As a person who grew up in South Korea and moved to the US at the age of 20, now living in LA pursuing filmmaking, everyday is international and every project is international to me. Definitely an insightful video to remind all of us that we may be living the dream already - it’s just about the mindset to recognize that and be grateful each day

Honestly I needed to hear the little puzzle piece analogy. Its hard to see sometimes that even in those small projects there are vital things we are learning that will help in the future. Thanks for being a breath of fresh air Gian and i'm super happy for you that you got to work on this incredible project - well deserved!!

Just like the story Gian Carlo Stigliano shared. I have been a regular service videographer for 12 years. At that time I dreamed of owning a mini Ursa. During those years, I did all the simple jobs like weddings, events, corporate filming, commercials... and by Christmas 2023, I owned an Ursamini pro 4k6 G2 thanks to encouragement from Gian Carlo Stigliano's video. Really grateful. And my future plans are to make short films for young directors and continue my other dreams. Thank you Gian Carlo Stigliano for the inspiring stories. Wishing you all the best and keep moving forward with your own dreams

Bro this is such great advice to 2 reasons: 1. As you described, understanding that you’re already beginning to live your dream can alleviate so much anxiety. 2. When you “get there”, when you achieve whatever criteria amounted to living the dream for you, you won’t struggle with imposter syndrome because you were conscious of the entire journey and all the chapters that led to your success and were part of your success. Thanks Carlo for taking the time to be uniquely valuable on this noisy platform

Hey Carlo, good message! It also helps to keep in mind that we're always striving for what we don't have. For somebody living in Europe that might be working in the US while at the same time the folks from the US are drawn to Europe. I guess the moral here is that you have what you're looking for at the palm of your hand no matter where you're. You also have to be able to detach yourself from the notion that you have to achieve XYZ to "make it". Looking at it that way is a guarantee for disappointment. Only when you're able to fully appreciate what you've accomplished, for yourself, will you have made it. This has nothing to do with an arbitrary set of standards set by some other person. Thanks for sharing!

Aw man, I am starting to grasp what does it mean to be a DOP, for the last 2 years i have dedicated myself completely to that. The very thing that brought me to it was, as you said, growing as a person. That's what puts me apart from many other young dp's who know the camera tech a lot better than me but aren't so... open/supportive/human? What you said in the video rly resonates with me and keeps me on growing/connecting with people with similar approach to life through filmmaking. Great stuff, very important message that goes way further that just "filmmaking". Love your content, sending much love from Poland

I totally love your focus on the creation process, not the gear. So cool that you got to shoot abroad, and especially in such a cool country. I'd love to make a film in Europe. Now a question: Did you fly and import your camera, or did you just rent the same package from a rental house inside of Europe? But also, I would love a dedicated Venice rig video from you at some point! (because you can't really find that on KZbin), and a video about your vistaprimes. I recently picked up the F55 because it provided an excellent roadmap to grow into the Venice.

I've just been given the opportunity to film a music video for a rock band. I've done many music videos in the past, however this one feels like the one that will really accelerate my career. I'm only 18 but this warm glowing feeling that I'm getting mixed with excitement and nervousness is something I haven't felt before. I feel like it's finally validating my choice in venturing down the path of becoming a DP. I'm finding myself thinking if I'm ready for this job and if I'm good enough for it but I think as long as I keep my head in the game then all will be good. Thanks for being a huge inspiration and I look forward to seeing what more you come out with:)

Hey man, love the content you produce. I have a question, I'm a small filmmaker and I've been editing my documentary of Ukraine and have about a month or two before I finalise the project. The issue is, I've been thinking about several ways I could promote my film yet it's been a struggle. I understand film festivals exist, but majority of them in my area (South England) are either costly, require you to be a student or have other restrictions. I'm really passionate about my work and hope to bring more light to the Ukrainian struggle, but from how it's looking the only real way I could get a large reach is by paying money for ads and hope my KZbin/Instagram gets some traction. (Which is what I'll be doing) Would you happen to have any tips for situations like these? I'd love to hear them :)
