This is one his favorite songs he's ever written. This is definitely his most vulnerable song. It's so so beautiful. Honestly both his albums are so so perfect. You're gonna love every single song and his bridges are always perfect. I can't wait for you to hear them ALL. Maybe next react to his song 'dear patience' preferably (live at the royal albert hall)

You have to watch Niall's performance of Dear Patience at Royal Albert Hall. If you think this was a glow-up vocally, that's one is going to blow your mind. And someone else mentioned his cover of New York State of Mind, it's so good. Also his Live Lounge version of Circles!

I love this song. I had a very similar reaction to you when I first heard it. "Please don't leave" is such a simple statement, but it says so much and is such a vulnerable thing to say. I love Niall's lyrics, he's a great storyteller and writes with simplicity and honesty in a way that is much more meaningful to me than lyrics where the words sound poetical but could basically have been put together by a random sentence generator. Both of Niall's albums, when listened to in order tell complete stories. If you listen to the bonus tracks, Heartbreak Weather loops in a full circle back to the beginning to show a cycle of making the same decisions and getting the same results. He's a such a good writer and he's really under-appreciated for it. I highly recommend Too Much To Ask, any song from his RTE orchestra performance, and his covers of Dancing in the Dark, Won't Back Down, Life in the Fast Lane, New York State of Mind, Where the Streets Have No Name, and With or Without You. Sorry for the long comment! I enjoyed seeing your reaction to this.

This song breaks me every time. I don't even know why I do this to myself, knowing full well what it'll do but I still love the song. It's no wonder he asks his audience to put away their cell phone and just be present in the moment for that song when he performs live. Imagine being the person who he wrote that song about and how awful it must feel to know you're the one who broke him like that. It makes me want to give him a big comforting squish (I could also be his mother, technically speaking so the mommy bear in me just really wants to come out).

It was a very emotional moment at his concert when he did this. It was completely quiet and there were NO phones in the air.

One direction was phenomenal and then they went solo and they are all amazing by themselves. It’s funny because during quarantine I started listening to Harry and I was like dang, then I went Niall and it was like no way he is awesome too, then I went to Louis and than Liam and I was just shocked. Then I bit the bullet and was like I guess I better listen to one direction (i did not listen to them when they were big). I realized that I missed a great band. And they are all so crazy down to earth. Now my 70+ year old dad is also a fan of them all. He even bought a 1D tshirt for himself and for his birthday this year I got him tickets to the Harry Styles concert and he was totally amazed like there were moments where he was just silent and cherishing in the music totally wowed. My dad and I are huge music fans and I am blessed to have someone that raised me to explore and fall in love with all kinds of music. AC/DC, Fleetwood Mac, Santana, Blind Faith, Journey, etc. and in return he loves to discover new artists I introduce him too like Ed Sheeran, Harry Styles, One Direction, Bruno Mars, The weekend, etc.

Welcome to Niall Nation. His entire Flicker album is personal and emotional but he has said the song Flicker is the most emotional. His second solo album Heartbreak Weather is also written from his heart and his experience with a break up. Put A Little Love On Me is the heartbreaking ballad that he wrote just after the break up and all the songs on the album follow the course of a relationship (his) from the beginning through the good times and finally the tough break up. Where the Flicker album is very acoustic which we expected from him, Heartbreak Weather has a more up tempo sound with some songs showing his rock side. Niall is in the studio now working on his third solo album and we can't wait. Thank you very much for this reaction. (He tried to re-record Put A Little Love on Me with a couple of different producers but ended up with the original demo he made because it was so raw and the emotion was so real.)

This is my all time favourite Niall's song (along with most of all of his other songs lol), the acoustic version sounds timeless and angelic. They all turned out to be increddibly good musicians and I'm not saying it as ecited teen fan,which I never was, I got to know about them less than a year ago))

This song is truly very beautiful and very emotional. He actually showed this song to the person he wrote it about and both him and that person broke down and cried. Both of Niall's albums: Flicker and Heartbreak Weather are just phenomenal! You can see the growth in him as artist. I can't wait for you to react to more of Niall's songs, especially his live performances cause he's just too good live! Next, I would request for you to react to This Town or Slow Hands.

Omg since tomorrow is 28th, you need to react to Louis tomorrow! It's his number he is obsessed with it (so are we). He is an absolutely amazing songwriter he wrote on half of one direction's songs as well. React to his song Two of Us (about his mum), Defenseless, Walls. (I am in love with each and every song of his but these are absolute favourites). You'll love him!

I love this song so much, especially in an acoustic setting or like in a stripped back version. I don't think you're alone on being surprised. A lot of people, including some fans, look at their younger days and then expect them to be exactly the same now 10 years later which is so strange to me. They did grow and change with each new album in 1D and once the final one came around a couple of them had truly found their feet because of it. I think Niall had a very clear idea of what kind of music he wanted to do. He's a singer songwriter and so amazing. Love both his albums but I prefer the second one.
@ssealion62523 жыл бұрын
to me flicker of all of their solo songs is the best. there are plenty of other songs that show off a lot more vocally or are better lyrically but flicker just has something special about it. I know you probably wouldn't have expected it just based off what you have seen before this, but Niall actually has the most acoustic ballads in his solo career and they're all really good

His lyrics are so good. ‘Two of us’ , ‘Walls’, ‘We Made it’ You cannot go wrong with Louis. Also I love every song Of Harry. He also does the best covers. ‘Girl Crush’ live at the BBC is my absolute favourite. 🙏❤️

About requests... If you don't want go into the solo albums right away.... I'm thinking for future references and whenever you want to react to solo Louis, apart from what other's have already recommended, I also recommend his version of "Through the dark" (2013). It's a One Direction song and he only have one small solo in it but he also put it on his tour list as it really fits him. Liam and Niall has also sung this song btw but I really enjoyed Louis's take. I think one reason I favor Louis's take is because IMO I think it really showed how underused he was in 1D. It sounded great to me! But it's maybe more for a later time once you get into 1D's albums. There's a good quality version of him singing most of his songs live from his live stream in December 2020. He did that live stream in lockdown and ticket sales went to charities and stage crew that were out of jobs due to no touring. In a way I would recommend this live stream over the one he did on his 'Away from home festival' purely because it's a... well, there's no audience and so if it's a *first* listen to his songs and you don't want the album versions you'll get him live with no... interruptions. However, if you want with an audience vibe I highly recommend the one from the festival as there is a professional recording of it as well (he screwed up some lyrics *lol*, as well as he lets the crowd sing here and there through out except on the new song Change, I saw someone recommend it and I do too and he's only sang it once so far in this festival). He put up this festival in august this year for free to celebrate the return of live music after lockdown. It was all filmed and released a few days later as a live stream concert including a mini documentary that I really recommend to watch at some point as well if you want to "get to know" Louis behind the scenes. Everything should be on youtube. So really, for any Louis song live I highly recommend either one of these 2 live streams, either the London live stream 2020 (no audience) or the Away from home concert (with audience). He sang all songs from his album plus some covers and one-two new songs. Louis hasn't done a tour yet as it was only getting started n 2020, and all the fan videos are fun to see and all but you can't really hear him sing in those so that's why I recommend those live streams. There are of course a couple of other of his TV performances online as well but not many. His first couple of songs are not on his albums so maybe the music videos for those would be of interest? Just Hold On (2016) what's interesting about this song is that it is originally an EMD song and a collab with Steve Aoki but he has changed it into his Britpop indie sound on tour. Def recommend listening to both versions as they are very different. It was also his very first solo song and he first sang it live on X Factor in Dec 2016, just 3 days after he lost his mum so it was a really emotional performance to watch (as a fan you were in chock by the news and just imagining how he must have felt going up to perform solo for the first time ever... ), Back to you (2017), a collab with Bebe Rexha and Miss you (2017). There's also a song called Just like you, but he only released it for his fans really. All these 4 songs are from when he didn't know what kind of music he wanted to do as he had not really planned on going solo.

😂 Acoustic doesn't always mean slow!! lol It's just supposed to mean unplugged...which technically this wasn't even acoustic because that keyboard is wired. And, in my defense, I've seen some pretty kickin' acoustic sets. For some reason the word "Flicker" made me think of flashing lights and dance music. Could I have been more wrong? Epic fail on my part.
