It's supposed to be like "Lavender Castle" if you remove the extra letters (a ton of people put emphasis on the VEN which sounds super weird to me!!) (yes it's an L not an i)
I was thinking of rebranding to a different name entirely, but that's too much effort and a lot of people would be confused sooooo... yeah. Also fun fact the name lavencas was kind of a placeholder until I thought of something that sounded better, but my channel exploded way faster than I would've ever imagined and by that point it was too late...
Name change might happen eventually (I've been saying this since march...) but I'm afraid of people not liking it lol

I think best way to do fiend folio is on its own save file and just through it with unlocks. That it's a little easier to manage and you can slide it easily in with your upload schedule

man, fiend folio is exactly just like terraria calamity mod but for isaac they both are such well made mods that have amazing new sprites and mechanics, overall quality, introduce so much new content that it pretty much does feel like another game. both also recieve the same feedback, with the whole "overwhelming" thing personally, i very much love mods that add a ton of content, just pretend its like playing the game for the first time again, except you already have some prior experience

I'm playing with this mod and saying some quide for start(to other people, and maybe you) Fiend is character,which is pretty much a glass cannon His hearts-purple is hearts, that depleted ALL of them immediately, but they become familiars, which making pretty decent damage in horde Purple can crit, which makes quad damage multiplier for this attack(has same item for player) But fiend turn into black minions and black hearts, and yes Every black heart turns into minion So you can just survive on 1 half of the heart, but hearts do not fully disappear After room clear minions turn into heart, but one half of one random heart disappear, so it's not infinite, but you lose only 1 hp But he isn't so helpless with hp His firewballs on doubletap are appearing passively, max 3 But he has some gimmick When the enemy dies from fireball He has a chance to drop disappearing half of purple heart Purple coins-gambler's dream They can or damage you, do -1 coin Or get more coins, give Stat up Or if you REALLY lucky- you can get all Stat up, small, but it's freaking coin Bosses of burning basement are really annoying If you want more quides-write in comments-i will explain that in comments

You definitely want to add the Excelsior mod to it, it's a different OST that fits Fiend Folio really well, similarly to the Boss music that's in the FF mod itself, but the other OST was separate from FF at first. Sodden Leisure is my personal fave (dank depths).

Actually I can confirm that quest thing with the ghosts isn’t from Epiphany. It’s from the samuel mod I believe. Can confirm mom’s shadow is an item from Epiphany though

The Bargaining's Chips show up in starting rooms of the floor and certain special rooms, according to the EID description, so it's like 5-7 (not sure which special rooms count, but i know secret and boss rooms do, and probably shops) per floor if you get both secret rooms

Immaculate Conception actually seems quite good with Fiend, considering if you ever get hit on a room you'll get halfway to the next familiar in seconds.

Do immoral hearts count as soul hearts? Soul hearts are converted to immoral hearts for Fiend, but I don’t know if hearts that are already immoral count

Hell yeah, Fiend Folio! Being completely honest here, it was getting rather stale for a while, even with the addition of Epiphany, so seeing videos with Samael and Fiend Folio made things a lot more interesting. I'd love to see more Fiend Folio in the future!

Part of the reason a lot of us asked for fiend folio is because your runs were getting repetitive, often the same if not identical builds because you play it safe every run.

I personally like FF because it basically did what anti birth did, which was revamp the entire game. Anti birth was such a good mod that it was even adopted as repentance with some extra stuff. So if FiendFolio gets enough attention, then it's likely the next DLC will be Fiend Folio plus a few more things.

I first started playing Binding of Isaac In March (I think.) I don't own the game, but my friend has it game shared to me on steam and I really only play it when I play it co-op with him. Because I would only play it when playing it with my friend, I have never actually played Binding of Isaac without Mods, I have only played the game with Fiend Folio and Epiphany mod. Hope you do play more of it because I find it a lot of fun.

One thing worth mentioning: fiend folio reheated has a some rare enemies and secrets, most of which can be accessed with the debug console

i started playing fiend folio as soon as i beat moms heart the first time, since i was introduced to isaac through fiend folio. so im able to give a unbiased opinion as someone who isnt "tainted" by vanilla purist ism the opinion: dear god the game is so much better with fiend folio. every enemy i find annoying, i eventually found out was a vanilla enemy. all the features i adored, and found fun, were all fiend folio, not vanilla. yet not once did i feel anything was out of place. the fact that, until i started deep diving on the wikis, i couldnt tell what was or wasn't modded, means that fiend folio also succeeded at not being too different. simce if you only notice something is modded because youve been playing the game for a thousand hours... its not nessecarily the mod thats out of place, youre just not used to anything new cause none of it really covers over vanilla, unless you consider expanding a dull area "covering over". fiend folio adds many puzzle rooms that are actually puzzles (and not trap rooms that arent actually traps and are just a single button surrounded by a gazillion spikes). fiend folio greatly expands upon preexisting themes of the floors, making them feel more in depth. not just enemies, which is how i was introduced to fiend folio (slay2xc s fiend folio enemy showcase videos), but subthemes and mechanics. i told my friend who hasnt played fiend folio that my favorite floor was dank depths. they were confused because, the vanilla dank depths is... very monotonous. but then they watched me play and they understood why i liked it. its simply so interesting to explore, with a lovely revamped and expanded aesthetic, and mechanics unique to the floor that make it feel like an actual thing and not a reskin(which is how i feel about a lot of vanilla. i mean really. the rebirth wiki says the basements theme is poop and flies... and says the cellars theme is poop and.. spiders. and, yeah, apt description. so when fiend folio takes the cellar and makes it about ghosts bees and spiders, like a theme of things that "infest" wooded rooms, like attics or... cellars, yeah its "not vanilla" in the sense that it makes what was basically a reskin into a unique experience. also many repentance devs also work(ed) on fiend folio. like a lot. its the same people, so it really isnt that big of a 180

All things considered, maybe you'd enjoy Repentance+ (if you don't already use it and I didn't notice-) it's a pretty cool mod that expands the Tainted unlocks and stuff ! (you just have to manually unlock some things because you already unlocked the tainteds and the mod adds things when you unlock the tainted, it's just not retroactive-). It's pretty cool, and still keeps somewhat of a vanilla feeling

The purple hearts are called immoral hearts, they are replacements for soul hearts for fiend, but you can make them available for other characters via an unlock, the way those work is that if you get hit you'll lose all the other immoral hearts you have, and they'll spawn as little minions that will attack enemies, kinda like minisaacs, but more like meat boys, once the room is cleared, they'll turn back into immoral hearts for you to pick thek back up

It’s a mod that can definitely be overwhelming at times, which is why I only activate it in short bursts. Then when I’m tired I’d it, I disable it. It’s a really good mod, but unless you get lucky on the first couple of floors you’re going to get flooded with enemies. So, FF might be a “once in a while” mod.
