When I hear Patsy's voice, I think, "That's a grown woman's voice, right there." A mature feminine voice that sounds like it could be such a powerhouse, but she uses it with beautiful control.

Possibly her biggest songs, "Crazy", was written by Willie Nelson. Kinda crazy that Willie was already an accomplished artist/songwriter, even way back in the early 60's, and he's thankfully still with us today.

Loretta Lynn was on her way up when we lost Patsy. The perfect Loretta song to answer this song is "Fist City". But, before you get to that song and the Queen of country music, take a listen to "SWEET DREAMS" by Patsy Cline. Sweet Dreams cements Patsy in every music Hall of Fame. Yes her voice even today cannot be matched, God and the Angels couldn't get enough so they took her from us early. Thank You for the reaction and Respect to a true American Icon. Back when they actually knew how to write a song, and sing live. No electronic tricks, just stepped up to the microphone with a live band back in the corner, and sang and recorded it live. These "artists" of today cannot do that.

@@DoIttMiaaaa I'm a six-year-old white guy from the Midwest, but this music was more than music of my parents and grandparents generation and so therefore though, I heard it a whole lot growing up in the late 1960s and early 1970s. And later when I played in pans for years and just a music lover and player of all sorts., in my twenties I played in a rockabilly band and then later a honky tonk band where we explored music from all genres from all decades but still tried to make them our own and be ambassadors of really cool music from the past while also covering new music. And I learned so much about why I love Patsy Cline. She died way too early of course. But she has a rich catalog which I advise you to check out almost anything from in fact anything from. She was this Alto without any formal training that just naturally killed. She had the nation in the palm of her hand there for a while before she died.

Patsy Cline was from Virginia... born Virginia Patterson Hensley, she began singing in the 1940's at the age of 15... She became a performer in the country music scene in the 1950's and began recording songs in the decade. By 1960, she was becoming a star w/ her first hit songs. In 1961, Patsy Cline was injured in a near-fatal car accident that caused injuries to her head and scalp... Thankfully, she recovered and returned to performing 6 weeks after her accident, appearing w/ a wig to hide her scars. Between 1962 and 1963, she toured more often as her career got bigger. Sadly, Patsy Cline died in an airplane accident in 1930 while on tour... She was 30 at the time of her death and left behind 2 children w/ her 2nd husband. Her legacy is her outstanding voice on recordings in her lifetime.

The backing vocals by the Jordanaires appeared on all of Patsy Cline's Decca sessions from her first in November 1960 to her last in February 1963, during which time they backed her on songs such as Crazy, I Fall to Pieces, Walkin' After Midnight. They are widely known for providing background vocals for Elvis Presley in live appearances, recordings, and feature films from 1956 to 1970.

In 1962, when I was 8 years old, my parents took my to an auditorium in Nashvill Tennessee to see show put on by a number of musicians. Among them was a lady named Patsy Cline. As she began to sing she looked down from the stage right into my eyes and I thought I had met an angel. She would be dead less than a year later. I suppose Angels aren't supposed to stay on Earth long.
