Just a fun tidbit, not trying to start trouble, but.... if that's true they are against caffeine (and other things), there is a small amount of caffeine in chocolate (9mg per 1.5oz, according to a google search), so (and I'm no scientist so if someone can show me evidence contrary), unless they can find some way to "decaffeinate" the chocolate that they use (or if it's just "white chocolate" colored brown), they are indeed using caffeine in their products.

We all appreciate Emmy giving her take on the cookies, which I've seen in the comments. I've tried them in Hawaii, and while it's an individual preference of quality, quantity and price, most people I know will like price, quantity, quality being the last priority. It's an individual preference if a gourmet type of cookie is something that they really crave, but at most malls, they have cookie shops like before Mrs. Fields, Cookie Corner, with various names and such, I buy them occasionally, but I'm not a cookie fit kind of person. Oatmeal raisin, Peanut Butter, a good shortcake cookie is okay, as during those days of public-school cafeteria school lunches, they were the type we have on the items for lunch or snack bar of the schools. My mom's neighbor was a great mom, baker and accountant but her rustic upbringing enabled her great baking skills, so every Christmas, she and her young daughters all helped make several batches of different cookies which she gave to neighbors, relatives, and co-workers. Each a three-pound coffee can or large mayonaise jar of assorted cookies that were top notch, whether almond cookies, chocolate chip, peanut butter, sugar or oatmeal raisin cookies. No one needed gourmet cookies if her cookies were around.

In large bowl or mixer, combine brown sugar, sugar, butter and shortening until very smooth. Add vanilla and egg. Blend well (Mix 10-15 minutes). Stir in flour, baking soda and salt until combined. Add chocolate chips (and nuts). Scoop onto non greased baking sheets and bake for 7-10 minutes depending on size of scoop.

I know I can do better but I don’t have the patience to make them myself. I will pick up one or two cookies from Crumbl every now and then. Or I get a cookie or a slice of cake from the grocery store bakery. Either way, it’s a five minute drive.

Yes I know. I used to be motivated to bake. I’m not anymore. I’m single, no kids. Crumbl and the grocery store is there for when I want “good enough” and don’t want to drive or walk too far. There are a couple of bakeries a little further away (maybe 10-15 minute drive) that are outstanding and definitely better than what I can or want to do. I will go to these places when the urge strikes.

It's hard to fairly assess the chewiness of a cookie when it's warm, although perhaps it's fair in the case where they're serving the cookie warm. A chocolate chip cookie's texture is significantly different when at room temperature or cold, and will always be chewier than when it's warm.

Emmy, you and I were on the same wavelength this week. I tried Crumbl this week for the first time. I’ve heard mixed reviews. We got a four pack and it cost us almost $18. We tried the chocolate chip, lemon poppy seed, white chocolate macadamia and the Oreo cake looking desert. I thought the chocolate chip needed a little salt, the lemon filling in the lemon poppy seed was too tart and just didn’t seem like it belongs in a cookie. The white chocolate macadamia was nothing to write home about and the Oreo was way too thick and sweet. My husband said the only thing that tasted like Oreo was the mini Oreo decoration on the top. My cookies were not warm and I wasn’t given napkins nor did I see them on a counter. My verdict, not for me and not worth the price or hype.

It's a really confusing store to walk into. The cookies they advertise are so over the top huge and sugary, I expected the interior of the shop to be kind of cute and colorful or at the very least a bit fun. The one here is so intensely minimalist and sterile that I felt like I had accidentally walked into a back area where they make the cookies instead of the storefront. It made me feel like the influencers they are courting are those super minimalist clean girls or whatever they are called, but they're selling these really over the top cookies?? It just doesn't make sense.

Look I know they're a bit hyped, and pricey, and very sugar heavy, but I honestly kinda love their cookies... Like I just go crazy for a WARM chocolate chip cookie. I crave that warmth and goo and a warm cookie it's so good and comforting to me😭Not all are amazing and worth the splurge tho! Personally I think most of the more "special" ones are worth the treat! Like the different chocolate ones like brownie or lava cake - amazing and WARM and CHOCOLATELY, but some of the similar ones are somewhat too samey, like a sugar cookie one and vanilla birthday cake one would taste pretty similar because they have a similar "plain" base and probably won't be warm to make it more tastey. But I also think their standard pink frosted one is actually really good for a more plain flavor - it surprisingly had a nice noticeable vanilla flavor that I rarely actually taste in cookies. Like I expected to just taste like sweet plain cookie with frosting, but no it had a really really nice vanilla flavor. Okay cookie ramble over lmao.

Crumble cookie came out here in my area 4 years ago and I'm wondering if it's something new for other places because it's very popular online right now I'm located in California

I prefer flat chewy cookies! That cake is what I'd go for❤

Same! My local Subway sandwich store, of all places, makes some AMAZING chocolate chip (and other) cookies- always fresh, thin/flat, and very chewy (and fall-apart-y with the softness), with the tiniest hint of crunch. I'm not sure if other Subways have the same cookies or cookie recipe (I've had some from a catered Subway box lunch one time, and they tasted like generic very-mass-produced pasty cookie, so I don't know what happened there), but..... if they do, HIGHLY recommend. I'd pay easily for a dozen of their cookies any day. And I bet it's cheaper than ONE Crumbl cookie.

Awesome review Emmy 🤙🏼, I've never tried cookie crumble. I would try one of them due to the size compared to other cookie places and most likely eat it with some black coffee since it's too sweet 👍🏼.

Took grandkids there on their request. Not been back since they kids moved away.

I went there once and wasn't impressed. Cool idea, liked that they were warm, ...tasted ok.

Chocolate chip cookies are also my fav today but white chocolate macadamia nut was my favorite growing up.
