We used to call them Yard Goats. It would be a good idea for a new driver to take a job moving trailers in the yard. After a couple months they would be an expert backer-upper just like Chuck.

I always use google street view and also satellite view if im going somewhere new and ive been driving for two years. Ive been surprised a few times. Sometimes the address im given will be for the store itself but the recieving area will be on a side road. 95% of the places i go now ive been before which is a huge help but i still get a bit nervous if im going somewhere new. if i have oto back in id like to be coming in the correct direction to back on my good side and not blind side etc...I do flatbed there are alot of small yards we have to back into off the street which can be a little nerve racking. my very first load on my own after being with my trainer was a 90 back in a very narrow 2 lane road. I was nervous as hell lol
@TheTulsaTrucker
@TheTulsaTrucker 5 жыл бұрын
I have found it to be very helpful in finding the guard shacks and seeing where I need to enter the yard. I know flatbread can be a different animal for sure.

When attaching and removing your gland hands from every trailer work from the inside to outside by attaching the emergency hand first. Electric second,air third so your not working around the hands you'll have a clear work space. Then when removing them start from air line first. Electric second. Emergency third. So your not obstructed either. Its tricky are first but the process is much easier

When you get a trainer for tnt make sure he’s not a lease operator, most of them are all about how much money they can make and won’t train you and will run you into the ground.
