This is it! The MK85 is COMPLETE! The series is OVER! But folks, the journey to get here was INSANE! I can't even begin to explain how much has changed in the past 4 years, what went RIGHT, What went wrong! And so much in between!
This tutorial series is what started it all for me and bringing it to a close was very difficult. What do I say? What do I leave out? Hopefully you all enjoy this conclusion and learn something along the way!
Thank you everyone for tuning in and supporting me! Here's to the future!

I remember starting 3D printing back in 2015 in high school. I made little keychains and that was about it. Who would have thought that 8 years later, I'd be finishing 3 full scale star wars droids. You're amazing, Frank and thank you for all your help with my projects.

Frank, thank you so much for sharing your story! All I learnt about slicing, smoothing, priming and painting, I learnt from you. You mentioned the same situation that I have: shoot every week live upgrades about project or make tutorials about certain subject. Live updates are easier for shooting and regular posting, but for KZbin algorithms and viewers search, short 5-10 minutes tutorials with definite subject work better. Anyway, we all wait for all your videos) Thank you for sharing your experience 🙏

I haven't been here for your whole journey, I've only discovered your channel this year, but I absolutely love all the videos I've seen. Seeing your passion for the hobby, for each build has gotten me back into 3D printing, and watching your video reviewing your favorite printer models led me to choose one of those. I hadn't purchased a printer in over 5 years and boy have they made some nice advancements. Thank you for your knowledge, your passion, and willingness to share it all with us.

Back in 2020, I saw a video of Emily with her helmet reposted somewhere so I went and found her page and very quickly yours. I then got my first printer and started in my own journey of 3D printing and cosplay. I still don’t have a full suit yet but I will someday bc of your. I just want you to know how much you’ve impacted the community and how much you’ve helped me not only learn about 3D printing, but in a lot of other ways

Frank, you taught me perseverance. Seeing you dedicate so much time to your builds, and especially this Mark 85 just made me want to go the extra mile just like you do. Seeing you go back and perfect the suit even further than most of us would’ve known, with the paint, or the electronics, or even the V2 chest, it inspires me to always push for my builds to be the best they can possibly be. Not to mention you also taught me most of what I know about 3D printing haha. Thank you Frank, for continuing to do what you do.

Like the old man said, part of the journey is the end. You got me into this hobby, and it's been an honor to learn and grow alongside you. These past two years since I started all this has been some of the best time of my life. It's definitely had its bad moments, sure, layer shifts, cracked paints, and maybe we dropped a freshly painted Blue Beetle eye on the ground along the way, but there's been so much that makes up for it, like the fact that not only you, but hundreds of other amazing builders and even Ross Marquand have thought "her stuff is good enough to follow her", and all the incredible people I've met along the way, from celebrities to other cosplayers to even getting recognized at a con. This is all thanks to you, and I have no idea where I'd be without it. So thank you Frank, here's to another four years.

The best part of the video was the Easter egg at the end(at least for me it was) I lost my dad too over a year ago and he was my biggest fan when it came to 3D printing. Didnt matter how big or small the project, it simply amazed him that someone could imagine an object or design and create it out of a spaghetti noodle of plastic or a vat of liquid resin. Miss him everyday but know hes right there with me everytime Im out in the shop working on my latest project.

This video actually reminded me that it is ok to have to reprint parts. I stopped the video at around the half way to look at my old 3d files rescale a helmet and start a print before coming back to continue the video. I stopped because I was about 70% through a build only to have scaled some parts wrong. I stopped the build for about a year and worked on other stuff. Thanks for getting me back on track.

You were the guy who was able to show me all the awesome things that can be done with a 3D printer a year or two ago. From all the videos I've watched of yours, I've learned tons about the power of sandpaper, patience, and spray paint (even though I may not be good at those yet or have access to a good environment to spray paint. I think the most important thing that you've taught me though is the power to look at things and see different uses like car window tint for eye lens tint or a soldering iron for welding. That skill has saved me more times than I can count. Thank you so much.

Your channel (as well as kiaras workshop and many others) are helping my 7 years of ironman mk3 prototyping getting to the end and start the design of the final MK3 from walsh 3D fully motorized, with sounds, smoke, lights... As a software engineer my only problem was how to built it, and this videos shows me how to work with 3D models, sizing, painting it... (I am thinking about electroplate the armor instead of paint it). Also, i want to document everything via twitter, youtube (not this channel, other channel created for cosplay)... Thank you for this videos.

I was cruising youtube one and came across how to motorize and ironman helmet tutorial pt1. From the end of the little intro of you jn your suit doing the snap i was hooked. I spent the next few months watching every video and researching printers. Fast forward almost a year im doing my first event in a couple weeks and have learned an incredible amount from your videos. Anybody that has some issue i direct them to your channel cuz you have a video covering basically everything. So thank you from all of your subscribers for helping us with this awesome frustrating hobby.

Frank, Thank you for making this video and sharing the journey that you've been on with this suit. While it may not be documented (or shared) like your project, I underwent a very similar build story to make my dream come true of the master chief suit from Halo 3. Your videos and progress were one of the things that inspired me to keep going even when I hit the wall with that project. I also really resonate with your sentiment of making friends through these crazy projects. Without the other Halo cosplayers I met along the way I would have never finished. I've only been 3d printing for a couple of years, bit of a new hobby after moving away from landscape photography. (getting to old to climb mountains in the dark) I came across your channel when I was looking at painting a Mando helmet & discovered your graphite powder video. I hope you'll forgive me when I say I don't watch all your videos but I do watch the ones when you are building helmets or show painting techniques. You have a great big back catalogue of helmet builds which I will watch as I continue my 3d printing journey. I'm not quite confident enough to make a full cosplay suit yet but I am leaning towards making various helmets first. Frank you have a natural ability to teach, I really do learn something new in every video of yours I watch. Sometimes its a massive eureka moment others its a little snippet that can make a big difference. Im looking forward to your new iron man build who knows it might give me the confidence to give it a go myself.

It's hard to choose one video when all videos were just as helpful and inspiring. Even if I wasn't there from the very beginning, it feels like I've been watching you for my whole journey of 3d printing. I was so confused and lost on where to start with 3d printing, but I knew there was something I could enjoy doing out of it. You helped me find that enjoyment that I was looking for. I had no other friends then because Covid was such a big hitter, but I'll never forget finding your channel and the video titled "I Made a Battle Damaged Iron Man Helmet! | 3D Printed MK85 Guide". That was the first video I ever watched from your channel at the time and from that moment, I was so excited about my new hobby. Just recently, as you know, I debuted my finished MK85 Iron Man Suit at C2E2 of 2023. I know I keep bringing it up to you whether it be on Instagram or even now, but you don't know how much that has changed my perspective of just committing to something I love, and I'm so grateful that I was able to meet you and get to talk with you, even for a split moment. Just grabbing a photo with you, and having people take photos of us together, was a dream of mine, and definitely, something crossed off the bucket list. You have a kind heart, an open mind, and a bigger soul than anyone could have. Keep pushing on with your goals, and you're going to do wonders for the community you have made. Hopefully, you bring yourself to come back next year for C2E2, I need to get the helmet signed by you and to just talk with you about nerdy stuff. I can't wait to watch and see your upcoming projects. Much love

Frank, I've gleamed a few things from you. Some of your print settings, even though speed is not an issue for me, but quality is... no matter how long it takes. And the electronics. I've had far to many head injuries through the years. And even though I know circuits and wiring, I get confused, lost, and flat out frustrated not remembering or being able to comprehend. You talking about the electronics reminds me of things I know, but also new things. Like reed switches, the controller boards, you get where I'm going. Let's not forget getting painting. I have that one in my knowledge bank, but the colors and brands that work best for you. Or a way of applying/masking I haven't tried or forgotten. I am far older than you, like enlisted USMC 1984 older lol. But this old dog does learn new tricks, and you help that process. Love ya Frank (Lee) lol.

I've honestly learned so much from your videos that I have started translating into my own projects. I had no idea how to size things before coming to your videos and that alone was one of the biggest steps I needed to learn as I am a large individual, and most files that are put out there are not made with me in mind. Sanding and painting techniques that I had never tried was another, and while I have not yet entered the realm of electronics, the info is there if I decide I do want to with the next two projects I have planned. I can't thank you enough for the channel Frank, and I'm just glad that a great personality like yours decided to take this journey and provide the information to those of us who dream to make things.

I’ve learned so much from watching your videos Frank. I got an Ender 3 for Christmas, and have been playing with it ever since. You showed me all the good upgrades, how to tune things to work properly, and have given me countless ideas on cool things to make. I haven’t gone the route of making anything for cosplay - but have been greatly enjoying the hobby. Making practical prints that work into everyday life, along with just cool things I can set on shelves, my desk, etc. Once I buy my own house (within the next year) I am hoping to get more into painting and such since I will have the room to do so. Thanks for all you do, thanks for sharing it all with us, and keep doing what you’re doing!

You’ve helped me without even knowing. I have studied your page and found the relative information I need first of all to get me started only 2 months ago and to help me proceed, whether that’s issues with printing or settings etc. your page is like the unofficial guide to printing and honestly dude thank you so much for doing what you do and helping everyone get up and running. Hopefully catch you in London next year.

Dude!!!! Your videos documenting these builds haven't just inspired me, I'm more excited about my newest projects than I have been in years!! I've been printing & building electronics for several years. I love taking an idea or an image in my head and turning it into something I can hold and use and be proud of. I've never done cosplay, mainly just things like weather stations, clocks, & RC tanks. But since I saw one of your motorized Iron Man helmet videos, I was hooked!!! It's on like Donkey Kong!!! Your channel is now on my daily watchlist, lol. Thanks, bro. Keep these awesome videos comin!!!

I have been into 3d printing for almost 15 years. I fell into it because I'm a tinkerer. I'm an engineer (NCSU). When I found your channel 3 years ago, I loved your enthusiasm for the hobby and for wanting to learn the hobby. It just drew me in. Love all your content. Shout-out from Wake Forest!!!!

Truly a great story and just an incredible person. I wish I had discovered this channel sooner. You make high quality content without all the fluff and clickbait nonsense. Hands down the best tutorial channel I have ever come across and help make 3D printing more accessible for everyone. Because of your videos I have found the confidence to actually want to take up the craft. Once I can get the finances going, I will be joining the 3D print community. Thank you for all you do, and I am excited to see what comes out next

Hey Frank I normally don't comment on KZbin videos but wanted to thank you for getting me back into the hobby after a near death experience from a heart attack / cardiac arrest at the beginning of this year. Mentally I couldn't face and didn't have the energy to do anything when I came out the hospital but I could watch your videos as I did in the past before the attack. Little by little you helped relight the fire of creating helmets so thank you and I hope we meet at next year's MCM

Great video. I'm just in awe at the suits/helmets you have worked on. The one thing that hit close to home in your video is "Take your time". I'm just starting out in 3D printing and I want to go fast so I can go onto the next project. I will take this advice and slow it down. Thanks for all your hard work and tutorials you have provided. I reference them every time I go to the next step in post print. See you at GalaxyCon Raleigh (I hope).

While I’m not into building an iron man suit I completed a full mandalorian beskar outfit (with a Amban pulse rifle) for Orlando MegaCon this past April and a BoKatan outfit for my wife. We ended up getting’trapped’ in the 501st Legion area one day and almost missed our photo op with Katy Sakoif so many people wanted photos … lol. I’m currently designing an original cosplay character I call ‘future man’ which has some elements of the character from the Dead Pool character who came back from the future. This build has me creating an original weapon from scratch called the ‘x-40 cobalt ion pulse rifle’ as well as his weapon of last resort which is a modified mandalorian heavy weapons tri barrel that can I call an SMV tri-barrel gamma wave disrupter cannon’. He moves through time with his wrist mounted Astral Projection Oscillation Over thruster ( a modified PIP 2000). While all this is happening I’ve been building a full size, operator-on-inside, drivable, fully electro mechanical Dalek. My Dalek is 95% complete but now I need to do all the electromechanical work which is where your channel has been such a big help since I’m basically clueless about electronics! Keep up the amazing work and maybe Iron Man and Dalek Nim or Future Man will run into each other one day!👽🚀

I found your channel early on in my 3D printing, and your Cura settings and orientation for helmets was so incredibly helpful. Then I saw your sanding and finishing, then your painting vids, all so helpful. But I have to say, the greatest lessons I learned from you were that all the settings in the slicer can't overcome mechanical issues and the best advice yet: it's cosplay, it's supposed to be fun, not perfect and that includes 3D prints. Thank you so much for sharing your time and talents, I know making the videos is just as much work as making the props and suits.

4:46 BOY! Who you tellin? I once tried to make a Pepakura helmet in 2018 and the got damn rain ruined it! I've been in the Power Rangers cosplay scene for 4 years as the Red Lighting Turbo Ranger and I always received the amazed look on their faces when I tell them I made the suit myself. However, the 3d printed helmet was "the crown jewel" of the suit with the lights and I have also tried to add a helmet fan to the design as well on my own. Then I came across this channel and it gave me the idea where cosmetically I can do better than what I have so far. I kept watching the channel to get more information on the progress of your suit and it has been very informal and humorous too. Now, after gathering as much information as I could, I'm almost tempted to go to the next level of costumes; making a Megazord! That will be the biggest challenge of them all! That for a future project. Anyway, thanks for the videos.

Frank, you have taught me so much! My printer has not stopped for the past 4 days XD My prints used to fail, I watched some of your videos and they stopped, I used creality slicer and then I learned from your cura settings an im so happy I switched! I only started 2-3 months ago and your the reason I bought a printer and started! I dont have much money to make a full suit(or space) (yes my parents said the corner in our garage is my printing area) Your scaling tutorials didnt help much though, but I learned alot from them anyways(this is in a constructive way not trying to be mean, but I think you could have gone more in depth about the three types of scaling) I have made many mistakes and I still am, I just scaled my helmet to 128% thinking it was correct except, my eyes were in the middle and I couldnt see anything. Again, you have been such a big influence to me and I wish you the best of luck with your new project! Im so excited! P.S can you make a more in depth video about scaling? Im having some troubles. Once again, thank you for all you have done for me and the community!

Hey Frank! For me, your channel has become, first of all, an inspiration for creating something other than applied things. Watching your videos on Mark 85 I just realized - Hey, I have a 3D printer and I love the MCU, in particular I love Iron Man, so why not print something! So I made the first Iron Man helmet, and then another. After that, I began to study the issue of electronics and servos. Now, according to your post-processing and painting guides, I plan to paint one of the helmets and am doing my own modeling of the Mark 3 suit! Thank you very much for your videos and your energy, which is capable of inspiring people across half the globe!
