You say that the Dominican Republic is not a welcoming country, it is because you have not visited the neighborhoods where the people are very warm and would give you a lot of affection. DR is in the top 10 of all Hispanic American countries with high GDP blah blah. I think it's 7th place above Argentina. Which is understandable, Argentina is always going thru some economic crisis and scandals. Lots of Argentinians want to leave their country, their currency is always deflating. If you save up 500 pesos by the end of the month is basically worthless. Like, you can't save up money there. I remember back in around 06 bunch of Argentinians immigrating over here. DR and Panama are the highest or faster rising economies and would have been more if not for the Asian related "cough" scare. There are hardly ever any catastrophic weather events like earthquakes or hurricanes. Puerto Rico usually is our shield and eats most of them. The most recent worst earthquake on the island was back in 2010 and that was on Haiti's side so we dodge that bullet also. But a big strain in our economy is the illegal Haitian immigration/invasion and the corrupt politicians, entrepreneurs/business owners that allow it to happen for cheap labor. No different than the US with "mexicans" or latinos and then media and usual suspects try to use the oldie but a goodie narrative of "Americans/Dominicans don't want to do those jobs that Mexicans/Haitians will do". I'm all for Hispanic immigration between each other but Haiti is a different culture, it's not Hispanic. But global entities, NGO's etc want to push all their progressive all inclusivity agendas on us, and we're fighting back against traitors in our lands and media.

African American or Foundational Black American?, it's a difference, anyone can be an African American..that term is dangerous because all black Americans are not African, some are Black Aboriginals and have been here! Only 3 percent of slaves came into America, an all the rest went to the Caribbean, Carribeans are more African than us because North African Arabs that were Moors colonized the DR. from Spain and brought slaves here to the DR! My people are Foundational Black Americans my people built America and are not immigrants!#FBA

a lot of those families are not Dominican they are Arabs Lebanese you will see no indigoubes black dominican over there
@raquelrichardson6362
@raquelrichardson6362 Жыл бұрын
those family are for the most Arabs north African immigrant families not real indigoubes Dominican. Many Arabs also Latinized their names and the majority completely dropped Arabic due to prejudices. Despite being seen as non-Europeans, they were seen as higher up in the Spanish-Portuguese caste or colorist system than other communities. For example, Debbie Mucarsel-Powell-the spelling of “Mucarsel” in Lebanon is “Moukarzel”-a former congresswoman (D-FL) was an immigrant from Ecuador and of Lebanese heritage. Migration in large numbers to Latin America started in the twentieth century with significant amounts of Arab Christians, but also Jews and Muslims fleeing the Ottoman Empire-what is now Syria, Lebanon, and Israel/Palestine. While many left after World War I and due to food shortages, some also departed due to population growth and the decline of the Silk industry .

@@LORDWILLIAMSON_ And again most ppl over her are not real dominican. that's why nothing gets done over her and colorism it's remain over her because those Arabs from the middle East brong there Arab slave mentality over her. Dr. Waïl Hassan, director of the Center for South Asian and Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Illinois, places Latin America as the host of the largest number of Arabs and their descendants outside of the Middle East, with estimates ranging from seventeen to thirty million descendants. Is it because of America’s obsession with race and group classifications that many cannot comprehend that Latinos can also be Arabs, and that these two do not cancel each other out? Or is it because Americans have mostly been told only one history of immigration since primary school? It is a good reminder that this Arab community in Latin America is the closest counterpart to Arab Americans in the US-who are often becoming US citizens and already referring to themselves as Americans. Among the most significant differences between the two communities is perhaps the tendency for those in Latin America to refer to themselves as Brazilian or Argentinian rather than “Arab-Brazilian” or “Syrian-Argentinian.” This may be because the US is by far the largest melting pot of immigrants. And, although there are many parallels, the Arab community in Latin America has had the chance to take on leadership positions such as president and vice president, thereby impacting the national discourse on Arab heritage and what is possible for the Arab community. This achievement can be seen as an example of immigration and integration to many. This is partly due to the multireligious and multiethnic “Centros/Club Arabes” that has allowed many to remain tied to their history and culture while also taking part in a completely new national identity.

his right there is no real middle class . most ppl tethering from the US, most ppl get money from dominican who living in the US and Europe. if you would take away western union you would see how fast the middle class will trop down.

Gained a fan! I’m Dominican and yes you look like us, so that’s why you don’t get the recognition. If you go back to DR go to SAMANA. They have beautiful waterfalls, beaches are amazing and the people are nicer. The country is better than the city, and I’m from San to domingo.
