As one of my favorite tennis youtubers, I would like to tell you about Tyler Tennis Championships, which is a Challenger 75 tournament that has a large possibility of bumping their prize money up to $100,000 next year. It would be awesome for you to come down here in Texas to play, and I'm sure you would find the atmosphere enjoyable/ This year we've had some great singles players (Brandon Holt; ATP 299, Mitchell Krueger; ATP 251, Alexis Galarneau; ATP 153), and so many more. It would be amazing for you to consider this, and as a ballboy I would have front row seats 😆.

Great videos! In the singles match his backhand seemed vulnerable to be attacked. His footwork did its best to make up for it, but your highlights didn’t show you challenging his backhand at all in the first set. I would have liked to see him pass you twice in a row with his backhand.

Felix, I absolutely love your videos. Your analysis is correct, but please don't over complexify it. Play to your strengths and try to be as consistent as possible. Try to win more "boring" points like Sell mentioned before. A match like this one should not make you nervous, but you should take it more relaxed, as on paper you should be losing it anyway. Underdog role can be great sometimes ;) Good luck! You have a great game style for doubles by the way!
@derekpappas15565 ай бұрын
I have said it before when it was not accepted by others nor convenient . Your strengths are in doubles and announcing . Place your energy here and the path to success will be achieved . You are young with dreams and yet to achieve the core of it , logic is necessary . Aimless wandering to and fro is a distraction and distraction is destruction , especially from the self .

Nice video Felix, in singles when you’re nervous you seem to refrain from playing how you are comfortable hitting hard on your forehand, going for the 1-2 punches, it seems you go to just push the ball in which isn’t your style of tennis, it shows in the last point of the match hitting weak shots bouncing in the service box whilst your opponent is stood halfway in the court. Somehow I think you need to find a way to be more relaxed on court and just swing through your forehand as it’s your best weapon, being aggressive

Players that hit top 100 usually start getting ATP points around 16/17 years old. Felix is 20 already so he’s definitely years behind. But you know what, he’s probably got the resources from this KZbin channel to grind on the tour for years. Maybe he’l get to #200/300 or something when he’s 25 or a little older even.

Tough opponent. I see a lot of comments mentioning “you don’t have the mental” bla bla. I don’t know about that, you keep fighting despite the tough score, that’s already commendable. For me your main issue here is obviously tactical. You mention that the score doesn’t reflect the ball-striking / decision-making. In my opinion, the score definitely reflects the decision-making. You allowed this guy to hit 90% forehands. Several times you come to the net… to his forehand and lose the point. Here your first thought should be “how do I get him to play more backhands?”. I’m definitely not as good as you are, but I’m older and if there is something I’ve learnt with age, it is to see tennis as a chess-game whereas when I was younger I would only try to hit the ball hard. Your tactical thinking needs to be way more than “I’ll try to be more aggressive”. Two other things that I think would have been worth trying: short cross-court (not sure of the term), very effective on clay, and varying heights (maybe slice to his forehand and big top spin to his backhand). Obviously easy to say on the keyboard, maybe this would not have worked, but what I mean is that you need to become more self aware of what’s happening. Hope this doesn’t sound harsh, but I wish myself that I had figured this out earlier, plus it’s an aspect of the game that I got to really enjoy.

Not hating, but i really don't understand how you wanna reach higher level, when you yourself think a 1000's ranked player is better level than you. if you don't believe you can play the level you aim to, you will never get there. everytime you obssesively look at your opponents ranking, even if they got like 1 or 2 atp points, and already concider yourself the underdog, "he is better ranked than me so it's gonna be difficult", it sounds like you try finding excuses for your loss before it even happened. if you really wanna go pro, you need to change this mentality, otherwise you are just wasting your time.

nice work!!! But even though you tried to be more agressive in certain points of the match, by going more to the net, accelerating your forehand, you never put pressure on your opponents backhand! He barely hit a backhand and it kinda looks like he wasn´t very comfortable hitting his BH! I even prefer the shape of your strokes better than his, but he was better tatically. I think you should try instead of trying to hit harder your FH and BH every time, try to make a better shot and try to open the court, especially on your opponent backhand! But congrats on your evolution!

that "wide forhand" at 10:32 wasn't wide. you can see it hit the line in this video. you can see the chalk fly up after it hits. however you should always plan on getting several mistaken calls on every match of course.

Felix not gonna lie, the dude you lost from at singles is not better than you. His technique is 10x worse, maybe his footwork is slightly better. But you know what your main problem is? It's your mental game. You need to believe you can win these matches and play your aggressive game man. IMO you can play atleast challengers or atp 250, but you need to believe in yourself
