TROUT FISHING A TINY CREEK FOR INCREDIBLE TROUT!
This is another one of those videos where I didn't put any music or fancy edits into it. Just a pure example of what happens 75% of the time I go fishing. This is about as real as it gets so I hope you enjoy!
I've been busy deer hunting since October so I'm a little rusty. But in this video I went fly fishing for rainbow trout in a tiny creek that I haven't fished in a few years. This stream as an abundance of wild trout, most of which just aren't all that big. It's fun fishing though and a good way to get out and catch a few fish when you really haven't been out much. I was using a simple euro rig and I caught a multitude of trout, including a few double ups which are always a pleasant surprise.
Thank you guys for all of the support in 2023! I probably won't see you until next year. So have a merry Christmas and a Happy Holidays!! #troutfishing #flyfishing #outdoors #fishing

Cool getting 2 in one go its same as drop shoting you cast out 2 or 3 flys with a small weight on the rip and jig win on a slow retrieve,anyway you'll probably know this bit its a good method especially d those who catch more shrubs n trees than dish trying to cast lol.❤great video

Nice to see you back fishing again, I really enjoyed the video a great little stream what a pity about that tyre dumped in it though. As I've said before in the uk a creek is a saltwater inlet and not a small river. Another example of how USA and UK English differs. Keep them coming, all the best for 2024.
@hardmanfishing
@hardmanfishing 4 ай бұрын
That's interesting, for us a creek is usually just defined as a tributary of a river usually. But there is no great definition and it seems to very as to what is called a "creek" depending on what part of the USA I'm in. Either way thanks for watching and I hope you had an awesome holidays!

I discovered your channel recently, and have really been enjoying your content. One of the things I really appreciate is how you offer a lot of great advice to new anglers, without telling people precisely where you're fishing. For me, one of the most fulfilling things about fishing has been the exploration, and discovery. Over the years, I've seen quite a few trout fishing spots get wiped out after some youtubers do videos sharing the locations. I don't think they have ill intent, but the results tend to be the same. The fishing spots end up full of liter, and the fish populations rapidly decline. A lot of these places(even stocked locations) just aren't able to sustain the pressure that comes when hundreds, if not thousands, of people learn about the spot in one day. The way I see it is, if you had a coworker who littered all the time and bragged about keeping way more fish than his/her limit, would you invite them to fish in your best spots? Of course not, that would be foolish. But when people make videos sharing spots, they're inviting hundreds or thousands of people who they do not know, and the results tend to be the same. The spots are never the same again. Sorry for the long comment. A place my brother and I have fished for years recently got some youtube attention, and now it looks like a dump. It's sad to see.

Thanks for the kind words! I think the spot burning aspect of social media in general is a tough subject. I think for the most part people try to be good / aren’t doing it for the wrong reasons. But sometimes it does far more harm than good. I try to never say where I’m fishing, most times I don’t even say the state, just in an attempt to have people not try and figure out every single hole I fish.. because that’s not the point of the videos. I agree I think exploration is a huge reason why I love fishing so much. But that’s not for everybody. Thanks for watching

That looks like a beautiful spot, we have wild brown and Brook trout but it's nearly impossible to get a fish to take a fly this time of year, I might have a go at drop shooting you ever use that method?? If you were lucky enough to catch this time of year they would be tiddlers like your getting, do the big wild browns not feed during winter?? They seem to vanish then come spring your average fish will be 1lb to 1.5lb if I get one over 2lb I put a notch on my Winchester knife my dad bought in arizona and in 12 years its had only 6 notches..

Any time you can get on a stream is a great time! Congrats on a great video and fun outing. Small steam finesse nymphing is the only way I’ve trout fished so far, in N.C., exactly the environment you were in, and is such a blast. Great content and real scenes from my limited experience. Getting in sometimes is the worst part of it, but I’m an old guy. All part of the experience, along with the tree and brush snags. Best of luck on your soonest outing, and Merry Christmas!
