@paulgangell3264 it gave me the option starting at 2200 - 6000. I put the lowest bid. Yes it's still a bit but it was an enjoyable experience. World's apart from economy

How do you bid for an upgrade? Is it open to everyone or do you need to be a frequent flyer? Do you know how many seats are available? How long does it take to be informed if you won? Hope you enjoyed your time in Corfu. From someone who left Australian shores 25 years ago, I am not surprised you are depressed about future prospects down under. Although currently it is not easy anywhere with inflation and stagnant/and often decreasing wages. Good luck in finding a place to live/settle where you will be happy!! Luckily in Europe you can often find a place which is not that far from a larger town.

You get an email before the flight, be wary sometimes on someflights this can be a bit of a rip off in the sense of what you get for example (Melbourne to Cairns) Virgin can offer a bid to upgrade to business class, its not too much but on some flights "business" is not the same as Internatonal business, and its basically just premium economy. I was flying Etihad to Greece, Generally 1 or 2 days before your flight they randomly send you an email saying "do you want to bid for an upgrade" it then lets you pull a sliding scale of how much you want to put in, (it does set a minimum amount), I decided to put in the minimum and got lucky! it said my chances were slim, but I won, and when I got to business, there was only 3 other people out of the 12 available seats.
