Im 3 months on accutane right know and my skin is completely clear, even my dermatologist was surprised it happened so fast. I still need to take the whole dose so i will be taking it for next 5 months or so. And then i will need to fix the scarring. It took 3 months to get my skin clear and I struggled almost 2 years before that because I didn't want to go to the doctor and belived I can fix it myself 🥴 don't be like me. I also have very little side effects from accutane. So i highly recommend, its saving the last of my self esteem

I've struggled with my skin for years now and have tried every product or solution you could think of even acne medication. I finally start Accutane soon and despite of the potential side effects I feel so ready. It is so frustrating feeling like nothing works. I'm too afraid to change my products I'm too afraid to keep using my products because I don't see results. I hate wearing makeup each time knowing I should allow my skin to breathe yet I can't go out without the makeup because I feel as if im unattractive and everyone's staring at my skin. It truly takes such a toll on me yet I know we are ourselves biggest critics because any time I've been around others with acne, I thought nothing of it and never saw them different bc of it. Im hoping this journey goes well.

i totally feel your pain ☹️ i’ve also been struggling for years and i’m deciding if i should finally go on accutane. do you mind sharing an update on the treatment and any side effects you’ve had from it? i’m just scared of the risks that come from it but i’m so tired of dealing with my acne 😭
@AriannaSharma5 ай бұрын
@@reiannamarquez Hi yes! so i started Accutane in February and its now June so this is my like going on 5th month, If I'm being brutally honest I feel super discouraged I can say my acne as of active pimples and breakouts have lessened appearance wise as in I don't have as many pimples that are surfaced and coming out of my face but My face still looks like it is filled with acne (could be scarring?) and I've had "Flushing" (red skin that I believe is a side effect bc i did not experience this prior to taking the medication) at my last checkup I was told I'm looking at 2 more months then I'll get off but I doubt that because my skin is not yet clear. (I know they have to extend treatment sometimes so I may be on it for longer) but besides that I have hope and feel as if the medication is working slowly but surely! my side effects were tolerable occasional lower back & muscle pain, migraines, purging (which is expected) and dry skin and nose. My current routine as for products is Vanicream cleanser and Vanicream moisturizer (in the tub with a pump I don't recommend the one in a bottle bc it contains hyaluronic acid and Accutane makes your skin super sensitive it can damage and burn) these side effects are very tolerable and nothing major, I do see a slight difference and I am just being patient , that is key everyone's experience is different and it takes a different amount of time for everyone. I would def recommend getting on it and i will even try to come back after i finish the medication with an update, my dermatologist told me when i began taking it, Patience is key and your skin gets worse before it gets better! I'm going to tell them about my concerns regarding my scarring at my next appointment but do not let the internet scare you out of taking it, the side effects are not bad. If you do go on it stay hydrated and eat a meal or snack before taking it. I hope this helps somehow! I say yes to going on it, I can't wait for my results. Good luck :) (sorry this is long lol)

had acne problems into since teens to late 40's and been on all sorts of meds for it and accutane is the only thing that works for me. there is a catch though and maybe its just my skin, but i am on my 3rd session of accutane because the first time i took it, it lasted about 1.5 years before i started getting breakouts again. the 2nd time i took it, it lasted about 2 years before i broke out again. now i am on my 3rd session. they said it causes depression but i dont have that problem, i feel worse having acne than not having acne so maybe it affects others differently. hopefully this session will last longer than 2 years of being on the program.

I have cystic acne, and although I say my skin is getting worse, it's not coming to a head to clear, it seems to be baby cysts on my jawline. And that worries me. Because my cysts usually last a year+ with discolouration lasting an extra year on top. My lips are a little dry. Nose a bit bloody. Weird dreams now and then. I've also noticed a rainbow of blackheads across my nose I've never had! I've always had cystic acne the size of golfballs. Should I worry about the blackheads?
