Believe it or not, Setzer _actually_ gives you something if you let him win! He gives you a medal that you can equip for +1 strength, as opposed to the more "defense-based" struggle belt you get for winning.

"Are any of the Vivis real?" That is a very good question. Even in his own game, FF9, that was a good question to ask. In KH it is very interesting that Vivi is the only blatantly nonhuman person in Twilight Town. As for Vivi's creep factor, I blame the open zippered mouth on his hat. That's a white squiggly bad guy thing in this game, having a zipper opened just enough to see the real head hiding inside. I don't remember Vivi's hat being like that in FF9.

I really enjoy the beginning of the game, many people who went straight from KH1 to KH2 were really confused because they didn't recognize any of the locations or characters introduced so its great to see you piecing it together :D. Poor roxas always getting robbed of his fun :(

Im one of those people! Totally missed CoM as a kid. Part of me sort of prefers it, as you end up being just about as clueless as Roxas is. Not that I'd ever recommend anyone ever play that way haha.

Kingdom Hearts 2. A favorite among many KH fans, and for good reason. Everything has been improved from the original game: the camera, the combat, and how fluid everything moves. So, let me get some facts out of the way. You might recognize DiZ's voice actor from a movie series you watched not too long ago. It was none other than Christopher Lee, AKA Saruman from Lord of the Rings. I was quite shocked, to be honest, back in 2005, when I heard his voice for the first time. And he has become part of this lovely time capsule for us to enjoy for all time. Setzer, of course, is from Final Fantasy 6 and Vivi is from Final Fantasy 9. Seifer, and his two followersz Raijin and Fujin, are from Final Fantasy 8, just like Selphie. Nomura did not work on FF9, but Vivi is such a fan favorite character that he included him in this game. Seifer is lucky that he only got away with a minor beatdown, since Vivi is a very accomplished black mage. Kingdom Hearts 2 is definitely a favorite of mine. I love how much the universe has been expanded upon in this game and how much this game affects the other games. KH1 was the launching point..a testing ground to see if fans were interested in the series. KH2 is the rocket ship, blasting the players off into worlds of lore, new concepts, game mechanics, and whole new characters for us to fall in love with. Strap yourself in. You are in for a ride.

Sir Christopher Lee was such a great, I genuinely struggle to believe he’s not some kind of god like in Greek or Nordic mythology.

I like how your initial thoughts on Vivi were how he terrified you! Lmao. Its funny because - knowing that character from his original game, you would understand he is very much the opposite! Hes an amazing character in his original title and probably one of the most wholesome characters in final fantasy. His story really is one of those that grips the heartstrings. I know youve got a lot of content planned ahead of you but i would say definitely pen down a playthrough of FF9 at some point. You wont regret it.

I like how you pointed out that the combat feels different between KH1 & 2. Each game changes up the combat system so that it always feels like a fresh take. My favorite KH game, Birth by Sleep, has an interesting combat system as well. Can’t wait to eventually hear your thoughts on that game 😁

Still watching through, but be sure to read up your abilities in the menu. Some of them have specific limits on when they can be used, or what they're supposed to do. KH2 likes to use more than just the X button unlike KH1. Otherwise, amazing series!
