My First Time Pole Vaulting ft. Olympian Menno Vloon

The summer Olympics are coming to Paris! One of the oldest sports in the Olympics is pole vaulting. The world record holder (6.24 meters / 20.5 ft) easily jumps over the average giraffe (5.5 meters / 18 ft). Today, we are meeting with a Dutch Olympian that is going to the Olympics again in Paris: Menno Vloon. He will help me set a personal best. I want to jump at least my own height of 2 meters, but will I come close to a giraffe? Let’s take it to the test. Enjoy.

Thanks! Appreciate that. That's awesome - what height are you currently challenging yourself with? 🙂 I would actually like to do pole vaulting for one week every second day just to see how the progression would be. Perhaps I'll do a video on that. Would you wanna see that?

@@CuriousMick yeah I would love to see more pole vaulting content my personal best right now is 14ft 6in (4.42m) I’m trying to clear 15ft next meet (4.57m).

@CuriousMick Yes, I do. I currently am vaulting 3 meters (10ft). Been vaulting for almost a year now.

Thanks Noah! It was definitely really cool to try pole vaulting. I found it incredibly difficult, but I can also imagine how you can progress quickly in the beginning. When did you start pole vaulting?

@@CuriousMick I started pole vaulting the spring season of 2021 as a freshman. Now I have pole vaulted 4 sports seasons since then and now I'm a junior. I have jumped 15'7" about 4.75m.
