I’m happy for you that you’re in New York with friends from Russia and here. Anxiety is something I’ve had since I was a teenager and it can become debilitating panic attacks etc. I’m glad you’re out living your life. Dari, Your videos are so interesting, but mostly I'm pleased that you are being enriched by being a student and learning in the USA. Accounting courses can be very difficult. They always told me "not to drop your pencil", meaning you could miss something when stopping to pick up the pencil. Funny! Congratulations on your test score of 88%. That is a B, and OK. The small town you saw in NY with all the decorations is replicated many times in America. The homes you saw would be upper-middle class in the US, and not ultra-rich, but very nice. Many Americans have the pleasure of this lifestyle! Enjoy your stay and studies, as it may be hard to return to Russia (as I've viewed so many places outside of Moscow and St. Petersburg.) Cheers!

The snake wants to see her new shoes. If it's a copperhead snake, it's venomous. It likes to slither in fallen leaves and debris. If the snake bites me and I die because of that, it's a venomous snake. If I eat the snake and I die because of that, it's a poisonous snake. Snakes figured prominently in my family's lineage story and curses.

New York was one of the safest big cities in the US from about 2009-2020 and got a little more dangerous after that. Some credit Bloomberg for those years. Because it fluctuates different people have different stories / memories. The best thing to do is to be street smart. Don’t be a target. Being street smart doesn’t mean acting tough or being mean or pretending everyone is out to get you. Be yourself, and learn off the street, from the city itself. As you do. You’ll be ok. Be careful in the subway. And get that house Geko $14 from pet smart. It will be a good friend.

By the way, I don’t worry about shootings because the odds are so low, compared to, say, being diagnosed with cancer or getting killed in a car accident. When the movie Jaws came out, I had an irrational fear of being attacked by a shark, even though the odds were so small. (Of course, if we had reasonable gun laws, the odds of being shot would be even smaller).

I think someone is home-sick, missing Moscow deep down. I had similar feelings in my first few weeks living away from home, and that was all in the UK. Sleepy Hollow is the site of the legend of Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman. Route 17 is one of the most picturesque drives. The mountains are very beautiful and it was a popular resort area many decades ago. Further north between Albany and the Canadian border are the Adirondack mountains, also a vacation area. The entire region was once populated by the Dutch and many of the names of places are Dutch. New York City was originally called New Amsterdam. There are many legends about the Catskills such as Rip Van Winkle.

Both Highline Park in New York and Zaryadye Park in Moscow were designed by the same American Architectual firm,believe or not!They were built a few years apart.I believe both parks were built on abandoned property.I recently saw that on a CBS News KZbin Video about Zaryadye Park that was done a few years back,both parks are modern and very innovative in their own way with a focus on nature.

Thanks for the new video, Dari. I should comment on your fears regarding shootings. For some perspective, according to the CDC, here are some statistics (looks like mostly for 2021). Deaths by firearms: 48,830 Motor vehicle traffic deaths: 45,404 However, many of the firearm deaths were suicides. Deaths by suicide: 48,183 (26,328 by firearms) So many more people die from auto accidents than from random shootings.

Even within my lifetime, Halloween has become much bigger and more adult. I think you'd really like Salem, Massachusetts, too, which is the self-billed capital of Halloween. It's about 32 km north of Boston on the coast. It gets pretty crowded, though. September is probably better than October crowd-wise and there's almost as much going on. The coastline around there is a nice old New England kind of drive, too. I always think about shootings, but in that I pay attention to my surroundings and people more than in a fearful way. Of course, I had PTSD from when I was a kid and have thought about that stuff well before that kind of thing was happening, so I've been wired this way almost from the beginning.

I’m so happy you had a Fantastic Halloween, next year I hope you get to explore some more locations for The Halloween Season, the channel Carpetbagger has a great selection of locations he went to this year, some great suggestions to check out especially for The Christmas Season. For Thanksgiving that is a great time to be with friends, all of you could prepare and share a meal together. As for New Year’s Eve, New York is absolute pandemonium, I would suggest starting out small like a private get together, as it is terribly cold that night and there are lots of crowds, it gets pretty rowdy. If you like to Ski, I would suggest the Western States, like Idaho, Utah or Colorado. Not as expensive as the East Coast, and it rains a lot less. The Airports are packed during this time of year, so be ready for delays in travel. Thank You for the videos 👍

I loved that cute little town of Sleepy Hollow but I went there in summer and my focus was on getting photos of the lighthouse. Such a beautiful lighthouse there. Were you hiking in a park? I asked because you had your drone? Was there anything special you had to do to fly the drone like ask permission or get a permit? I want one but I keep reading about all the rules and laws and they scare me.

I love your videos, and was wondering when you were going to post again. Your fears are your own and they are valid. Just so you know, I live in a state where you don't need a permit to conceal carry a weapon. I find people are polite and mind their own business.

Feeling Blue is to be expected - BUT it does not mean isolate yourself. People can be cruel on social media as they don’t have to face you and they hide behind a computer - how sad is that. Seek the help of others around you, you trust. There are so many things around you - you have wanted to do and see - you have done and seen a lot more that others in this world and have come a LOOOONG way to get to this university - be PROUD of yourself because YOU did it (with some help from others at times). You will do well, as you have good study habits and seem to have a happy go lucky attitude. You need to get away from school studies to recharge or you will become a bitter person. When you do videos of your experiences you seem happy and full of joy. You have many friends here on u-tube who are wishing all the best for you, as we come along on those experiences through the videos. As they say YOU GO GIRL!!!
