The baler came with enough net for 17 bales, then, I only had a couple more bales to make in this field.

We have a krone chain baler and we baby powder the roles before each use and it doesn't wrap on the rollers like it always did before.

I run a BR 7060. NH says put 9000’ rolls in it. I run the 12000’ because it fits. Cost for it is $265 (Tytan brand) a roll and will last around 300 rolls. Those straps are handy, dont throw them away. I use them for tying up everything including hydrolic lines.

I think it's safe to say there isn't a man alive who wouldn't use an empty tube as a trumpet, and when you get two you've got a sword fight. 😁 I came over on the recommendation of onelonelyfarmer and I'm really enjoying your content.

It’s amazing how much time you save with a net baler. Especially when you do around 2000-3000 bales a year. Worked it out once and it worked out to saving about 2 days worth of wasted time with the string baler in a 60 acre field. Also nice that it protects the hay better and is better for silage👍
@boehmfarm42764 жыл бұрын
I believe the time saved. I just timed myself rolling a field and averaged 2 minutes per bale start to drop.
@claringbouldfarms15284 жыл бұрын
Boehm Farm That is pretty good timing, looks like some good bales that your making aswell👍

NEVER use a razor blade on your rollers on a baler if you have net wrap! The wrap will catch them tiney little grooves an wrap or tear mostly wrap if their is a little edge from a knife! Get a good pare of scissors for the baler!

Took my 848 fast net to the field for the first time yesterday. Had to look this video up to run the wrap. If you want to share tech advice back and forth on these things find a way to get me your email or something.

People usually say that if you have started with web covers, you will not go back. It can be expensive, but I think it pays off in the long run. The short periods of good weather mean that you need to work quickly with the hay. You may be able to save more hay with the faster version of the baler.
@jwhitley101whitleyfarms94 жыл бұрын
Its not more expensive I can wrap a bale in a 3 seconds or so if I tie one your getting close to a min doesn't sound like much but when you are baling 1200 acres it adds up quick
@boehmfarm42764 жыл бұрын
If the field it's raked good, I can make a bale and dump it in less than two minutes.

@@boehmfarm4276 we run average of 9 where its rough 4 and 5 usually 250 to 300 bales a day we are at 2200 bales and I hope it doesn't warm up enough to cut anymore hahahaha we got 1and a half cuttings this year and the smaller fields close to the house we cut for a 3rd before the temp dropped

With that net wrap baler you're just growing your one small step at a time and you ain't going broke to buy a better but the net wrap will protect your hey a lot longer what all you can do is grow your farm one small step at a time
@boehmfarm42764 жыл бұрын
Yes, many small steps and no bank.

Cant help to wonder if this baler has fostered a new appreciation for girls in fishnet stockings. 😂 Jokes aside, reloading net seems to be pretty fool proof. I know, I am one. Start counting them bales on that role!
@boehmfarm42764 жыл бұрын
The wrap didn't have to do any fostering.

When you change the net wrap roll, is there a decent space between the rubber feed roll and the back roll? I can’t seem to get my net to feed in between them. Any help would be appreciated
@boehmfarm42763 жыл бұрын
Push on the front roll. That'll make the other two separate.

Hey there, I have a shot at buying a baler just like this, have you had any issues? Or anything I should look out for? It has a bent air bag bracket..

9000 foot roll on a 4x4. Putting 2 wraps around roll should tet you close to 260 rolls per roll of net....its well worth it with the time you save wrapping

Most definitely.

Yeah that stuff is a PITA to get rid of. Not as bad as bale wrap though. Really fun when it freezes to the bale. 😂
@datbomb984 жыл бұрын
Just put of curiosity why do you like the chain balers over the belt ones?
@datbomb984 жыл бұрын
And yes net wrap is ridiculously expensive the savings with twine is minimal though we use about a pallet and a half of wrap a year
@datbomb984 жыл бұрын
Also be sure and keep that wrap covered if it gets wet itll stick in the roller and the cardboard will swell... it'll be a pain in the ass we always take the unused wrap out at the end of the year and put it in the garage... if you ever have trouble feeding wrap baby powder is your best friend
@boehmfarm42764 жыл бұрын
I don't know if I could touch a belt baler with net for similar price, and I like to see the bale. This one had a new chain put in it a few years ago.
@datbomb984 жыл бұрын
@@boehmfarm4276 i gotcha! I got a new holland 648 which is a belt baler with net wrap for only $3500 a few years ago I know chain balers are only like 500-1,000 but I can get around 20ish sometimes more sometimes less squares out of one 4x5
