You do not have to be a great artist to have fun with Scripture Writing and Creative Bible Journaling! The most important part is spending time in God’s Word.
My video today is about my four favorite colored pencil brands that I use in my writing and journaling.

I started scripture writing the other day after watching your video. I am not into the art part of it yet, but when I do, I am going to try my hand at doodling or drawing along with it. I was praying this morning asking God to increase my creativity. After about an hour I decided to get on you tube for some inspirations. Your channel kept popping up, specifically your intro to scripture writing, but I didn’t think it applied to what I was specifically looking for. After scrolling and seeing that video several times I felt God was trying to show me something. So I clicked on it. I have never seen your channel on my home page before this morning. I have now watched all three of your videos in this series and I am so inspired and excited to do this. I love incorporating God’s scripture in my art but have never thought of doing this. Thank you for sharing your tips and being so inspirational. What a beautiful spirit and countenance you have! I agree that He cares about these things in our lives, and we have not because we ask not. And He will give to us what He knows will benefit us, not necessarily everything we ask for. I too am so grateful He is so loving that He filters our requests through His love and will for our lives. I have subscribed, clicked the bell for notifications, and hit like. I love that about being specific with prayers and why not? The worst God can say is not yet. But I always think of that verse that says “in all things by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God… That has inspired me to be specific about some thing I’m praying for with God but also keeping myself open and flexible.

Absolutely! I had a friend who joined with us in praying once that God would provide a way for us to buy our first home. She prayed that the house would have a dishwasher because I had never had one before and my husband and I had 4 young children. We were very blessed indeed when God provided for us to buy a house with a dishwasher....but it was in a town almost 2 hours away. She told me, "I forgot to be specific in asking God to provide a house that was close to me." That comment always stayed with me. Thanks so much for watching!!

I found you the other day in my search for reading the Bible. I'm thoroughly enjoying your calm. I sent a video to my 95 year old Mom but it takes her awhile to reply. 😊 We're 1200 miles apart but she's able to attend Bible study at our church we have been members of for as long as she moved into her home. 75years I believe. I watched another video and I felt your 💔 pain as I live it with 2 sons. We have (since her birth) our 12 year old adopted granddaughter. We have absolutely no doubt we were guided by God when we took her home from the hospital. Our lives are rich with her love and happiness. You have a gift here with what you're sharing. Thank you. ❤

I had never heard of scripture writing before. I have Castle Arts and Prismacolor pencils also for fun coloring and drawing. I like adding the scripture part. You could use calligraphy (there are lessons on youtube) to write the Bible verses.

Calligraphy is so beautiful. But I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis when I was 38 and controlling my hand movements when gripping a pen can be a challenge for me. Even so, I keep going...just doing what I can manage and giving God the glory!

I have star joy gold brand pencils that I use for my scripture writing and they work amazingly. They’re around $30 on Amazon. I also use some water based markers I got at Micheal’s a few months ago that were like $16 and some fine liners by Shuttle Art and I’ve had them for years and don’t remember how much they cost.

I got a special journal yesterday and started with Revelations 21:5 as you did. I've been a long time scrapbooker. I have everything I need for this project. Being creative and meditating is so good for me but I forget from day to day so writing it down will pull me in to focus. So glad that I found you on KZbin! You have inspired me! I decided to use index cards to scripture write on. I have a little 'recipe box' that is perfect to hold them. However, I didn't want to just 'create and store' them because it IS the word of God after all. I wanted to be able to pull certain ones out and view them so I made a little 'frame' out of a laminated birthday card that I had saved. It looks very 5th grade lol but I like it. I have the full set of Prismacolor pencils that my dad bought for me a couple of years ago during one of the Amazon Prime event sales. They were almost 50% off !!! One thing with these pencils in particular, they’re very soft. It would be good to get a good reliable colored pencil sharpener!!!

Hello from sunny Arizona 😎 I started scripture writing today. I found a plan online so I could start right away. I bought an inexpensive hardcover notebook/journal on Amazon and since I am a card maker, I already have die cuts, pens, pencils, watercolors, and ephemera. I’m not really using art in my journal right now but I plan to eventually. Do you use a study bible or commentary for your observations and application sections? I’m struggling somewhat since scripture is often hard to understand and I feel as if I’m not getting everything I should out of the verse I’m working on. Hi friend! If you don't have a study bible around your house, just look up information online. www.biblegateway.com/ is a wonderful place. You can read various translations and read different commentaries concerning specific verses or passages. You can also just type in your question on the internet search bar....such as, "Understanding James 3." And then you will have lots of results to scroll through. What kind of paper do you use for your Scripture writing?. It looks like it's unlined on the back and a thicker weight paper where the pens don't bleed thru. If you can give me the brand name I'll search for it. If you had to choose between the colored pencils in the zipper case and the one's your son's art teacher gave him what do you feel are the better color pencils? Thank you for your time&help. Actually I just use regular notebook paper. I have used various brands over the years and some are thicker than others. But I don't really worry about bleed-thru since I don't write on the back side. I think the Castle Arts pencils are my all-around favorite pencils and if you keep an eye out, you can find them on a great sale on Amazon. Thanks for watching Charleigh!!♥

Yes! You're using the KJV and I used the NLT for my writing. I love both and sometimes use the NIV or NKJV.

Yes. The KJV is God's Holy Word. I used to use the other versions until a brother in Christ pointed out to me that they were copyrighted novels that twist God's Word. I wasn't convinced until I compared and saw it for myself. So now I stick with the unadulterated Word. Which God instructs us to do. God bless you!

@@kingdomfocusedlife While I disagree, I respect your views. The new translations are taken from the original Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic texts. That's exactly how the 1611 KJV was translated as well. The only difference is today's translations are done by current scholars who have a grasp of modern language. If you have ever seen an original 1611 KJV Bible, it's almost impossible to read because language then was so different. But it was certainly important because it was the first Bible translated into the language of the people of that day and one in which copies were made available to the public. Ancient Biblical texts can be challenging to translate. I admire scholars who have special skills in this area. The truth is, if we want to read the unadulterated original Scriptures as God gave them to the Biblical writers, we should become proficient in Koine Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic.

@@ZeldaSews Hi Zelda! Most Scripture Writers follow a writing guide for each month. The month is broken down into 30 or 31 days and a Scripture is listed for each day. Some days have one verse and others may have several verses. You can find these guides by doing an internet search for, "Scripture Writing Guides." If you are on Facebook, you can visit my page there, "The Homespun Wife," and I post a guide every month. Before the end of July, I will post a guide for August. The great thing about Scripture Writing is you can work at your own pace, if writing verses each day is too much. If you can only commit to Scripture Writing a few days a week, then that's great. I always encourage people to pray and ask God to lead them in their Scripture Writing.
