Base training is always exciting, as I heard :) It's the first real aircraft after the sim, it is somewhat (or a lot) different than the sim, and there is always a chance for something not going as planned, such as rough landings. I heard it from a pilot who was participating in these on the jumpseat for safety reasons (just in case the captain becomes incapacitated).
@Doggepe2 жыл бұрын
I thought the 737 was very close to the sim, rough landings are felt for sure in the sim as well, but of course a difference when it's actually real life haha

@@Doggepe I think the psychological factor of "oh wow, I'm in control of the real thing now" comes into play too! Such a cool video! I have no intent to become a professional pilot but I did try out an A320 full motion sim and can recommend that to everyone who enjoys this stuff! And, funnily enough, compared to my landings on the PC, it was rather easy to control and land. The connection to the aircraft is much better. I can only imagine how much better the actual plane must feel, real dream come true for you!

The benefit on the real aircraft (or also in a full-motion sim) is, that you can feel the aircraft. When preparing for takeoff or landing, I always tighten the fasten seatbelts to get a good connection to aircraft’s motion. Feeling the aircraft is very important!

@@rougedog8111 I dont know to which pilot you were talking but thats just not true. Of course TO and Landing are dynamic situations but its not like driving a bus! You are always focused which is even more difficult when the AP does the job. You are always aware of your position and where to land in case of emergency or major system failures. This is the hard part. The fun begins with troubleshooting midair or in dynamic situations like TO and landing...In fact you cant just pull to the right and stop the bus to look whats the problem and every PAX is safe. You have to solve problems with your FO or FC while the plane shoots through the air with 800kph+.

Love this video. Been trying to learn and perfect Landings on the Airbus on FSX, so watching you do Touch & Go's was really helpful. Was the Autothrust used after initial take-off or was it all 'manually' controlled? And was the Autopilot used at any stage or was it purely 'hand-flown'?
@TobiasLauner4 жыл бұрын
Hi Simon, the autothrust kicks in when setting TOGA at takeoff and was used until touchdown. The autopilot was not engaged the whole time. Manual thrust flying is a procedure I learned later on the line. Manual flying only was the goal of that training. Nowadays I fly Autopilot/Autothrust OFF on most landings.

Great video....why was there a Dual input warning at 18:16? .......Did the instructor accidentally apply some force on his side stick due to their sensitivity, or did he do it deliberately? I know he is supposed to give a verbal 'I have control' request which i never heard, so am assuming he subconsciously did something as you touched down. Out of interest, in the event of a crazy suicidal pilot (thankfully almost non existent!) trying to deliberately crash the aircraft, who has the ultimate control in a A320? Does the aircraft computer give it to the captain. Anyway subscribed, these first landings were just 10 out of 10.
