My First Steps Outside with Crutches | Post-Injury Journey in Toronto

Join me as I take my first steps outside with crutches after a recent foot injury. It's been 3 days since I started using crutches, and this is my first time venturing outdoors. I’ll share my experience of adapting to life on crutches, the challenges I face, and how I’m overcoming them. ‪@JohnnyStrides‬ walks with me to the nearest cafe in Toronto, and it was pretty challenging!

Try knee rover, or I walk free a lot better then crutches! Try I.V Vitamin drip for accelerated healing bone Cartlidge scar tissue etc. preventative health will help tremendously, Arnica internally for the SHOCK alone allows blood flow for shock takes a few weeks or more to leave the body, just saying. Milk too processed better I.V drip

Just so you know, the crutches are NOT supposed to be placed in your armpits. Place the top of the crutches on the fatty part of your body just under the armpits. This placement shouldn’t be painful. I know this is a big deal to you now, because it’s your first real injury. Your friend has given you good and true advice. Soon, this injury will be a memory. Onwards and upwards. Good luck. And take your friend out to lunch or dinner for all the help he’s giving you!

Oh I feel your pain, Ken. I have had to use crutches more than several times in my life and each time it was so hard to get used to those crutches. Hey Action Kid, I just got my crutches yesterday and I’m having the most difficult time ever using them as they look exactly like yours and they are very slippery inside my home so maybe I need to try outside. Why are you pushing yourself so much right after your break? Do you want to heal quickly or prolong it? Elevate and give your broken bones time to heal. I am no doctor but I do suggest only doing what you have to for 2 weeks or be prepared to delay your healing. Ask your doctor! RICE rest, ice, compression, elevation. It took me a year to heal from a broken heel.

This was a tremendous feat you just accomplished AK. Walking on crutches is not easy and the distance you traveled is amazing. I'm sure your arms were sore the next day. Please don't injure any other part of your body trying to do too much on crutches. I tore my meniscus in my right knee getting up from a chair while I was on crutches for a left foot injury. Good luck with your progress.

Hey AK, sorry again about your injury. You have to do what you have to do to get around. It is not easy, I have been on crutches, a cane and aai always stay creative on how and what to do by trial and error. Sincerely sorry you're incapacitated for a while, Ken. Learning to walk with crutches is not fun. I'm sure you're worrying about all your filming, and how much this is going to set you back, physically. Use this time to recuperate and heal. There's nothing you can do to fast-forward the recovery. The up-side is you don't need surgery, and from this will come stories! Our lives are all about stories...as you know. SoCal.
