I genuinely thought that was all leading up to the greatest key death of all time. That's why I thought he put the direct routes back (he would start at the checkpoint without any coins from the beginning). So while it's not required for the player to beat it all in one go, the last red coin troll(s) would key death the player and then, regardless of what checkpoint they had, they'd be forced back to the beginning. Basically key death = cp0. Brilliant.

From my point of view, there was a secret room not showed in the video. I mean, you could do part of the puzzle, get the key and go back to the start. Do the strat at the "UN" and fall near the flag without hitting it. So the key-door is acessible.

The TempestFunk element feels wonderfully targeted to the intended player. Like the end of Loss Vegas, Norvada, or the first screen in the first level of Federico’s Trollogy, or that time Juz remade Please Just Do Better in SMW. I love the personal, thoughtful touches. The UN hint might’ve been improved if half of the L was visible, so you were primed to read it as the beginning of a word. Or maybe if the original “UNLESS” had some more visually distinctive elements like, I dunno, the points on top of the letters being topped by coins. Or the U being filled with coins, or the whole word having a background of empty P-blocks or switch blocks. Or maybe just a dotted empty-P-block underline? Or a dotted empty-block outline, positioned to not conflict with the Kaizo blocks? Then you wouldn’t even need the half an L in the hint; the ⊏-shaped outline would call back to the original decoration AND emphasize it being the first part of a word.

carl’s evil levels use complicated setups to troll and torture the player. dan’s evil levels just say ”fuck you” and puts you through horrible anti after horrible anti, knowledge cp after knowledge cp.
