I want you to make me a believer. The damage typically isn’t instant. I bleached my hair before and I didn’t see it at first. The damage and weakening is a gradual change. If your hair is still this healthy looking in 6 months to a year and you’re not having to cut it, I will be sold on all the products. Good luck🤞🏾

Wouldn't the health of your hair afterwards depends on how well you're taking care of it ...using protein treatments, deep conditioning weekly, keeping your hair moisturized, etc. If you're slacking in those areas your hair will eventually pay for it

Yup happened to me 🤞 thats why i wont dye my hair ever again.

The Aphogee 2 step treatment most likely made your hair even lighter after freshly dying it. I wait a couple weeks after I dye my hair to do the aphogee treatment because it always takes my color away (my hair is always dyed copper orange too). Or I’ll do the treatment a day or two before dying.

My hair is hip length. I’d been coloring to cover greys for *years* because I greyed early, and I wasn’t even lightening my hair, I was using brown semi-permanent dyes. I finally stopped four years ago and my new growth is a thousand times healthier, much denser, and feels WAY more moisturized. I will never use hair color again. In my opinion, bleaching, lightening, and experimenting with color only makes sense if you’re not on a hair growth journey and aren’t concerned with length retention. I deliberately wore my hair short for over ten years and experimented and had fun with color because I was cutting my hair all the time; damage was far less of an issue. However, I recently had a dream I dyed my hair with Kool-Aid. Hmmm. 🤔😂

If our hair is made of protein how can one be protein sensitive? Surely it must just be an overload and not balancing it out properly with moisture/hydration.
@fayton302 жыл бұрын
This is a very important comment. I wonder too 🤔
@curlygirlleskie26462 жыл бұрын
@@fayton30 yeah I think it’s impossible to be protein sensitive, I reckon it’s just overload and lack of knowledge of how to balance it out.
@arewahaircaretv87182 жыл бұрын
It's about bonds. If your bonds are tightly packed(low porosity) you r going to be protein sensitive. On the other hand if your protein bonds are spares then you will need protein to fill in the protein 'gaps'(high porosity).
@thee__barbie2 жыл бұрын
@@curlygirlleskie2646 You are right . It is important to have a good balance between protein/hydration, it doesn’t matter if your hair is low porosity or high . That balance is key ! This obviously might change for people with chemically treated hair .
@BijinMCMXC2 жыл бұрын
Lol you sound like me when I used to didn’t think moisture overload was real. Everybody’s hair is different and can naturally take or not take different things. You just gotta know your hair. I keep my hair moisturized and I could personally deep condition my hair and leave that plastic cap on for days with a scarf tied around it and my hair would be just fine. Somebody else could do the same thing and their hair would be mush. Yeah it’s about moisture/protein balance, but I’m saying that balance is different for everyone. So “protein sensitive” really just means your hair can’t handle added protein like other people’s hair can.

Your hair is beautiful as long as you take care of it and keep up with regular professional trims you will be fine. Olaplex number 3 is your friend and not manipulating it too much. Alot of people stray away from color becuase they have heard or exeperienced a bad reaction. Often thats because they were not taking care of their hair before along with a combination of the stylist not doing it correctly. Color is our friend! 🤣 as long as you take care of it.
