I live in Queens NY where in the neighborhood of Woodside they have a large Filipino population and where they opened the first NY Jollibee. The place, before the virus hit, was packed solid every day, and often lines went around the block waiting to get in. Since I love a good burger, I tried their Big Yum, and I have to say it was probably the best or one of the best fast food burgers.

I know its kinda absurd that the spaghetti is sweet, usually because its made from the banana ketchup that the filipinos used, originally its made from tomatoes, but because of the sheer amount of banana plantation in the phillipines, Maria Y. Orosa created the first banana ketchup, and ever since then filipinos use banana ketchup as a staple.

@conanbarbrien That's odd. Idk if it's got something to do with the location or branch but I always preferred Jollibee's gravy over KFC's. I actually recall myself calling KFC's gravy as "bland" the first time I tasted it. Not to mention their chicken was always too soggy and too oily for me-rarely the case when I get me some of Jollibee's. I always had them crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Anyway, to each their own. I actually feel sorry that you had a bad experience. Some bad first impression, I guess... since you're spreading that much hate on Jollibee (and Filipino cuisine). Yes, you need to chill out. Spreading hate does no good. Also yeah, the Jollibee gravy I know does taste a little bit like Japanese curry.

The Philippine food culture developed from the US Military sharing their rations during WWll. That why it has kinda strange things like the spaghetti with hot dogs...
@marjoriemargel15674 жыл бұрын
conanbarbrien You sound like you are young. During WWll, the Philippine natives were at the mercy of the Japanese who were starving them. My great uncle was one of MacArthurs generals over there during that time. My great uncle, General Emmons, also established hospitals, orphanages , and especially swimming centers for those orphans in the Forties. I was very lucky to meet one of those former orphans about twenty years ago. Partially due to MacArthur, this young boy was able to be on the 1960 Rome Olympics team from Manila. He won the Bronze medal there. So, now you have a bit of history to help you with understanding Jollibee !!

Earl Scheib Paint- Company history Founded by Earl Scheib (February 28, 1908 - February 29, 1992)[2] in Los Angeles in 1937,[3] the company grew quickly following World War II and by 1975 had branches in Germany and England, all company-owned, with Scheib manufacturing his own paint through a wholly owned subsidiary. Born in San Francisco on February 28, 1908, Earl moved to Southern California with his family when he was 10. A graduate of Los Angeles High School, Earl never went to college. Instead, he got a job as a gas station attendant changing oil and tires for General Petroleum Co. in the late 1920s. Not long after, he went into business with his own gas station on the corner of Whitworth and Fairfax. His neighbors soon began asking if he knew anyone who could paint their cars. So, each night, after closing time, Earl would paint cars in the station's lube garage. It didn't take long for word of Earl's painting service to spread, and soon there was more paint business than the station could handle. As a result, he sold his station, rented a "shack" on the corner of Pico and La Brea (Los Angeles), and in 1937 opened the first Earl Scheib Paint and Body. His philosophy was "work hard, be on time, and don't worry about how much you make." It was a belief that underscored the way he ran his business.[4] Earl Scheib's paint-coating systems were used by its company-owned paint and collision repair shops. The paint also was sold to original equipment manufacturers and architectural construction firms.

My husband and I watch your videos every day, even if there aren't any new ones. Keep up the good work. Much love to ya, brother.

Damn, when I suggested this to Adam I didn't think he'd hit it so quick. For those who follow Adam's videos, this Jollibee is located across the street from the Wal-Mart he went to a while back for his supplies. The Jollibee location itself used to be home to Anaheim's Chris & Pitts barbecue joint. You can still find their sauce in many so cal supermarkets. I ate at Jollibee once, and I thought it was OK. Kept saying I'd go back but never did. Love the pineapple juice option. Adam, one more suggestion for ya: The Hat in Brea, on state college near Brea Mall. They're mainly known as a Pastrami joint, but they have great burgers, huge portions, and really good chili.

I was looking in the comments for someone to mention Chris & Pitts as the old location. I miss their food but at least the bbq sauce is being sold.

Fairly new to your channel, but ive been catching up the past few weeks. And love it here! These local food spot videos have been great! Sure does give me a list of new spots to try next time im in that area! Jollibee is delicious, and the videos usually get a ton of views! You did the chicken correct, there would've been a million comments otherwise. Hot dogs and a sweet ketchup in the spaghetti. The pie is delicious too! Have a good day!

The best technique for eating the Chickenjoy and spaghetti combo is to alternate bites of the chicken with the spaghetti. The savory taste and crunch of the fried chicken perfectly balances the sweet and cheesy taste of the spaghetti. It's surprising how well they go together, it can be addictive!

It's easy to make. Just buy a DOLE pineapple juice. The ratio is 2:1, pineapple juice and water. Put sugar according to your liking, ice and mix them all together

What!, there's a Jollibee at Anaheim. You got the highly recommended items at Jollibee. All of the items are really good, and if you got a craving of fried chicken, peach mango pie, pineapple juice as a thirst quencher. The filipino spaghetti is a great combo for the fried chicken. Customers who have tried Jollibee will always get the ChickenJoy and order gravy on the side. All nationalities of all walks of life will get the ChickenJoy with gravy and whatever sides they want. They say ChickenJoy is the best compared to other fried chicken fast food joints. And the 8-bucket ChickenJoy with free gravy is pretty cheap meal.

One of the few KZbin videos of a person on their first time at Jolibee eating the chicken correctly! Congratulations! I get upset seeing some first timers not even opening the gravy! Clueless!!! That chicken with the gravy on it is 100% money in the bank delicious!!! The spaghetti is good too! Love me some Jolibee! The closest one to me is about 35 miles away. 100% worth the trip!! There needs to be a lot more of their restaurants around the US. They rock!!!
