Hey everyone just had a comment point out to me in my latest battle report that VAMPIRES CANNOT WEAR ARMOR AND CAST SPELLS IN THIS EDITION. this was a major goof up on my part in the battle against the empire, obvs as I mention in these first couple battle reports I am still learning the game but my vampire in that battle was a level 2 and I know for a fact he cast Raise Dead atleast once during our battle, and he had a good armor save in the melee combat with the halb units so this was not legal. My necromancer did get the majority of the casting done during that battle but this was a clear mistake I made, so apologies for that

Thank you for the video I havent played ow yet. I think you provided a balanced opinion on the game. Two things I would mention though as a 6th edition player Minotaurs were always core if you have a Doom Bull and at least then they were just T4 and still went down pretty easy. While Brets with the lance formation were pretty OP so glad they were not as good as chaos nights in combat who cant do the lance. Anyway just two little things.

that's really interesting, and tbh I never knew that about 6th beastmen. I played 6th back in the day quite a bit, but admittingly the GW I went to had little to no beastmen players and I never got their old army rulebook so I probs never would have known that if you hadn't made this comment. So thank you very much for the knowledge! And that's fair about lance formation giving an edge over chaos knights. My biggest beef was more so the logic+lore hyping up grail knights so much in the army book then comparing stat for stat them with chaos knights and feeling like they are "actually" the lesser unit. Which as your comment mentioned is somewhat flawed logic... grails have lance (and some other little things like living saints/blessing of lady/magic attack wepons etc) so I think I was probably just being dramatic lol and probs jelly of the cool factor + swagger that chaos knights have

@@camwardart yes I see your point regarding the lore it is annoying when the lore and the game do not match up well. Cheers

A very interesting take and assessment. Rather than being a mish mash I would say this edition tries to extract the best parts from various older editions! I believe you can reform in combat though I haven't seen anyone on YT do it. And I haven't read the actual rulebook just an online summary which may be wrong. Any how - after you fall back in good order you rally. After you rally you may reform. QED. This does mean that Falling Back in good order may be a better outcome than giving ground, which seems a bit wrong though giving ground implies you are not doing too badly in the first place. Anyhow I hope to get my hands on an actual rulebook soon to be able to get a better understanding of it.

If your unit strength is more than double the unit strength of the opponent and they roll a “fall back in good order” result, they flee instead. Just a heads up.

Hey thanks for the comment and actually remembered this rule mid battle because of your post. Only problem was I was frantically looking though the 400 page rule book trying to reference the specific page # and couldn't find it at that moment lol but we solved it all shortly after.

First, keep on playing and having a blast. Second, it is CAV-AL-RY. Not CAL-VAR-Y. Calvary is a place. Good luck to ya!

Also, “moral’ is different than “morale”. I think that my morale has improved because of your inspirational video; plus, you seem like a very cordial guy with great moral fiber, so it would be fun to have a game with you.
