Rest in Peace Rabbit. 8-25-2024 I had to come back to this video when I heard about your passing. I saw this video the day you posted and now I wish you had known then that the cancer was already a problem but a manageable one. But for some reason it was found to late and today we lost the best storyteller ever born. Later fella. Till we meet again.

I am 6'3" 220lb and considered "masculine" by my friends. But what they do not see is that I can be a blubbering idiot behind doors. For example, my best friend, a cat, died a couple months ago and it hurt me more than anything in my 52 years alive. To this DAY things trigger me about him. Sadly, I have never had a superclose human friend. I do not know why. I am fiercly loyal and love unconditionally. I never had kids. I SO want friends, but sometimes I think I am actually blessed. As hard as my furbaby dieing hit me, I can't imagine losing a human friend i was close to.

I also recently found out my best friend of around 40 years who beat breast cancer two years ago, now has lesions on his spine, lungs, and liver. They think that the lesions are cancerous. And two years ago I found that I have kidney cancer that had spread to my lower spine, a rib, and possibly my lungs. I was told when I was diagnosed two years ago that I had two to four years left to live. And if that wasn't bad enough this past January I had to have both my legs amputated below the knees. So my best friend and I both have grim prognosis. But like I told him (yes men can get breast cancer also) we just have to live every day to the fullest and try to find humor in everything that we can. I've even made jokes about losing my legs, laughter is truly the best medicine. So spend as much time as you can with your friend, as I plan on doing with my friend and my family members. Don't dwell on things that you are powerless to change because that will make you and the people around miserable. Enjoy what life you have left as much as you can.

You and I are almost the same age, and I enjoy hearing your stories as I work on the other side of the car business fixing them so I like hearing the other side, but this one kind of hit me. You get into your 40s and many people are gone, and some things that used to seem so important have become trivial. All you can do is keep on making the best decisions you can and doing the right things, and you can take comfort in knowing those people you cared about would be proud of you. Then you just spend as much time as you can with the ones that are still here.

Sorry to hear about your friend, Rob. I hope you get a chance to connect with him more before he passes. I know it’s easy to get down about stuff that ultimately doesn’t really matter as much. I’m trying to get things going in my new career of real estate. I’m frustrated as you well know things don’t just magically start to happen, but I try to focus on the things I can control. That may be on my specific real estate work or maybe making sure I’m getting the laundry walked AND out away in a timely fashion. Thanks for sharing your story as it’s a good reminder for me to keep things in perspective. Be well.

I still miss the errands and jobs she would ask me to do. At the time, I would think "What now?". One time she called at 3.00 am saying her back was really painful. I said what can I do? I then said just call an Ambulance. She was 82 at the time. Turns out she was having a Heart Attack. She survived and lived until she was 89. Miss you Mum.
