They did a good job pushing that 500T for you. Negative with super 8 really is a game changer. Congrats on get your first roll done.

I didn't request that they push it either! I think it naturally was over-exposed by a stop due to the max speed detection in the 514XL. They scanned it in LOG which meant I could get a lot out of it. It worked out pretty nicely - looking forward to seeing the results from the next few!

Nice this. Does have such a beautiful aesthetic! I shot 8mm when I was a kid trying to make wallace and gromit at home and it always kinda looked like garbage - I think I had no concept of light, or the need for it. Would be interesting to see how close to this look you could get in Dehancer.

Making Wallace and Gromit at home. Love it. Dehancer is pretty cool and can emulate some of the look, and if you added in Super 8 frames then it'd get partway there - though a lot of the feel is also down to the janky focussing and zoom and cuts that are much harder to replicate. Perfect digital autofocus would give the game away! For me it's as much about the process as the results, though after a year I might change my mind once I am bankrupt from developing the stuff.

A place called Gauge Film in the UK processed and scanned it. I then edited it once I got the MOV back. :)

Yep that's super. I have a ton of it in my loft from the 1970's and 80's. One tip to keep the blur down is to keep the camera as motionless as possible. I used to use a small table tripod or clamps and cable releases. Helps a bunch. You could get some blue filters if shooting inside to colour correct it will reduce the orange. Looks better than trying to correct after in software.

Hey thanks a lot! Yeah, I definitely need to move a bit smoother at times, though I kinda like the jerky nature for what I'm doing. I've got an orange filter for outside, and using tungsten film inside - but this night was a special case as there was literally just single orange lights for the party ha.
