Just thought I would share how I have started doing the scripture writing. I keep the full year Common Planner by Sterling Ink. The front is the calendar, year at a glance daily calendar. The last half is blank pages enough for the full year. So I have started using these pages everyday for scripture writing. I keep it all with me on a daily basis as this is how I plan my day hour by hour/appointments etc. It is so nice for me to do the scripture writing daily, You are just a God send for us .

Dear Sherry, like others, your channel popped up last week. This episode explained S.O.A.P.. I had not heard of this, but my daughter Sherry, and her husband Matthew had. They had also heard of S.O.A.K.. I called my sister Ginny and explained your channel, now she is subscribed to it. I called others because your scripture journaling was such a wonderful use to draw closer to God and to witness to others. We would like to see a Bible verse now and then later. I choose a 9x6 sketch book for my writing. I divide the sheet in half. This helped me when a full page of paper was so intimidating. Also, I have a devotional that has a name of Christ for each day of the year and that is what I write. Keep up the encouraging videos.

Hi Nadine and thank you for watching. 1. I think new Christians should begin reading God's Word everyday and having a time of prayer. You can use a devotional book or a Sunday School book or some other method to help you. But taking in God's Word is crucial. And this is why I think Scripture Writing is a wonderful tool for both new Christians and longtime Believers. We can speak to God anytime, no matter where we are. And that type of prayer is important. But making time to be still and quiet, so we can listen to what God is showing us and teaching us about life, is very important. The combination of Scripture and Prayer is powerful for all of us. 2. Join together with other Believers. Being isolated and apart from other Christians can leave us vulnerable. We need the support and accountability we find in like-minded followers of Christ. I always suggest finding a church home. I know that can be a big task. It's not always fast and easy to find where God wants us to worship and join in with others. But a new Christian can start by visiting a couple local churches. Go more than one Sunday because it's tough to base our decisions on just one visit. 3. Change old habits. If there are worldly things the new Believer was involved in before, he or she will need to make some changes. That can be hard. Sometimes it means spending less time with those people who continue to live in those old habits. We can still be kind with them and friendly too, but we have to hold back on participating in the old ways we once had. 4. Change radio stations. I love all kinds of music and appreciate the beauty of them. But what we listen to all the time has an impact on our hearts and minds. If we spend the day listening to pop music or rock music or country music, then we missing out on the benefit that comes from listening to godly lyrics. I can feel a difference in my life when I listen to Christian music. You might like old hymns, gospel, or contemporary Christian songs. But choose one or more of those styles and start filling up the bulk of your listening time with them. We can still enjoy other types of music from time to time...but the more I listen to Christian music, the less appealing some other types of music become. Their lyrics aren't uplifting. I need godly music in my life and think new Christians will find they do too.

Sherry, I just love your videos and your encouraging words. Being a fairly new widow I find that I am struggling some in setting a set time every day for reading, studying and even doing scripture writing. For a few months after my husband passed away, problems at the church I was attending my time with God I am sorry to say was skip and miss. I have found a new church, a new love of the Bible, doing scripture writing and getting ready to welcome a new great grandson. I even bought a child's Bible for him as a shower gift. Keep up encouraging us. I also love the new channel you are doing with your husband. God Bless you both. Maybe you could do a video with your husband giving encouraging words to new widows or those grieving a loss of a parent, child oar even a close friend. ( I just lost a friend that we grew up together and went through school together (K-12).

Sherry, thanks for the wonderful ideas of budget priced tools for scripture writing. I just wanted to share an idea regarding the sticker sets you presented as consolation prizes. I have used them to decorate the top of gift boxes in lieu of wrapping paper. I add embellishments such as bows, lace and adhesive gems, and affix grosgrain ribbon to the bottom to tie up the box. Expanding the idea to scripture writing, a scripture reference could be written on the top or inside of the lid as an encouragement to the recipient. The boxes are fun to create and have sold well for a mission fundraiser.

For the last 4 years, I have been using a wide-margin set of scriptures where I write meanings of words I'm unsure of, stickers, pictures, etc. I love being able to open my scriptures and have notes and photos that help me as I read. I watched your video on Scripture writing the other night, which inspired me to start. I love it! I used to draw/paint in my ESV illuminated Bible. I used water color and all sorts of media. One of the things I love to use is Gelatos by Faber-Castell. The iridescent and metallic are my favorite. I bought a nice spiral B5 notebook from Amazon that I’m using. I’m not following any specific plan/guide…Just writing out whatever scripture the Holy Spirit brings to mind. Thank you!

Hi Sherry! I am brand new to your channel...as of 15 minutes ago 😊 I am so blessed that God brought your videos into my day, and now into my life. On January 1st of this year, I began reading my Bible. I am doing a year through the Bible plan. Although we are only in July, I am currently on the month of August in my plan❤. I am excited to learn more about scripture writing and even try it out. I recently started going to a Christian trauma therapist to help me work through childhood trauma from an abusive home situation caused by my biological "dad". I'm 46...I should be over all of this...but recently some things have happened that have emotionally reattached my emotions to past trauma. I'm trying to grow my relationship with God and to really see that He loves me and has always been by my side. It's so easy to tell others about God and how much He loves them...but it's hard to feel that God feels the same for me. Before my mother in law passed away last year, I read to her daily and helped her grow her faith. I always told her how much God loved her and how precious she was in God's eyes. As she was dying, I felt her say that everything I told her..those were my words from God, for me to feel and to see. I'm sure working on it. My therapist suggested coloring and being creative and your channel appeared! Amazing how God works. Your voice is so kind and caring and I look forward to learning so much from you. I just stumbled across some videos (yeah...don't think it was by accident...more like guided). I have been looking for ways that I can get in to a better habit of building my spiritual life. I have never heard of Scripture Writing until coming across these videos and I am so intrigued by it that I believe I am going to try it.

I think it's perfectly understandable to take breaks sometimes. There are many ways to stay in God's Word but I do think Scripture Writing is a great one!

I haven't done any scripture writing with drawings but would like to try. I have written some scriptures on index cards or in a journal. So sweet! This is a great tool for hiding His word in our hearts. Going through a severe cancer battle the past 2 years.
