When Elton John first heard Greta Van Fleet, he really liked them and not only invited them to play at one of his parties, he also advised them on stage costumes and presence. If that hadn’t happened they might still be wearing t-shirts, flannel and jeans. EJ was nice enough to include their moms in the guest list. They were so young when they started their moms accompanied them to gigs. 😉

Don't really care what they're wearing. They are ARTISTS and really talented awesome human beings! Greta Van Fleet is a beautiful gift to this world. They are a phenomenon! Heavier faster songs?...Built By Nations, When the Curtain Falls, Safari Song just to name a few. Their entire new album is an epic MASTERPIECE!! I like how you mentioned my favorite verse of the song too. I'm a member of that Peaceful Army. You do know that 3 of the 4 band members are actually brothers...Josh and Jake are twins...keyboard/bass player is the younger brother. Danny the amazing drummer is their longtime friend from the town they all grew up in...Frankenmuth, Michigan!🤘🤘🤘

The organ in the song is even more cool because he is using an actual Hammond B3 organ from the 60's i believe, with an actual rotary amplifier which is what would have been used with it originally! He also has a pedal board by his feet to play his bass parts with his feet.

Song is spiritual in nature. The sound of the song is pretty good. His voice has amazing range. checked out a couple live versions of this song. His vocals are pretty amazing live too

Mmh I can try to explain the outfits for the video, and the whole atmosphere. From what I've understood, this is supposed to be like heaven and they are supposed to be angels, all white because it represents purity, or something like that. Like the utopian place where you go when you die, I think. The song also talks about "ascending to the stars". This is what I read somewhere, if I remember correctly

They don't have many fast songs from their latest albums. More slower paced anthems, not ballads, but just slower paced. Light my love is a ballad though. Fastest song from their new album is Built By Nations, to me at least. But i recommend listening to the the newest album (live versions of their songs posted on their youtube are a must) before going back to their older songs. Older songs are good as well song as Edge of Darkness, Safari Song, Black Smoke Rising, The Cold WInd, and Lover, Leaver, Taker, Believer.

There are several live versions of this song that have traditional rock show visuals. This is artsy, think Bowie or Queen. It is okay to like punk AND sweet beautiful music. This song is so awesomly beautiful even a punk fan can't help but like it. I have performed every kind of music, from pun and hip hop to classical to blues to dixieland to anything you can imagine. If there is some kind of music you are against, you are missing something you could love. Country, bluegrass, opera, anything. Don't uphold an image, be open. That is the message of this band. I saw a video of some middle school kids doing a cover of it, and have seen a comment by a 97 year old that loved it. Their fans are called the peaceful army. Feel free to join. You will be welcome, but leave all attitude and negativity to anything at the door..They are living as they want to, not concerned with their image. People all over the world love them. By the way, Josh (singer) wants to be a videographer and make movies to spread his message In concert, they dress like 70s rock stars. They are the most 100% positive people I have ever seen in media. Their parents come to their shows and their dad plays harmonica with them. There are videos of interviews with their parents telling their life stories. They invite you into their lives, unembarassed and strong, confident and loving. Everyone who works for them has to be like family. They like Ramones, Clash, Velvet Underground AND John Denver. They would not sign with a manager or label without keeping artistic control, their art is on their own terms. They have power without aggression, kind, warm gentle power. Their concerts have people from 8 to 80 of all types, all welcome with open hearts. They wear what they want and sing what they want and do not care what anyone thinks. Think of them as kind sweet punks. Their life story is an open book. They are the most authentic public people I have ever known. Feel free to join the peaceful army, marching hand in hand. I ama musician and did sound in night clubs. I have known punk rockers who were jerks and bullies, that's what they thought punk was. Other punkers were sweet wonderful people. Hope you are the second, and if you are, come and join the peaceful army and learn from them to be strong while loving people and practicing overwhelming strength with kind sweetness. i think the visuals are stunning and their outfits are very smart and expressive and personal to them and what the song represents, and to say they look stupid is almost unappreciative. you’re just admitting you don’t understand their art. you can say YOU don’t personally like it, but in general it is very beautiful, meaningful, personal and symbolic with the meaning of the song and overall message of the album

Some of the greatest bands have adopted stage clothes to stand out. Think Queen (who dressed odder as their popularity grew), Elton John (who advised GVF to be more flamboyant), heck even the Beatles became costume-ey over time. I kind of like that GVF is not just wearing jeans and hoodies.

Well, this is my video and I will pay attention to whatever I want. The clothes are silly as fuck and I wouldn't be at all surprised if they dressed that way on stage.
