Sarah, the best way to protect your head lamp lens is to put self healing head lamp protectant film on them. It keeps the head lamps from pitting and abrasions from rocks and it also keeps the head lamp from discoloration by the sun as a UV protectant. I put them on all of my head lamps and have never had any issues with pitting, cracking or discoloration.

Most likely, and fair warning to all buyers, many used parts dealers will polish headlight lenses to get rid of any clouding. Most people won’t buy used headlights that are clouded because they are replacing broken or clouded headlights. Unless you want matching clouded headlights for some reason. If you ever polish your headlights to remove the clouding, reseal them with UV protection otherwise you wastes your time and money.

Great video! I agree, clear headlights give a new appearance to all vehicles. That and dirty wheel wells will make a car look older no matter what else you've done. Did you use any new sealant when you swapped the lens' or was there enough left on them to do the job? Did it need to be warmed up again for it to seal?

Hi Sarah,.When you clean plastic headlights with a glass cleaning product, and put the car in the sun, the chemicals from the glass cleaner make plastic products crack. I don’t know if that is what you did but it is something to remember🤔. Transparant nail paint is often used to fill cracks and then polished and buffed, to fix it. You might try it, see if it works out for you. Greetings from ‘the Netherlands ‘😎

PLEXUS! I’ve used that for 15 years and when I sold my daughter’s 2010 Mazda, the headlight lenses were as clear as brand new. I detailed on the side and I’ve never seen a better product for lenses. I had 1 can last for years before I had to get another. It works great on Jeep vinyl windows too.
