I am almost 50 years old. I kept seeing Vessel on my feed so decided to check Sleep Token out. OMG, I haven’t stopped listening to all their stuff on Amazon Music for the last 3 days. They will be here in the Dallas area May 4, and I would LOVE to go see them. I’m probably old enough to be their Mom, but I am very much down with Sleep Token! My only wish is that the drum solo on The Summoning was longer. Sh!t is like a machine gun tearing through flesh. ❤❤❤

Unfortunately sleep tokens north American tour is completely sold out so you (as well as i) will have to wait until 2025 to see them. Sleep token is absolutely phenomenal and is a band on my must see list. I'm so glad you like them and I hope you are eventually able to see them!

Sleep Token is a self-proclaimed genre-less band. There is a quote of Vessel essentially saying that giving a genre to a song or band will leave you blind to what the artist or song is trying to portray. That's my take, at least. Vessel does all the instruments and lyrics for the albums besides the drums, which is written and performed by the aforementioned II. They do have a touring bassist (III) and guitar (IV) player that have been with them for years. Sleep Token is a great rabbit hole to down and especially if you're a fan of music and lyrical content.

If your background is more blue/rock and roll, check out Aqua Regia, The Love You Want, Euclid. They're predominantly known as a metal band, though I'd estimate only 25-40% of their music is actually metal. Its mosty melodic, atmospheric, r&b, and alternate pop sounding. They do everything, and they do it well

I saw them live in LA. He had 3 backup singer which made the vocals sound full. Vessel plays the piano, guitar and sings. There is a bass player and guitarist too. They sound amazing live. I've been a fan for years. Worship!

Honestly you’re not wrong in calling it pop. I think a lot of Sleep Token fans would agree. Also, I’d definitely recommend checking out their other songs. There’s plenty of great ones on Take Me Back To Eden that are big easier to digest for someone just getting into them. I feel like the title track can be a bit difficult to understand without knowing their vision

I love this band. Vessel is lead, ii is the drummer. Studio albums are those two with Vessel also doing piano, synth, guitars. For concerts they have lead and bass guitarists, iv and iii respectively. Some songs you may like: The Summoning The Offering Hypnosis Like That Vore Ascensionism Euclid Though imo all their songs are great!

You have to do The Offering! It’s an older one, and one of my personal favorites, but the drumming is so good. It has my favorite fill out of all their discography, although II’s drumming is impeccable in all their songs. One thing that I really appreciated after watching II’s drumeo interview is that he also plays all the electronic drums live on a pad. A lot of bands would take the short cut and track it for live performances, but not II. You’ve got to watch that interview. Thanks for the reaction and I’m excited to see what you do next!

I am currently obsessed with Sleep Token, but also a huge Ghost fan. If and when you dive into Ghost, start with the early albums before you move on to their more recent stuff. “Ritual” or “Elizabeth” would be my recommendations from their first album. 🤘🏻🤘🏻

You should check out the rest of this album if you liked this song. 'Take Me Back To Eden' is an incredible album, and it's so different to everything else I've ever heard. The way they mix so many genres on one album is impressive. I would recommend 'The Summoning' as it is their most popular song, and 'Vore' as it's probably their heaviest song to date.

Suprised you havnt heard Ghost yet. Definately check them out. I reccomend Cerise, Square Hammer, Mary on a Cross, Spillways, Dance Macabre. They have a lot of great hits. They are definately like a 70s band brought into the future. A lot of influences.

Oh man! Vessel writes all the music except the drums. TMBTE is the end of the trilogy, and the song after this one is Euclid which honors and pays tribute to the first song on Sundowning. Essentially each song is Vessel talking to Sleep, himself or Eden and the albums are dialogues centric to certain moments of this venture into Sleeps grasp. First album (Sundowning) is the lure Sleep gets onto Vessel despite red flags he follows, Second album (This Place Wil Becom Your Tomb)is Vessel drowning in the toxic relationship with Sleep and how damaging it is to his sanity but he can’t get away, the third album (Take Me Back To Eden) is about coming to peace with himself and breaking the chains/grip of Sleep despite the adoration he’s developed. Honestly, it’s probably a giant allegory for a woman who broke the shit out of the man’s heart haha. There’s rumors of artists names but please don’t share them if you discover, their previous portfolios are good though. Best to keep their wishes to remain anonymous! You should check out Sleep Tokens EPs One and Two which also have different sounds, they have some singles out that are also covers as well that fit the conversations between vessel and sleep that work so beautifully where you wouldn’t expect it. I got introduced through the song Jaws which is still one of my favorites. This band doesn’t have a specific genre and the genre blending they do is phenomenal, welcome to the band mate! Worship

Good reaction and your reaction style being an old git myself. Take me back to Eden is the title and penultimate track on the album. This the final part of a trilogy. You may wish to try the 3 albums in order to get the full story. Start with the Sundowning album and progress to This place will become your tomb, then finish with Take me back to Eden. You would be doing yourself a disservice for all the call backs and lore for the band. STs marketing has been spot on from the surprising way they release music to intimate gigs for the fan base at very short notice. There are a load of eps and acoustic tracks to hear as well as the instrumental versions of the albums. Finally I would like to say that most of us fans know who they are and previous bands they've played in, but you'll not hear it from me, as I charge😂😂😂 Worship and enjoy the journey.

Sleep Token dont fit into a genre. Vessel is a master ofvmising genres. Many of us first found them thru a song called The Summoning. It blew up on tiktok, you'll get it when you hear it. I found them when Will Ramos introduced Elizabeth, the Charismatic Voice, to them. I've seen a lot of good song recommended, they're all good. I would recommend if you start with an album listen from the first track to the last. Even song placement on the albums is perfect. Mostly enjoy and worship 🖤
