casual at something, even if other people make it into a hardcore sport.

What is Tasteless chat talking about? One guy says with how quick the games are wouldn't take the pros long to get 100,000 games, another replies it would take 300 hours to do that. I calculated this it would take 4 years... At 7 mins per game average it'd take 11,666 hours and at 8 hrs per day that'd be 1458 days which is about exactly 4 years. And thats if you average 8 hrs a day every single day for 4 years straight no break

question: are units unlocked in a fixed way or can you chose which units to unlock?

There are 8 units you get for free during "tutorial", a free unit rotation. All other units are purchased with in-game currency by playing matches.

You can choose what units to unlock, but it takes a while to unlock them. You gain ~4 "War Credits" per minute of match time and units can cost 300, 500, 700, or 1500 to unlock. So just over an hour of game time on the low end to over 6 hours of game time on the high end.

@@artifactdota6462 i imagine you'd play anywhere between 80 to 100 matches (if the average playtime would be around 5 min or so) to get your preferred deck or whatever pro's would say would be the optimal beginners deck or later optimized advanced deck ...

@@MrTBSC Depending on how many units in your ideal deck are from the starting units, you play around 30-60 games per unit, so more like 240-480 games depending on which units you need if none are starting, since some cost much more than others. If there is decent overlap with the starter units it could be waaay lower though.

this game is literally impossible to win after silver. idk if it's just really smart bots playing every game or what. I'm diamond in SC2 and i feel like my ranked sc2 games are easier than silver battle aces. absolutely absurd.

MMR hasn't settled yet, most likely will spread out as people play longer.

I think its the exact same thing with valorant they're like all hardcore fps players with lots of experience niche game its the only thing that makes any sense to me? And maybe since the playerbase tends to be too high level all the noobs get weeded out and leave the game cause they're frustrated and can't do anything...

BAR is awesome. BAR is also a game that has pretty much nothing in common with Battle Aces. Chances are that if Battle Aces tickles your fancy you will absolutely despise BAR, and vice versa. Completely different gameplay dynamic, maps and pacing.
