WEBTOON wasn’t originally for preteen girls. It used to have ACTUAL porn on its site before it’s 2017 extreme NSFW ban. Creators on canvas were actually forced to make “borderline soft porn” comics after that ban. Much of WEBTOON canvas (especially BL for some reason) before 2017, used to be like Twitter and Tumbler where nudity was allowed. That being said, I get where you’re coming from - as webtoons demographic has changed in these past years - but I think you’re getting a little too heated over this issue. Many of these NSFW webtoons do explicitly say they are meant for mature audiences at the beginning of comics. I wouldn’t say they are deliberately trying to market towards preteen girls. Knowing webtoon canvas nsfw history, I’d say these comics are a step up (trust me I’ve seen way worse gut wrenching disgustingly toxic nsfw comics back in 2016).

While it is true that DiC did dub the original Sailor Moon as well as Sailor Moon R which aired on syndicated television (as well as the "lost episodes" that aired on Toonami) the dub of Sailor Moon S and Sailor Moon SuperS that aired on Toonami were dubbed by a company called Cloverway. Cloverway brought back a good chunk of the writers and voice actors from the DiC dub for S and SuperS, which is why a lot of people tend to confuse it with DiC.

I think incestual stories could be done well, but it would be REALLY hard to pull off. For eg. in a cult setting, in a psychological horror or in a medieval/antique setting where a character wants to break free from that or effects of incestual relationships are being seen and discussed. In a romance? Hm... it's hard to imagine a romance incest story that WOULDN'T seem pro-incest. Maybe finding out way down the line you're related could somehow work. They'd have to separate etc. It could be a drama-esque story, but it would be hard to do still (harder than incestual horror for eg.). Maybe a thriller/romance where it's normalised and even encouraged in a certain community/family to have incestual characters, but the main character would already have genetical problems because they're a result of inbreeding. It could be more of a documentary, social commentary and a tragedy too. Either way incestual stories could work with the right premise and in the right hands imo, but it's a topic very hard to manage to be more than just a sick fantasy. This comic clearly fails at that and seems like obvious fetish fuel that's trying to hide beneath "it's not pro-incest, okay!?".

I actually have an idea for a story, a sub plot. It's horror. There's a bit incest in it. It's about twins who are treated differently, a golden child and the black sheep of the family. The golden child loves to bully the BS and BS tried to ignore him and fails to do so. The BS continued to disappoint his parents, they don't want him so they don't care. Because of his hard headedness. The GD started falling for him and lusting after him. Just to add info, GD is a psychopath who likes to feel powerful, they live within a cult who used them as sacrifices for their dark gods. GD tried to rape BS one day and it resulted to BS's death, he fell down the staircase. With dark magic GD wants to bring BS back to life. BS managed to inform the sheriff of what happened through the dark veil. And sheriff wants to destroy the chaos happening on his town. The GD is the main villain. And at the end GD managed to capture the town and summon an angel to destroy everything. I still don't know what to do with GD but I think death is too merciful for him.

Oh man, I hadn't expected this one! Jack sounded like he was in real pain while reading this piece of....... fap material for teenage girls, and I can understand him. As someone who dwelled in incest fanfiction in the past (don't judge, I was one of those stupid teenage girls myself) I can say that this comic is for sure not suppose to be anything more than just edgy shipping fold for the anime loving teen girls. It's not just the artstyle that makes me come to this conclusion ( tho it's a big part of it too), but the whole style of writing and how the chapters are broken down. Even the warning in the beginning of the comic is just a bogus piece of text, which I don't believe even the author itself takes seriously. The warning is there probably purely out of "legal" requirment, kinda like youtubers are required to put disclaimers in front of their videos to say that the topic they are going to talk about is controversial. Yet I can bet 500000$ that the author's intention with the warning is to wave off critics like Jack by saying "hey, I did say front and center that this shit is going to be messed up. It's your problem that you kept on reading", which is just all kinds of BS. The story itself is your typical UWU cute bois in love shit you know from every single anime fanfiction in existence. Even the incest element itself, which is wrong and illegal, is clearly just an aspect of pandering into this anime fanfiction tropes. So it doesn't surprise me at all that this comic was made, more so that Webtoons refuses to remove it despite it breaking their own guidelines. Given the subject of the comic tho, I would like to assume that it's a fetish the author has and wants others to 'enjoy' as well. I can't say whether or not they support incest in irl too or not, but as it comes to the comic itself it's clear it's a pure fap fic and nothing more than it. So as it's infuriates me to see on a platform like Webtoon, I can't be angry at this shit's existence as Jack does. Reason is that it's clear as day this isn't suppose to be taken seriously, kinda like Boyfriends is, and exist purely as a vanity project of a horny teenage girl to her equally horny teenage readers. You have no idea how many times I genuinely had to switch tabs and leave because these things made me get goosebumps this is genuinely hard to watch and I can't stay to watch it without leaving This webtoon comic would've been perfect if it was a family trope(not like that) it would've been really nice to have some cousin love or adoration. Here's an example, I find my older cousin amazing and I look up to her it could be really lovely if Timmy here actually looked up to him that's why as he said he is insecure maybe it could be a comedy or fluff as in like we get to see him grow out of his shell of insecurity while Scott seems like the ideal man he's filled with insecurity and high expectations and Timmy can unknowingly help him grow out his body of insecurity or maybe ever since Scott meet Timmy his life has been more exciting, an example of how it could go is the rise of the tmnt which is mostly known for the sibling love. It could have Scott wanting to stick to toxic masculinity because he thinks that's what he as a man has to be but Timmy likes physical touch and helps Scott grow out of being so strict with how he has to be perfect then when he is finally given the chance to be human we start to see him act more differently almost like being what he had to cover up to show that he is "perfect " what he hated so much, what he knows or thinks people don't want. This mindset could be from a past relationship or society, it can be genuinely a good message to viewers and as you've said teenage girls or children watch this stuff, therefore, this story could do well for them to know more about this problem and maybe there is someone that they know that might be dealing with this and they could help a lot because the story is about accepting and healing. I feel like the title for the story can still be the same because it can be fun if they use that line but not in the context of the actual story but my idea for the story?

I'm like 100% sure this comic is just a joke or bait. There's just no way that the disclaimer at the beginning was serious. It's still awful but I'm pretty sure the creators are aware of the reaction it would get and played it up. It's called "My Freaking Hot Cousin" lol. And the "are you here for the plot or the gay?" When I was in middle school my "friend" at the time introduced me to bl , yaoi and gl. I try to stay far away from that now since I'm not a hormonal preteen anymore, but seeing this plays into a lot of problems I have with yaoi. A lot of yaoi's fanbase is very young women and they promote all this stuff including incest,pedophilia rape (forgiving and falling in love with your rapist), many cases bestiality, gay fetishism, and plain abuse. People know who they're marketing towards and I question the integrity of having so many terrible tropes of all of both yaoi and gl. Maybe this is why we have so many freak women who believe serial killers are hot.

I'm gonna play Devil's Advocate here and state that not every culture sees relationships between cousins as incest. In fact, in my country only parent-child and sibling relationships are considered incest. Cousins dating is rare enough but nobody will bat an eye to it. Webtoon is also hosted in L.A. where cousins marrying is legal so that might be why they don't count it as incest. I'm sure this webtoon sucks, I mean, just look at 7:50, but them being cousins is not the reason.

I was more horrified by the writing in this comic. Granted, I'm not a master at literature - far from it - but good lord reading those lines and descriptions hurt. If it was meant to be parody, I could somewhat maybe get it but even as parody it would still be bad. Still, I hope the artist will continue to learn to be better and hopefully find a better way to approach a subject such as this. If you're seriously trying to convey that it isn't trying to romanticise incest and what not, don't make it all cutesy and quirky, not in the way this comic was trying to be. It defeats the supposed message completely.
