Best looking 2 series I've ever seen. The car looks awesome. I'm not really a petrol head so I don't understand why people try and make their car so fast it blow's the engine. if I had this car I would tone it down with the sound and the power.

It’s not really that people make their car to go so fast to blow the engine, theres many different engines that are specifically built for power and many after market upgrades have been made to add and run higher power efficiently. in the long run most of the time, yes it does put wear on the engine, but that’s where it depends on how much power you want and what engine you are dealing with, many engines like the reknown 2jz, LS engines, or hell even Honda motors can handle beatings and high power for many miles and never fucking die. All in all, sometimes mistakes happen and engines blow, but nobody wants to blow their engine, us smart ones don’t do that.

I was thinking about applying a tune to my M240 but a cam cover failure earlier this year also causing an injector to fail has given me pause for thought. I've only got 12k on the clock. I don't have any mods but have protected the paintwork and the car is mint. (I do have an m sport exhaust)

@@dns9155 yes was b58. Sold the car last year on 24k miles and didn't have any other problems. The guy that bought it from me out a tune on taking it to 420. I got a Leon cupra now but miss the beamer.

@@dns9155 The beamer never consumed oil but the cupra does. Mine is the cupra 280. I serviced it in Feb and the oil light came on in August so i had to top it up. PS it was coolant that leaked on the beamer causing the injector to fail

I really like this car, very nice, they put stickers under the wrap yea, on the side skirts, love the kit too, feel your pain about bot choosing the B58 but look at that smile ahen talking about the rasp and note. Worth it and at least its not an N55 haha! Very nice. I'm always curious about comparisons to the N55 engine compared to the B58 which is supposed to be much better. I suspect BMW used the N55 for the M2 as the B58 wasn't tried and tested at that time. Who knows. I'm sure someone will let me know in the comments. 😁 I'll bet that gets sent around every roundabout, and his neighbours love him.

SurreyDan depends what you’re after, M240i can act much more like a daily than the M2, the DCT can be clunky at low speeds where as the ZF 8 speed is very good. The manual comes with auto rev matching which is cool

I preferred to not pay 5k + on insurance for an M2, maybe think before you speak. M235i was £600 all mods declared with a dedicated modding insurance broker.

This is proper spec. This is enthusiast spec. No auto, and no dead weight navigation unit that is 10 years out of date the 1st day you buy it. Lightweight manual cars is where it's at, did you ever hear of F1 and T50? Look them up for inspiration.
