Staying under 4000 RPM (around 40 MPH) as I work towards the magic "300 miles" number that will allow me to take the Ibex up to 6000 for the next 300. And then I'll be FREE! At least I have 70+ degree weather for the ride!
Not as much of a "planned topic" on this one as it is just a nice ride on a beautiful February day.
Thanks for stopping by! Please remember to like and subscribe!

It’s about 550 pounds lighter than my daily rider. I can’t wait to add this one to my stable. I rode one at the dealer and love it.

Just got mine. I'm in a similar position. It's been about 30 yrs since I was a regular rider of a Honda Nighthawk 250. The 450 feels like a heavy bike especially compared to the Nighthawk.

I'm starting to get used to it. Gotta break some bad habits developed with a lighter bike, like sometimes stopping with my front wheel turned. Then I find myself having to catch the bike as it decides to take a nap.

I understand. I've been without a bike since early November and this was the one I wanted to replace it. So, I was also "waiting for it to land". The difference is that none of the dealerships here would take pre-orders. I had to wait for them to actually hit the dealership, which meant I was checking about a dozen websites every day to see if they'd arrived. Fingers crossed yours arrives soon!!!

Interested in your comment about the mirrors. Moderate engine vibration seems to be a common characteristic reported by testers of all engines in the 400-450cc class with the exception of the CFMoto motor and was wondering if you consider that a probable reason the mirrors are clearer on your Ibex compared to your Z500? I know you don't have a lot of miles on the Ibex motor yet but would appreciate if you would comment in the future about the comparative engine smoothness of the Ibex and Z motors.

My Z's mirrors had a LOT of vibration when on the highway. So much so that they were practically useless at times when I REALLY needed them. I've not seen similar vibrations on the Ibex...yet. Of course, I'm not in higher revs yet either. BUT I expect them to be better. The reason I expect this is because of the way they're mounted. The Z was a single steel rod connecting the mirror to the handlebars that transmitted all vibration directly to the mirrors. The Ibex mirrors are on joints that can help absorb some of the vibrations. The reviews I've read about the Ibex (or 450MT elsewhere) indicate that there's not a lot of vibration there. Had I kept my Z, I would've been doing something about those mirrors. As for engine smoothness, I'd have to say the Kawasaki 180 parallel twin was a bit smoother. But that may be perception based upon sound. Obviously, the 270 crank gives a beefier note, which I may perceive as not as smooth. I've not noticed that it lacked anything in power delivery, however. In fact, the Ibex seems to have more torque on the lower end than my Z had, which is what I expected. It certainly has shorter gears, as you can tell from the fact that I'm only going about 40 MPH true at 4000 RPM in 6th. As I get into higher revs, I expect I'll see that means giving up some of the high end on the highway. I'm not planning on taking this thing above 80-ish as a matter of habit, so I'm not too concerned about that high end. For those who DO worry about it, there are a number of videos out there about swapping out the sprocket to give more high end.

There are a few around. Last I checked, Northeast Georgia Motorsports in Hoschton had one left. Southeast Motorcycle in Douglasville had 5. Extreme Powersports in Columbus also had 5. Mountain Motorsports in Gadsden, AL looks like they still have one. That's about all I can find around Georgia.
